Ray and his team were incredibly professional, kind and courteous throughout all of the home projects. Their work on my basement foundation, installation of French drains and the rebuilding of an exterior wall were all phenomenal and at a very fair price. I highly recommend their services 10/10

They did a good job, I would definitely call them again if I would need another job on masonry work. I had a few estimates and he has a good pricing and the chimney that they worked on is still standing. All around very good company, constantly working til they get the job done, and they showed up on time when they said they would.

It went well. I tried to have them come back for another job and blew me off. He never came back and did the work.

The stone work people were great but I wouldn't hire the carpenter again, I think he's no longer with the company. Ray, the owner, is a very good man. He's always responsive, competent, supervises his group very well, and I think he's a very good owner/manager of the company.

The repair to my foundation went extremely well. Ray and his crew at Set in Stone of New England found the damage immediately and assessed the cost and timeline. They were in and out exactly on time! They are very professional and left my basement cleaner than it was!! It has been over a year since they repaired it and I have had no leaks since. I would recommend them to everyone experiencing water in their basement.

Ray is a consummate professional. He has excellent project management skills and a team of skilled workers that completed the project on time and in budget. I met with Ray and he gave me an estimate to build a stamped concrete patio and firepit around my existing pool. This required extensive shrub and tree removal next to the pool. The project started and finished on time within the discussed budget. The work looks sensational and all our neighbors have tried to recruit Ray for their own projects. Unlike most building contractors, Ray does not kill you with minor change control issues and cost increases, he just gets the project done at the highest level of quality. While Ray was on site, he diagnosed a flooded basement issue and I extended the project to fix the problem. Ray has taken a basement that was regularly under water to be totally dry. I trust Ray and his workers completely. If you want an honest qualified builder who meets his commitments and exceeds expectations look no further.

Wonderful experience working with Ray and his staff. Very professional and knowledgeable, assisting in the planning and creation of a beautiful retaining wall of natural stone and a stamped concrete pool apron. Our inground pool is now a show piece. Ray was always available, answering our phone calls promptly, and patient with any of our questions or concerns.

I hired Set IN STONE two years ago to replace our deteriorated curved front steps, no easy feat. Ray did a perfect job in reproducing the curvature of the steps , and to this day I get complements on the beautiful steps. Just this spring I hired Ray to restore two crumbling driveways at another location. Not only did he do an excellent job , but he went above and beyond what was required in the contract. I recommend Ray for all your masonry and carpentry needs.

We hired Set in Stone to create a new patio, pool deck (including new pool coping), front patio, front door step, stone outdoor kitchen, stone sitting wall, and stone firepit. We couldn't be happier with the results! numerous people have commented that our backyard looks like a 5 star resort. Ray and his team were beyond excellent. Ray was on site regularly and went above and beyond in every way. He even adjusted certain things that took extra time and work (details that we would have never noticed or considered) because it was the right way to do it. Things like proper drainage, slopes, sightlines. With such a big job, we are thankful we chose Ray and his team to do it right. The Team of Masons are the best in the business as well. with a pile of rocks, a hammer, stake and string they created a beautiful oasis and outdoor living area we would never have been able to dream of - no stone veneer, or engineered products, real deal STONES. During one of our first consultations with Ray we asked "where do you buy the stone?" thinking there would be a catalog or something. He said "from the ground.....when we dig them up, we use them somewhere" the result is a beautiful and natural end product. Ray also worked with us throughout the project to make sure we were happy and to make sure we understood what was going on, and why. we learned a lot, and quickly realized how lucky we were to be working with a great team of professionals who are proud of what they build. we've since referred Set in Stone to friends, family and neighbors and will surely use them again.

Ray and his crew were efficient, professional and extremely competent. It was quite comforting to see that he is a hands on boss. As an aside, his employees appear to genuinely like him.

I am extremely pleased with the entire process of working with Ray Limoges (the owner). From the initial contact through to the final completion I can't think of any aspect of the job that I wasn't happy with. He was prompt with his quote, in fact I believe I received it the next day complete with a very thorough contract that was written in english, not lawyerese. His contract spelled out everything from construction details to payment schedules which I found refreshing and helped him stand out in my eyes from the other contractors I had quote. I  was pleased to watch construction progress and everything in the contract  was followed to a "T".  No shortcuts. His work crew was great to work with as well and they were careful around my property and even managed to keep the tractor mostly in the areas where the walkway was being installed. I really appreciated this as I am a bit of a lawn guy and my lawn was not impacted at all by this installation. In fact if you were to look at it the day they finished it you'd think that it had been there for years. They broke a couple of irrigation lines (not unexpected) and my electric dog fence but they properly repaired everything before the job was completed without me needing to nag them. The end product is beautiful and I would highly recommend them.

Response from Set In Stone
"The project in question is two and a half years old as of this month (October 2015) Owner of Set In Stone stopped by to view the damage caused by the salt application after Customer contacted him. In her initial call to owner, She explained that after having broken her leg, her sympathetic neighbors spread salt on the concrete patio to melt ice in an effort to help her as she was incapacitated. Salt is a corrosive substance to concrete. Customer acknowledges in her review that this area was treated with salt. Runoff from snowmelt and from shoes can also cause corrosion even in areas not specifically treated with salt. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done once salt is applied, customers are told not to use salt for any reason on concrete as this voids any warranty. We do feel that the circumstances leading to Miss D's dissatisfaction, while being unfortunate, are not our fault. An Internet search will yield articles about the corrosive effects of salt and deicers on concrete. It's a shame when a homeowner blames the contractor for damage caused by improper maintenance procedures as this voids the warranty. We make it a point to tell the client 'do not use salt' on the concrete creation simply because these types of situations are preventable. We are sorry that Miss D's unhappy."

I signed a contract on June 17, 2014 to re-do my pavers around my pool. I gave a 10% down payment which was $2,130 upon signing the contract. I paid $8, 520 when he was to start the project. He did not show up on the fist day that he agreed to start the work.  I got worried and called and it was a week later before he came to start the work.  I gave him another $8,520 at that time.  When the work was finished I paid him the final payment of $2,130  making it a total amount of $21,300 for the job. He dug up my whole back yard and it was a mess the whole summer. It was such a mess that I even had to repaint my swimming  after he completion of his work. He did not keep the area tity.  After I paid him in full I went out to look to check the area around the pool house and there was a  red line that I located  which was a red mark on the concrete which was not just a eye sore it was suposed to be cut like the other red lines. He was suposed to cut the red line to allow expanding concrete due to freezing weather. He told me to not worry about it. Winter came and it was a freezing winter with lots of snow. I went to check the work after the winter, where he was supposed to cut the red line and he told me not to worry about it. I found that the concrete had deep big cracks it that area which is a bad eye sore. I called him about a week ago to fix the problem and  he told me the crack needs be at least a quarter of an inch wide. He said it was not that bad when inspect it. When I objected to his commit, he called me ignorant and laugh at me to my face. He also told me to never to call him again. I feel he is a very rude man and done a very poor job. I feel that he should have fix the cracked part of concret as he did not do the job properly the first time. At the finish of the project as the owner, Raymond W. Limoges never showed up to inspect the work and collect the final check. I would expect the owner that did a majority of the work  and over seen the work would  do a final inspection. He was a desaster.  I do not recommend him to anyone.

The guy came in and finished the wall work. He took all our money, wouldn't come back to work and he went bankrupt. It's a fairly new company. He was supposed to make a pool apron but he didn't and not I drop of concrete was brought here. We hadn't heard from him for like three weeks and then he called to say that he wouldn't come back unless we sent him a cheque. We sent him a cheque and then he came back and did a little bit of the wall. Then he didn't come again and he needed another payment. He kept doing that until we had paid the whole thing and then he never came. We took him to court and we were awarded $35000 back for the concrete work which he did not do. He went bankrupt after that and changed his company's name. He laughed on our face. He has done that before if you look on the contractor's registration board. He has a few different names over the past fifteen years.
