Smart Solar Power

I was very pleased with the installers.  The company notified us when they would be coming, there were there on time and within 3 days the work was completed.  Throughout the installation process they communicated with me.  They were very good about finishing touches such as touch up painting.  They took the time to explain how the system was turned on and what we could expect from Southern California Edison.  They also installed an system connected to the internet that tracks production which I check regularly.  Later they notified us when a disruption of the internet met the system needed to be reset and they explained how to do that.

I have absolutely no complaints about Smart Solar Power. There was no pressure sales on the front end and the sales people were extremely knowledgeable about the county programs available (HERO here in San Bernardino County) to assist us in owning the panels. The installers did a neat and professional installation, right down to painting the conduit to match the house. The system has been on for 6 months now and I have been closely tracking the daily production versus the usage at Edison. We have been spinning the meter backwards, even when running an air conditioner. (However, when it hits over 100 degrees, I expect that we will use more than we produce. This is expected.) We have had no service issues nor any malfunctions so far.

We contacted seven local solar panel companies in the areas of Yucca Valley / Palm Springs / Riverside / San Bernardino, to install a ground-mounted solar power system for our house in Yucca Valley. Only two of those companies would do a ground-mount (the others only did roof-mount). Smart Solar was responsive in sending a designer out to help us identify and configure the right type of system, while the other company (don't recall their name) said it would take 4 to 6 weeks before someone could come survey our site. Mike McCue was our primary contact at Smart Solar and he provided a few different options for the PV panels and for financing the installation. We liked the "HERO" program which adds the cost of the solar panel system to the property taxes; however, we had a loan deal through our credit union. After signing the contract, it only took a few weeks for Smart Solar to get the supplies/equipment. They took care of getting necessary building permits, as well as the forms for Southern California Edison (SCE). It only took two days for the installation, including digging holes for concrete to install the support  posts, digging a trench from the panels to the house, getting the building permit inspection completed, and mounting the panels. They were very thorough and cleaned up the area. They even helped install a water line from the house to the panels in the same trench (different depth), so we can wash off the panels. After installation, they monitored the process for SCE to approve the system for operation, which took about three weeks. Since our system has been in operation, Smart Solar has provided prompt service to fix the remote data download/access device, and they follow-up with phone calls every once in a while just to see how things are going. <br /> We highly recommend installing a solar panel system - our monthly electric bill ranges from $6 to $18, and we got a $217 refund from SCE after the first full year in operation.

Install location (Riverside County) is challenging due to red tape. Smart Solar got the job planned, approved and installed well under the estimated time.

Whenever I had a question, I would call Christine and she would provide the answer I needed in the most cheerful manner, she was a joy to work with.  Smart Solar took care of the permits and inspections needed and the installers were very skilled.  My solar system is now producing more power than I use and last December SCE sent me a rebate check for the excess power produced.  I love watching the meter run backwards knowing that my Smart Solar system is doing its job.

Great!  After choosing Smart Solar as our installer, they started the process of installation right away.  They got the appropriate approvals and such from the city and SCE and kept me informed the entire time.  They came when they said they would and did an excellent job.  My system has been up and running for 8 months, and I am very happy with my purchase.

Great. The guys were kind, helpful, clean and patient with my kids' questions during installation.
