After a couple of weeks, I noticed that the surface of the concrete was chipping and that water was pooling against the house in several places due to improper grading, the exact problem which I had hired him to correct in the first place. I called Mr. Evans back to the house and showed him the problem areas. He agreed to replace the faulty work in a couple of weeks after he finish his current jobs.

So I would call him every 2 weeks to see why the work had not been done, each time receiving a different excuse. After a couple of months of excuses, Mr. Evans stopped returning my calls in mid-April 2011. After a month of stonewalling, I contacted my lawyer in mid-May and notified Mr. Evans that I would take him to court if the work or a refund was not done.

Mr. Evans called me back and said that a crew would be out on Wednesday June 8, 2011 at 8 A.M. to begin work. They showed up in the afternoon on Thursday June 9 with jackhammers to remove the improper work. When I came home Thursday, the work of breaking up the existing work was half done with the driveway reduced to partially rubble but none of it removed. It is completely unusable in its current state. It was been over 2 weeks since they destroyed my driveway and now they are not returning my calls again.

At this point, I am out the money, 6 months of stress & holdup to my other home repairs, have no driveway. Water is not draining at all rather it goes right through the holes and spaces they jacked in the driveway right to the foundation, exactly what I was trying to avoid when I hired them.

Update: Now over 7 months into the process my basement is flooding due to their extremely slow work. They have taken over 6 weeks to remove the incorrect work that they did in January. It is now July 22. Because they broke up, then only removed half, then removed all of the driveway and left the dirt area exposed for over 2 weeks, my foundation has been damaged and water is leaking into my house from multiple points of my basement - all running the length of the area they have left open to water. I called Sidney Evans to alert him to the damage and he said they would our the concrete "sometime next week".

Overall, it has been an incredibly aweful experience. I have been unable to finish repairing my home due to the unknown cost of resolving this situation. It has been a constant headache trying to get this done and coming home over and over to not find work being done on dates that were promised. In addition to not proforming the work correct, lying to me easily over 30 times about times, dates, or even showing up at all, they have damaged the foundation of my house through their neglect.

This level of customer abuse is literally illegal, and I am suing Evans over the damages. Surprise surpruise, that he doesn't return lawyer's calls and letters either. I would warn any against using this company in the strongest possible terms.

Update 2: It is now September 28, and the work is still not complete. They finally removed the faulty driveway and poured one what appears to be correct back in mid-August. However, the rubble from removing the previous version got into the drainage pipes. Evans agreed to snake clear the drains, but as usual has not done so. In addition, one of the drains has not cap or grate on top of it. Again, Evans agreed to put a drainage grate on it after he cleaned out the pipes, but it has been over a month with no work done.
