S & J Scapes

We hired Sam and his outstanding crew to repair the bottom third of our driveway and the wood retaining wall which was rotting. Sam devised an actual drain with a grate which he drained out to the side, this solving the water problem. The stone retaining wall is fantastic (and maintenance free) and was tied into the concrete with rebar which was also laid on main drive before pouring the concrete. His crew was VERY polite and easy to work with and worked as hard as any men I have ever witnessed. The project took about 8 days from start to finish. They came when they agreed to start and didn't leave until the project was 100% done. In these days when it is so hard for a homeowner to find a contractor to do great work at a fair price, it was so fantastic working with Sam and his team. I cannot say enough good things about these guys and I will call them for sure if I ever need such help again. Thanks, Sam!

We hired S & J Scapes to totally revamp our landscaping based upon reviews here at Home Advisor. We were not disappointed. The project included removal of 16 holly bushes, juniper plants, dead shrubs, tree trimming, new sod, new drainage, install irrigation system, new fencing and enhancing curb appeal. The estimate was affordable, performed on time and Sam Johnson went over and above project requirements to satisfy us. I feel confident in recommending this company to anyone for all of your outside home needs. Walter H.

After researching several landscape architects, we chose S & J Scapes based on the excellent customer reviews compared to other companies. We hired the firm to complete a major redo of our entire backyard. This included laying significant underground drainage fields, adding approximately 200 cubic yards of new soil, adding screened topsoil, sodding the yard with Zoysia grass, adding three flower beds (including flowers and bushes) with stone edging, and providing additional concrete replacement for a portion of the driveway. Sam Johnson (the Owner) provided very clear descriptions and pricing of his recommendations up front. He was pleasant to work with and his work crews were very polite throughout the job. Everyone involved would clean up before leaving for the day. Total project took almost 4 weeks (including rain delays), but once work could begin, there was no wasted downtime. We could not be happier with the final project. Sam does what he says he will do and does not try to reprice or upsell after the job begins, even if his costs were more than expected. We highly recommend S & J Scapes and will use this firm again. Thanks Sam!

Best experience I had with a contractor. Did not mess around or try to up sell me. Ask what I wanted and I ask what he recommended. We both came to an understanding and 2 days later I had a 100 sf retaining wall. I will be using this company again!

Sam from S & J Scapes is the best contractor I have ever hired. That complement does not come easy as I myself did contracting and am very detail oriented and expect top quality. My wife also felt she could trust Sam to do a quality job. I have other projects coming up and will definitely put S & J Scapes at the top of the list.

We had S&J install a french drain, tying in three downspouts to manage our yard drainage problem. Their work crew did excellent work, they were courteous and professional, worked very hard to complete the work when they said they would and left virtually no trace that they were there. Scheduling the quotation, working out the details of the job and scheduling the work itself were also very easy and professionally done. Overall I would definitely recommend S&J for any landscaping work and will certainly have them at the top of my list for any future work needed.
