SGH has been an extraordinary HOA management company. They are super responsive and extremely helpful. I am a trustee for Flatiron HOA in Somerville. Prior to SGH, we had a terrible HOA management company CharlesGate (CG). Compared to CG, SGH was such a delight and the entire HOA board feels very happy with the professionalism SGH has demonstrated. My roommate and I moved into an SGH property in late 2022 to find a dead rodent as well as a damaged fridge and non-working Dishwasher. Sharon at SGH took months to successfully fix both of these and later when the apartment was infested with rodents, SGH took weeks to send an exterminator. I've had 6 landlords in my life and SGH, and Sharon specifically, have been the lowest quality of all of them by a large margin. If you're debating renting from SGH, I highly recommend you reconsider.

"Regrettably, when managing properties with challenging tenants, SGH follows tenant lease agreements and legal guidelines to protect our Client Landlords. In this specific case, due to the tenants’ unlawful possession of a dog (which is strictly prohibited as outlined in the lease agreement); failure to adequately maintain the apartment resulting in unsanitary conditions; and the tenants’ action of placing bottle caps down the garbage disposal, we deducted funds from the security deposit. These deducted funds were used to restore the apartment to its original condition after significant damage occurred. As a Property Management company, we are hired and paid by, and in turn, work for the Landlord, not the tenant."

We live in a small townhouse complex in Wellesley. Wendy has been our property manager for 10+ years. SGH handles our finances...issuing reports, collecting HOA fees, special assessments, etc. and refers us to their list of vetted contractors/professionals as needed. Wendy and her team are very responsive. SGH Property management exceeds our expectations!!

We made the very wise choice to switch to SGH Property Management in 2013 and have been delighted with our decision ever since. Wendy and the SGH group are knowledgeable, responsive, professional, realistic, honest, and extremely hard working. We are continually appreciative and grateful that their standards correspond to ours—so when we discuss a contractor or plan for a project we know that we will be happy with the result SGH helps us to achieve. Wendy has connected us with excellent tradespeople—a mason, a tree pruning service, and the SGH principal handyman were particularly welcome additions to our community—and she has also been able and willing to coordinate with a cleaning service and an electrician we were already using. With Wendy's help and advice we have recently undertaken a couple of huge and long overdue maintenance/rebuilding projects, including negotiation of very favorable loans to allow us to accomplish what was urgently needed in a timely fashion. All in all, we feel Wendy and the SGH team are as eager for our condominium to work well as we are, which is a very nice feeling to have.
