About us
We are based in Arlington, where our family has been for 35 years and we operate throughout Dallas/Fort Worth and North Texas. We work with most insurance companies following storms to quickly and professionally replace or repair the roof over your head. We specialize in replacement of roofing impacted by wind and/or hail and we operate throughout the entire Metroplex. If your home has been subject to wind or hail within the last 2 years, you should have it inspected by a professional. Damage may or may not be apparent to the untrained eye. (Most) insurance companies only give you up to 2 years for claims, some give even less. Your rates are not affected by your own claims as, per state law, rates are raised by zip codes periodically. If your neighbors are getting new roofs, your helping to fund them through rate increases. Call for any questions... we're happy to help! Father & Son- Monroe Smith & Cory Smith

"We know that time is of the essence when selling a home. We frequently work with sellers, realtors and buyers to meet closing deadlines and keep everyone happy in the process. Thank you for the feedback! We'll share it with the crew."
"We love repeat customers! We're happy to have helped you with your roof maintenance. With a 3-story building, it's too high and difficult to ascend for most folks. It's not for our crew however. The photographs and the report provide ample information for owners and prospective owners."
"We love people and we love our work. One customer at a time we show them that a new roof need not be a project to be loathed, but let it be the beginning of improving something you love and that your roofer can be trusted to take good care of your home. This project originated as siding project. An area of siding in which the paint was dramatically. We initially spoke about doing some repairs and paint. It took a quick look at the roof and we knew that water coming day was the cause of the siding trouble. The homeowner made a call to her insurance company and later that week the adjuster inspected. He agreed and we set to replacing the roof. We had a discussion about what the color of the new roof should be- she was going to paint the house too. The new hickory shingles gave it a new look and she soon painted it cerulean blue. This house is unique from the chimes on the front porch and the little touches all over the house. From the street it is vibrant- much like the artiste-in-residence owner. The new roof is as functional as is appealing- the ventilation is now ridge vent, which is preferable over turbines or electric fans because the vent is non-mechanical and the entire length of the attic is vented. Pretty. Smart. Pretty smart."
"We love a happy customer! We came out to address a leak around the chimney and pointed out hail damage, which wasn't visible from the ground. The insurance adjuster agreed and we got to work on color selections and the calendar. We replaced that pesky flashing at the chimney and the synthetic underlayment will last forever. The new color of the GAF Timberline shingles looks great and the Z Ridge ridgecap shingles give it a sharp look. We also installed GAF ridge vent attic ventilation to keep things cooler in the Texas heat. Pretty and cool. Pretty cool, huh?"
"The St. Patrick's Day hail storm hit much of DFW from west of Fort Worth to Duncanville. This home like so many had hail damage to the roof, gutters and a window. The new GAF Shingles and Z Ridge are beautiful along with a new ridge vent to keep the attic temps down, which helps with utility bills and improves the aging of the roof. Pretty. Smart. Pretty smart. We love hearing from a happy customer. Thank you for the positive feedback and referrals! -Cory & Monroe"
"We are a full service roofing company- new roofs, additions such as porches or sunrooms, gutters, and roofing repairs for residential & commercial. Water coming in from the ceiling in a new, pristine kitchen is a troubling issue. Our tech found the entry point and even found a couple of other similar places that were leaking but had not yet damaged drywall. Often times, water penetrates the roof and the attic insulation absorbs it. It then evaporates and it happens again with the next rain. By the time it discolors the drywall, it's become a bigger problem. (Insurance advice: before you call the claims line about such an issue, get an estimate. If the repair is less than your deductible, there is no benefit whatsoever to filing a claim. Too many such claims, whether they pay $0 or not, can place you into a high-risk category.) An even happier ending: After the weather cleared up, we performed a full inspection and discovered poorly done repairs and hail damage, too. We handled the insurance claim and installed a new roof that has no leak issues and is beautiful."
"The process of getting a new roof is often stress-filled. Concern about choosing the right company, the right product and hoping it is all installed correctly can overwhelm most homeowners. We meet with the customer to discuss the work- the needs and the musts as well as the possibilities like color and product selection and improving efficiency. This project included an existing leak that had been troublesome as well as algae on its North slope, which is common in Texas. It's unsightly but it's not detrimental to the roof otherwise. The metal stacks for the water heater and furnace were likely original as they were in need of replacement. The work took a day and a half. Removing the shingles allowed us to inspect the decking and to replace the area that was damaged by the leak. We installed Atlas Summit 60 synthetic underlayment over the entire roof; it is tear resistant, rot proof and its non-slip surface makes it safer for our crew members. To prevent future leaks in the valleys, we also installed Ice & Water shield, a highly effective membrane. The stacks and chimney flashing were installed and painted to match the new shingles. The new shingles are Atlas Pinnacle Pristine architectural shingles with Scotchguard by 3M treatment. This is guaranteed to prevent streaks for 10 years! It looks great. The Pinnacle Black looks striking and gives the house a new, modern look. The new [Member Information Removed] vent attic ventilation will help the new roof to last longer and keep the attic cooler and prevent condensation in the attic. We love all of the positive feedback- Hector, Blanca and our crew are very thorough. We all appreciate the referrals you have sent to us as well."
"This project remains a favorite of ours. The existing 25 year/3-tab roof was showing its age and the exposure to the Texas sun had baked it. There was a concave spot above the garage, which turned out to be due to the rafters being of inadequate size and a different era. We removed the old roof and our framers made quick work of it and had it leveled out so the new roof could be installed. The upgrade to architectural shingles makes a huge difference in curb appeal, elevating this already charming home. The homeowners chose GAF Timberline shingles in Pewter Gray with GAF Z-Ridge ridge cap shingles which look great on the prominent ridge, installed over the Cobra Rigid Vent attic ventilation. This N. Oak Cliff home has curb appeal in spades and it also has a durable new roof with improved ventilation. The feedback from the homeowner and from the inspector from Farmers validates us. The referrals you have sent are appreciated as well!"
"We're always happy to hear of a customer's satisfaction with our service and the results. [member name removed]'s home was unique in that it was involved in a real estate transaction, so timing was important. We worked with the insurance company to get the work started and completed in time for the closing as well as allowing for the new roofing material to be selected for a new aesthetic. The next door neighbor was told about our services and he elected to work with us as well for his new roof."
"Before any work was ever began, we worked with Mr. (member name removed)'s insurance company to address a water damage problem from a previous claim that may have been a roofing issue all along. We also asked for the hail damage coverage to also repair the detached storage house in the backyard which was also damaged. Lastly, we coordinated the replacement and repair of water damaged fascia boards on the home. The house looks very good now."
"We at Shingles Roofing worked with their insurance company to ensure that all of the aspects of their home that were covered by the policy and damaged in the storm were fully realized in the replacement and restoration process. This included drywall damage sustained inside, adjacent to a skylight. We also suggested installing radiant barrier decking at this time for future energy efficiency and financial savings. The home as a new look with handsome GAF High Definition Timberline shingles, new gutters, as well as a new look inside with the popcorn ceiling now removed. The homeowner had a family gathering soon after the restoration and we worked with them to have the work completed just in time for the event."
"The [member name removed] home needed gutters to prevent wood damage on their home, deck and new landscaping as well as concern for foundation damage. The job took several hours and they look great. With the mature trees in the neighborhood, leaf guards were a must, too."
"Customer's roof replacement was atypical in that it took more than a day. This was due to the additional roofing material layer to be removed, the required soffit repairs and the adding of decking. We also hand hammer the roofing material installation and this takes a bit more time as well, but the result is a better integrity roof. We initially spoke in October and worked with his insurer, Farmers Insurance, to qualify for a better quality roof. Farmers Insurance is known for typically underpaying on roofing. We have a former insurance adjustor on staff who works on the homeowners' behalf to negotiate for work that is covered by their policy bbut not addressed when the insurance adjustor visits the home and prescribes the covered items. Customer's soffit repairs were partially covered as a result as well as things required by code such as valley metal which Farmers initially had not covered. Lastly, they had undercompensated for market cost of decking and we were able to negotiate to market price for this. A good quality roofer will not save a few cents and use substandard materials. The roof is the first line of defense in protecting the home from the elements. Cutting corners compromises this and the family who lives under it."
"Mr. R was referred by another satisfied customer, Mr. Ballou. Mr. R's insurance company, Amica, was quick to provide them a check after the tornado struck Arlington in April 2012. However they didn't thoroughly inspect the damage to the home as they neglected to address a gazebo structure in the backyard and the gutters on the home which were hail-dinged and wind-damaged. Most importantly they had not specified to replace the entire roof on the house itself! The are a couple of areas in the front of the home that were not damaged in the storm, but if they had been left as original, the would not have matched the new roofing materials we were about to reply. I negotiated with Amica to secure that they would also pay for the gutters, gazebo roofing and for a complete reroof on the home. We installed GAF Cobra Rigidvent system to improve the attic ventillation. Our crew took wonderful care of the R's new landscaping and even took care to move patio furniture from the pool area and patio. Note that Mr. R has given us a B in quality. This is most likely due to an issue that we have addressed. The roof was installed in cooler weather, in the high 40s, low 50s in Fall. HD shingles will occasionally not lay down fully and may have a slight lift at its edge. This will settle after a few days of temperatures about 95 degrees. To meet Mr. R's concerns we had a visit from a GAF representative and our supplier to confirm this. Lastly, we provided Mr. R with a written addendum to his warranty that if this does not settle, we will reroof that elevation at a future date. We stand by our work and the materials from GAF."
