The designer was very good at listening to what we wanted and making suggestions that were aesthetically pleasing. The start date of the project was to be about 4 weeks out a bit much for some but worked with our schedule. However it did not begin at that time and was pushed out and by the time I did get a call, other things conflicted. I had up front asked how long a job such as this would take and was told a day to a day and a half, which seemed reasonable, though as you will read did not happen. Delivery charges are unreasonable and charging extra to take it off the truck and put into the house or garage is just ludicrous given the amount of money being spent anyway. If we're paying for an installer, then that person should bring everything needed for an install. One of the advantages of using a company like this is that they are supposed to arrange everything. Communication seems to be an issue in this regard. Since our vanity would be up on legs instead of flush to the floor, additional baseboard would be required. I had provided photos of everything along with measurements and the designer came out to confirm them. Some how the communication that additional baseboard would be needed was not transmitted as it did not come with the delivered materials nor did the installer know anything about it. He had to spend half a day tracking it down whilst his co-worker sat around waiting for him. And, the baseboard is not an exact match, which is do-able as it is on the other side of the room but not the level of quality one expects for the price being paid. I do have to say that the installer was very good, responsive and kept the area clean. When there was a leak in the plumbing after the install he responded promptly to my email. I get that things happen but it is the response to them that is a true indicator of professionalism. A piece of trim for the base of the cabinet at the top of the legs had been built into the design. One would think trim would be a piece applied to the face of the unit but this turned out to be an approximately 1" (thick) x 4" x ~ 6' piece that was cut to length and sandwiched between the legs and the base. What it was and how it was to be used was a mystery to the installer as well when he first took it out of the long packaging, which I mistakenly had believed contained the aforementioned baseboards. It also made the cabinet almost an additional inch taller. We had wanted a taller vanity, this pushed it to almost too tall for me; ok for my husband. So again "do-able" but not optimum. Measurements had been taken to ensure that the back and side splash would not interfere with the existing wall outlet but the 1" trim caused that to be an issue as well. The technician measuring for the countertop cut said that they would reduce the height of the splash to accommodate this problem. However, the outlet face plate still had to be cut down during the installation of the side splash. Having the cabinet up that additional 1" does cause some interference with the use of plugs that have adapters on the end besides making it a bit too tall for me. Another communication issue was with the sub-contractor who was to measure for the countertop template. Firstly I would have expected that this sub would have been scheduled by Signature for the afternoon or next day after the base cabinet was in place. This not only did not happen, it turns out that apparently the sub was supposed to call me to set this up and by the time this multi layered communication all happens, yet another week goes by. Also the employee at this sub who was doing the scheduling was quite rude though the template tech was very good. Lastly, this cabinet was chosen after much consideration of options because not only was it taller but it would accommodate my double tiered pull out shelves from the old unit. Well it was supposed to. The installer had to make an accommodation which allows one of the pull out units to function but it has to come out at an angle and glides very stiffly. I think one of the most audacious things, which may have been a product of poor communication, is that I was contacted by Signature immediately after the installer began the installation of the cabinet and asked for full payment! The cabinet is not even installed, the baseboards were not in, the template had not been done, a cabinet door was damaged and yet payment was expected. The project was anticipated to start mid-May but actually started June 10th but the 1 day install of the cabinet took several days due to the baseboard issue. The template measurement happens June 16th, the rest of the install is on July 1st and the replacement door, which was reported right at the beginning, did not get installed until July 20th. A month and 10 days approximately for only a vanity, countertop and sink! Albeit a very attractive vanity, counter and sink, I cannot say that it is worth the cost and aggravation. I am very glad that the project was not any larger. We are planning a full remodel of another bathroom and we will NOT be using Signature for this. The talent of the designer and the professionalism of the installer is the only thing keeping me from giving this contractor an F for professionalism. Punctuality was based on the length this project took though the designer and installer kept their appointments promptly.
