"Regrettably, when managing properties with challenging tenants, SGH follows tenant lease agreements and legal guidelines to protect our Client Landlords. In this specific case, due to the tenants’ unlawful possession of a dog (which is strictly prohibited as outlined in the lease agreement); failure to adequately maintain the apartment resulting in unsanitary conditions; and the tenants’ action of placing bottle caps down the garbage disposal, we deducted funds from the security deposit. These deducted funds were used to restore the apartment to its original condition after significant damage occurred. As a Property Management company, we are hired and paid by, and in turn, work for the Landlord, not the tenant."
