I would say, if you want your light to be fixed and installed with recessed lights, he does it very quickly, but don't count on him fixing or taking care of the rest of everything if you have paid. Before we started the job, he told me that the price would include fixing the ceiling hole if the exist fluorescence light was removed. Of course I know how big a hole would be for a light to be removed, and I believe he would know too, but he after he removed the light, he said the hole was too big (about 12 inches) and he could not fix the hole because he would not do drywall work, and he would send his buddy to work on it. I said ok, as long as it would be fixed. After my lights finished installing, I paid him in full and trusted him would send someone to do a quality work to fix my ceiling, but it had been 1 month before my ceiling hole could be fixed. The guy he sent just stuffed a bunch of lite drywall compound in there, without using mesh/screen or a piece of drywall to cover the hole first. The hole has electric wires and everything inside and he just put a bunch of putty in there and got all the wires jammed in the putty. I questioned him if it was really something done correctly, and he said he had always done it that way. I will leave it to everyone else to judge, but I have watch people doing drywall work and fixing holes before, and a large hole was not fixed like that.

Mounted lower than expected, had scheduled a day to come back to fix it, but no call no show as of today.

Overcharged for parts. $300 for $75 worth of parts (30 ft of wire and metal conduit). I provide plug because one he bought was a cheap one, which he ended taking back.

Communication and appointment keeping poor. Brads used to mount wires were ran through the wire. I had to inspect all the work for quality, should have done the job myself.

Kevin is awesome. He did the work quickly and made sure everything was perfect. I’m hiring him again to do a chandelier install and to add an outdoor outlet for my water feature.

I've hired Kevin Shea several times over the past 5 or so years, to work on two houses. He's always fair and knowledgeable but the fact that I keep hiring him over and over is the best endorsement I can give.

I have used Shea Electric in the past and will use them again in the future. Doing an electric panel upgrade involved a lot of work due to having to relocate the panel 3' from the gas meter due to the City of San Diego changing codes in 1/2017 but Shea Electric was on top of it, he worked very well with the City Inspector and San Diego Gas & Electric Inspectors making sure all was approved. Shea Electric did a remarkable job and the owner (Kevin) stands behind his work. He is honest with a high degree of integrity. Since he did such a great job, my son-in-law hired him to do electrical work in and around his house. He is also very satisfied.

Kevin quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired the faulty line. He installed the new wiring for new exterior lighting and charged me less than the estimate. He is truly a great resource to have when you need someone you know will do excellent work for a fair price!

It took three months to finally get him to come out, after two cancellations, one without even a call. After two hours, he could not get them to work and left without them working. They are a bit more complicated light switches than normal, but nevertheless he could not get them to work and left them in wise shape than when he arrived.

Once he was able to come to my home, the installation went very well. I would hire Kevin again. The only reason I have him a B grade was that it took several attempts to make an appointment that he was able to fulfill.

It took a while to get them on the books but once we were able to do so, he and his co-worker Jose banged out the work quickly and did a great job. Once the date was set, they showed up on time and completed the work quickly and cleaned up the area they worked in (they brought their own tarps as well). Price was right and the quality was top notch. Thank you, gents!

At first a No Show. When I called him he had an excuse and rescheduled he brought along his contractor associate because he does not do any wood or drywall repair He screwed up our wiring by disconnecting outlets. Trying to get him back was a disaster No Show AGAIN and then one excuse after another - Exwife won't watch the kids, truck broke down, sick, sprained ankle. After 3 months the job is still not done This guy is not only a flake, he's incompetent

Kevin replaced the fan with the light I had purchased and I never saw him again. I kept calling and he either would not answer or he slept telling me his son was sick and he had to be home with him. BTW, I SENT ANGIES LIST THIS SAME REVIEW BEFORE AND I RECEIVED A RETURN MESSAGE THAT MINE WAS RECEIVED AND IT WOULD BE POSTED. it's been week's and it's still not on your website. Despite paying Angies List- no work was ever done- what is our recourse? Many calls were made and appointments rescheduled until they weren't returned, despite calling and emailing Kevin Shea. I would not recommend him OR Angies list since I do not know how to get our money back or how to have Kevin return our calls and emails to get the work done. Please advise!!

The Holiday Lights half of the outlets were put on a switch in the garage to control power to those receptacles. These receptacles trip the GFI and no one comes out to remedy the situation. Several calls and appointments were made - hubby has text message history as legal proof.
