Do not use this company if you want someone who is honest and stands behind their work. Even though states there is a warranty the owner does not stand by it. <br> <br> Update as of 08/13/2017: <br> I agree I did not return his call immediately as I was hesitant to have work repaired by same company whose employees did not handle the job properly. I have a phone text from owner stating he would be happy to meet me Friday or Monday which I e-mailed him on July inquiring if he could meet with me on Wednesday. I did not hear back from him. He states in his response he contacted me 5 times I have no record of such calls. <br> <br> Not receiving a response from owner I arranged for work to be done. On July 21 I e-mailed the owner stating I had made other arrangements and requested a refund since I was still under his warranty time frame. The owner replied "That's no problem. I told you have to follow through. This is our busiest time of year. I apologize for the delay. I'll send you the money. Just please make sure you make a note on the review that things were taken care of." <br> <br> As of August 13th I have still not received payment for work. As previously stated in my review the contractor scrapped a few areas and painted over it there was absolutely no retexturing or priming.

"[Member Name Removed], When I spoke to you last week about your email, we replied with in one hour. I believe you sent it on a Thursday. We asked you for an appointment the following week. After two calls to your residence or cell phone with no response. You asked me to scrape off the loose texture on your bathroom ceiling. I didn't know this had been going on for years. We scraped off the loose texture and reapplied the texture after a primer coat. The work we are talking about would take us less than a half of day to repair. So please don't make this out to be something more than it is. This is a minor repair and no matter what we stand behind our work. Your critical reviews costs the company future work. It is extremely unsettling for such a negative review over something so minor. Prior to the work, we had scheduled four or five appointments with you previously and you cancelled on the last minute. However that does not the effect the quality of our work. We kept our appointments and accommodated your schedule. If you could please call our offices, at your convenience, we will happily take care of this issue. As we stated before. Mike"

Everything was done very well. The painting took a few days because it was done by just one person. Painting the doors & trim requires the door to remain open for a few hours to dry, so I am glad there weren't any mosquitoes or extremely cold weather.

In October of 2106, I employed Silver Oaks to refinish my kitchen cabinet doors and they did a good enough job that I asked them to refinish my entry way floor. They sent the same worker to do the floor. I later found out that this worker had absolutely no experience in refinishing floors. After sanding the floor, he did not clean it and the stain was applied over dust, lint and paint brush bristles. These are now stuck to the floor underneath the stain and the finish. I called the owner and even sent him pictures of this. The owner scheduled an appointment to come see the floor, but never showed up. Instead, he sent another contractor who confirmed that the floor had been done incorrectly. I spoke with the owner, and he told me he would pay to have the floor restained. The contractor was supposed to be available in about a month. Since then, I have not been able to get in contact with the contractor and now Silver Oaks is refusing to refinish the floor. So I am out $2182.50 and my entry way looks pretty bad considering the money I spent to have it refinished.

My small business depends on the satisfaction of the customer. I did offer to fix the areas that needed attention and any touch ups as I do every job. In fairness, I tried to help and offer to split the cost of your request. I hope we can come to a reasonable solution. I would like to find a time that's convenient for you, so we can send someone over to fix these areas. After you have had traffic on the floor for 4 months, I do not feel it is reasonable to completely refinish the floor, sand the floor back down and re-stain. I don't believe the pictures that you posted are of the condition we left the job site of the floors. I am sure I would have heard from you right away. I believe you just called back because you wanted a clear coat added that wasn't part of the original estimate. I agreed to add a clear coat at a minimal fee. The crew was unprofessional. They were messy, played loud music. They tripped my exterior outlet and so had to use one of the interior ones. They would step in to charge their phones. I absolutely didn't like it. Also, they gave me quote on fixing my door jams and then their carpenter gave me a completely different story. The paint job was left incomplete and then I had to call the office and complain for them to finish the whole job on a Saturday. The brushes were washed in my yard and they left a big paint mess. I noticed paint also my roof and had to ask them to clean it up. Over all, a poor job.

No project management oversight. They left me to mange their sub contractors. Doors and windows were both installed incorrectly and the painting has already begun to peel. Didn't pay one of the subcontractors their portion of the project. The only thing they were good at was running over to pick up a check. Suggest you find alternative 'contractor' than to risk these guys.

However, we feel it is absolutely unfair of you to write such a Negative review when we were in constant communication with you throughout the project. There were times when you texted us or called us at 6 a.m. in the morning or 11 p.m. at night and we responded. Throughout the course of the project, there were over 35 emails exchanged and over 200 text messages. In my opinion, that is a lot of communication. As far as any quality of work, you were unsatisfied with the way the masonry turned out. We immediately had our Masonry installer, who has 35 years experience, come back out and complete the work to your satisfaction. Then, you said the doors were not level, we came back out immediately and fixed that even though they opened and closed freely. Once the brick was applied, the doors needed to be adjusted, which is typical in this scope of work. As far as not paying our subcontractors, everyone has been paid to date. You mentioned you were ordering a new garage door after a week went by, which was not in our contract and delayed our final payment up to 30 days. We worked our contractors on other jobs to pay them the difference until we received final payment from you. We were promised final payment 3 times, we stopped out on three different occasions and there was never a check there. I believe that the quality of our work was excellent, otherwise, you would not have hired my subcontractors to come back out and work for you behind my back. It was surprising to pull up on your property and see that our subcontractors were working for you directly. I believe that is highly unethical, but to each their own. When we originally gave you the price for the door installation,that was for just the door installation. When we needed to add an additional header, we added them at virtually cost, even though it took many extra man-hours. As far as my supervision on the job, I stopped out at the project four times during the construction process. My brother was out there on two separate occasions for the entire day as a supervisor and laborer. He made sure that everything was cleaned up properly and if anything was needed, he could go pick up any additional materials or coordinate with the homeowner at any given time, keeping the production at a high level during the process. My office manager was in constant communication with you the entire time. She made sure everything was going smoothly and you were happy with the work being done. She checked in with you multiple times to make sure the process was up to your satisfaction. We had a few adjustments to make and took care of them in an efficient manner. As a small business, we strive to go the extra mile communicating with our customers. We feel as a professional, we went out of our way to make you happy. Even though you nickel-and-dime to me on every single item. Saying that should have been included,. It clearly said so in the contract it was not included but yet I went ahead and did it and went the extra mile for you. We should be able to write reviews about the customers. Because I wouldn't recommend anybody working for you. You will be lucky to come away with the shirt on your back. I go way above and beyond for every customer. Even if it means losing some money on a job. I always do the right thing and it's a small business we continue to do the right thing even when we're not treated fairly. Not everybody out there has integrity nowadays, but I sure do know that we do."

Mike was courteous and helpful when he first came to give the estimate. The team of painters that came in and worked hard, got the job done and the walls look great. Any touchups that were needed were taken care of quickly and I would certainly hire this company again.

Painter stopped paint about 1" above carpet on all baseboards. Had to go around and correct. Accent wall next to wall painted white had to go and adjust painting to have even lines. Several spots of paint on carpet that had to clean up; paint on door knobs which I cleaned up. Requested ceiling to be retextured where it was peeling up, instead contractor scraped the ceiling and painted it. There are areas that are still needing address on ceiling which I will correct. I failed to remove the blinds in a window contractor removed blind and layed on floor and they were stepped on. Ended up with a slat being broken. Office personnel did call and request I make sure I was happy before staff departed.

Not impressed. The crew was unprofessional. They tripped the circuit and asked to use my indoor socket. I doubt the house was pressure washed though they claimed they did. At the end of the job, I noticed, our brand new roof had paint streaks on it. The trim, garage doors and shutters had not painted at all. Had to call the office and a painter was sent later for that job. They did not bring their own paint and I was asked to provide paint for that. Also, after the job, the crew washed their paint brushes and left a a huge puddle of paint water in my backyard. In the chimney area, the caulking was not done. Over all, just a messy horrible job. This was the cheapest quote I had got and I should have realized that the job would be cheap too.

Working with Silver Oaks was a very pleasant experience. I called to set up an inspection for an estimate. Mike was over the next day and provided a detailed estimate that evening. Mike was very helpful in explaining what the scope of work should be. The crew was on time. Alex and the crew were very courteous and careful not to cause any damage damage to roofing, shrubbery and lawn furniture. When they left for the day (two day job) their equipment neatly stowed in my backyard and without trash. I was impressed with the fact that Alex ensured all ran well and carefully inspected the work. <br /> I delayed writing my review because I wanted to see that the paint was adhering and that I would not run across any undiscovered defects. I'm happy to say the paint job looks as good as the day it was completed and I have not run across any undiscovered problems. <br /> I did not bid the work out. Time was a factor and I wanted someone with an excellent reputation for quality service on Angie's list and hopefully avoid any kind problems. <br /> I am a happy camper! <br /> <br /> <br />
