It went very well. I am very happy with their work. I had some concerns and he addressed them all, very pleased with his work.

This was a total disaster. The many issues will sound unbelievable to many but I can back up every claim with copies of contracts, e-mails, text messages, checks paid and photographic evidence. I hired Jeffrey Simmons in October 2014 to paint the interior and exterior of my 2600 sq foot home. As of today, April 27, 2015 - six months later- the painting has not been finished. As a courtesy, I gave him two weeks to finish the work before I hired someone else to finish painting and correct areas that had to be touched up, and to clean the mess Mr. Simmons had left behind. This was done by sending him a notarized, detailed letter explaining the terms of this ultimatum. He still came up with excuses and didn?t show up.  <br /> <br /> The excuses were a pattern from the beginning. Even though he collected payment ?to meet payroll,? he gave excuses on a regular basis as to why he couldn?t come over. I finally decided to hold the last payment of $1,200 (out of a total of over $9,000) until he finished. The excuses continued - for an additional four months - with ?I?m afraid you won?t pay me for all my work,? even though I continually reminded him that money was not the issue and that I had paid in the past even when he was not showing up to work.  <br /> <br /> After he collected almost 85% of the money (after the first two months,) he decided to work on his own terms, took a very familiar tone in his communications with me, and sent offensive text messages and e-mails when asked for updates and expected timeline for completion. If this weren't enough, he threaten me several times with all sorts of ridiculous legal action; my favorite: "I have already contacted a judge downtown who will issue a document that will not allow you to enter your property again until you pay me."  <br /> <br /> The crew changed almost every week because as Mr. Simmons explained, ?[he] had to fire them.? He only has ONE painter, his cousin, who stuck around. This constant change of (untrained?) workers came with a slew of unprofessional painting practices and techniques and resulted in the following:   <br /> <br /> - mixed results in the quality of work from good to abysmal  <br /> <br /> - over-spraying on windows, trim, screens, etc. <br /> <br /> - cleaned the buckets of paint on lawn leaving large areas of white patches on grass. <br /> <br /> - spills on concrete and tile floors <br /> <br /> - used old ladders without rubber padding causing metal to scratch brand new wood floors. These scratches are all over the house and the patterns reflect ladder usage. <br /> <br /> - left mouse sanders on furniture, damaging finish of expensive built-in bookcases. <br /> <br /> <br /> I have hired a new professional painting company to address all problems that Mr. Simmons left me with. The new painter has confirmed that the work is subpar and ?done by amateurs.?

When I need more painting done, Jeffrey Simmons will be the first person I call.  He is honest, hardworking, and does the job to your satisfaction. Besides all of that, he actually shows up on the job when he says he's going to be there.  If Jeffrey says he will be at your house on Friday morning at 9:30, don't be surprised if he shows up at 9:00. He does excellent work.  When he leaves the job, everything is cleaned up and orderly. it's also nice to know that the guy you hired to do the painting, actually does the painting.  When he does have to leave the job, his two workers keep right on painting just as though the boss is still there.  There's no loafing around or talking on the cell phone while the boss is away. Our newly painted deck, trellis, stairs, and lower deck look terrific! I couldn't be happier with the job that he did.

Was able to work me in very short notice which was especially helpful. Completed the whole process a day early, and came back to do spot checks. Don replied quickly to my queries for cost. I would use him again, and recommend him to others. <br />

Mr Simmons willingly accepted our small project. When he arrived for the estimate, he was a little early. He gave me a reasonable estimate, and scheduled it for my convenience. He was early again for the day he did the job. He was professional, courteous,  prompt and reasonable. I was happy with the work performed, and I would use him again and recommend him. <br />

it went very well, the kitchen didn't reall take after he redone the ceiling popcorn area but he stated to me before he left if it din't take he would return and repaste it. I called a few weeks later and he responded right away and did an outstanding job.

<p>Jeffrey knew the painting task was going to be extensive and would take a long time to complete since the home was built in 1940.  He also knew we were preparing the home for sale since my Mother had gone into Assisted Living.  The painting was to be accomplished in various phases, and he was open to completing the job over an extensive period of time.  Before he started, he carefully explained what his estimate covered.  Initially, we excluded closets  because they were in fair shape, but we later added them at an extra cost because his work was excellent.   He began by painting the interior, and since we had to do repairs to some areas. he worked within our schedule to get the interior completed.  The interior walls were plaster so they required more work than if working with drywall.  He skimmed the walls to make sure most of the imperfections were taken care of and finished as well as possible.  He also painted the new kitchen cabinets and all of the trim work that was new in each room.  Jeffrey worked with us to insure the house looked as well as could be based on the age of the walls.  Since the kitchen was gutted, this room required a lot of painting on the cabinets and walls and since wallpaper had been removed from the kitchen, a lot of skimming of the walls was done. He removed all drapes and covered the areas to prevent any paint damage to the floors and furniture. He also recommended a carpenter to do the exterior repairs.  They worked together as each area was painted.  He worked within our schedule and if something needed to be changed, he was open to making those changes and often offered better suggestions.  </p> <p>Jeffrey was pleasant and dedicated to completing high quality work at a more than fair price based on the work that had to be done. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> </p> <br />

I have never had my house professionally painted before, so perhaps my expectations were different, but I honestly feel that the majority of the paint job looks as if we had done it ourselves, and we are not good painters.  The great room (2-story walls) looks very nice, and I certainly give them the credit they deserve for that room.  However, the other rooms could have been nicer.  There are spots that aren't even painted completely, in corners and along trim.  They were fast, taking only 1 week to paint an entire 2500-ft house.  However, I think the paint job reflects the amount of time spent.  It looks rushed.  They didn't take the time to take the bathroom hardware off the walls until I asked them specifically to do so.  So the streaks of the brush vs. roller are obvious in those areas.  This is also true for other hardware - electrical outlets, thermostat cover, air return register, etc., and not only are those areas streaky, but there is paint on the hardware themselves (that they partially cleaned up, but I am finding myself scraping paint off of counters, walls, floors).  Additionally, they indicated that they would repair minor drywall issues, but I didn't feel that they did the best job on this either.  In fact, I wish we would have done it in advance anyway so that it would look nicer.  Perhaps, my perfectionistic personality is coming through, so someone who is need of a quick paint job and isn't going to go crazy about the details would be perfectly happy with this company. <br />

My wife pointed out some things that could have been better, and they solved all of teh issues and did a great job overall. <br />

He is very thorough and very prompt. He is good at what he does. If he can’t do something, he will tell you can’t. He is honest and very nice and personable. He comes when he says he will. He cleans up behind himself.
