Smith & Rogers Flooring - Dan Rogers

If you want someone to take the old floor out and put new floor down they will do that. However, if you have any attention to detail I would use caution. The grout lines are inconsistent throughout the floor in both directions. Also, the tiles do not sit flat with raised corners/edges on some tiles and others buried in grout. The grout also contains little holes throughout. The owner came out to review and agreed to refund some of the install cost and said his son (who performed the work) would send the check right away. After multiple texts stating he was going to pay it has been over 3 months and still nothing. It's my own fault for paying before inspecting but that's what I get for letting the grout dry.

I called Smith & Rogers and left a message requesting an estimate for removing existing tile and replacing it with another floor tile also installing one full wall of mosaic tile all in our powder room. I received a timely response to set up an appointment. Bill came out and gave us an estimate which we accepted. He was very professional and very nice to work with. Dan Rogers and his helper Dave arrived on time and immediately started doing the work. They laid the tile and returned the next day completing the grout. They did am excellent job of cleaning up at the end of each day. After a day or two, I could see a haze or film on some of the floor tiles. I called Dan to ask for his advice as to what to use to help clean it. Dan said they would return and take a look. He and Dave returned and applied a solution that took care of the problem. We are delighted with our completed powder room and will be calling Smith & Rogers again soon to replace our existing shower.

They did a fantastic job. They were conscious of the marble pieces didn't like as well and used those in less conspicuous places. We had a decorative herringbone accent that looks amazing. I couldn't be more pleased with the result! I would definitely recommend them and use the next time we need tiling.

When removing the toilet to remodel my bathrrom, several tiles came up with it.  The floor was original to the house (68 yrs old) with a cement subfloor.   Since this is the only bathroom in the house, Dan agreed to start the job on Saturday.  I bought my own tiles and they completed removing the rest of the floor, applied two layers of leveler, layed the new tile and grouted.  It took four days.  When the rest of the remodeling was done they came back and reinstalled the toilet.  They were always punctual and very curtious.  Every tile cut was perfect!  The floor looks AMAZING!  I would recommend them to everyone who needs a reputable company that knows what they are doing.

It could not have gone any better.  They were timely and pleasant during the initial consultation.  They provided an estimate which they adhered to.  They kept in touch leading up to the scheduled start date and did NOT ask for a deposit in advance.  The crew showed up on time the first day and every day.  The demo went well.  They worked tirelessly each day.  There were 3 to 4 workers every day and each was polite, appropriate and skilled.  They cleaned up at the end of each day and finished the job ahead of schedule.  They had planned on a full 5 days and possibly another half day but finished in 4 and one half days, and for the original amount they quoted from the beginning.  The bathroom was up several flights of stairs.  They did all of the messy work outside, which meant hundreds of trips up and down the steps.  They prepped the floor, meticulously cut and laid the tile, grouted the work and finished the toe moldings.  When they were done they scrubbed down the outdoor work area, vacuumed carpets inside, and left everything in better shape than they found it.  The finished product is beautiful.  We haven't been able to find a single minor defect in any of the work and there was roughly 500 square feet of tile. <br />

<p>Dan was very professional and kept all his appointments.  He was very meticulous and made sure I was completely satisfied with the job he had completed.  He even volunteered to fix a loose till in the laundry room without my asking him.  The tiles look great and I have received several compliments from friends who visit.</p> <br />

I hired Smith and Rogers to install tile in my laundry room.   I was able to get the estimated done on a Saturday which was great. My only complaint is that I had to call three times to get the job scheduled.  Once I got a call back they were able to install the tile the next day which I appreciated because they knew I was in a rush to get the job done.   Dan and Jason did a great job. They arrived on time and worked efficiently.  I chose a multi color tile and Dan did a good job of arranging the tiles so that the colors looked random.  They came back the next morning to grout the tile which was also done quickly.  I also liked that I only had to provide the tile and grout and they brought the rest of the supplies.  Their price sounded a little high at first but once I factored in the supplies that they provide I could see that they were reasonably priced. I would recommend Smith and Rogers if you are looking for a good tile installer. <br />

I really can't say enough good things about Dan.   He's just a good person.   Honest, reliable, friendly, great at what he does, trustworthy.   Everything they installed turned out great.   Dan was super helpful in helping me pick out and purchase the necessary tile.   Always there to answer any questions or talk things through.   Dan and Larry did a great job on all the projects.   Really clean.   Very mindful of dust and trying to maintain a clean workspace which is tough during demolitions and installs.    Everything turned out great.   Really couldn't be more happy with the experience.   We even encountered an unforeseen plumbing issue that Dan took time of his weekend to diagnose and resolve.    Above and beyond the call of duty.    I would use Smith and Rogers again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them. <br />

They installed backsplash above the bathroom sink and shelves. Backsplash is made from mosaic tiles that comes in sheets 12x12. They installed a total of 8ft, but it was not a single sheet that could be installed without adjustment because of outlet, switch, cabinet above,etc. In some areas they had to work in tight quarters, but everything is done very neatly and was completed in less than 3 hours. Next day they came to grout and caulk. <br />

Upon calling they were quick to respond. I received an estimate in a few days from Bill, who is very nice. They started the job the following week. Quote was right on the money and they cleaned up and were very professional. I would not hesitate to recommend them for tiling and will use them again. <br />

Dan and Larry were great to work with.  Not only were they very skilled at tile work, they provided great advice to give us a classic but unique look in our Master Bath.   <br /> When they did the demolition in the Master Shower, because the existing walls had been framed around a pre-fab shower base, they found we had an extra foot of space to enlarge the shower.  They were very reasonable pricing the change and new framing of the shower.   <br /> Since we were using travertine, as with most natural stone, the tiles were not exactly of the same thickness.  They were patient and meticulous in their work and every tile looks perfect. <br /> We are ecstatic with the way it turned out, and I would hire them again without hesitation. <br />

I called several providers and these guys are the only ones to reply. They came the next day to measure and give a quote. The day after they were on the job. Came on time every day and cleaned up every day. They had great suggestions. They itemized everything so I could do some of the work too like demo. While installing the baseboard I noticed the gap on the baseboard register was too big. They came out the next  day and fixed the oversight. The job looks great...we would certainly use them again. Went perfectly. They are trustworthy and could leave them the garage opener to get in while I was at work. Worked quickly and neatly and always do a good job.  The price includes the heat mats and thermostat <br />

It didn't include materials, we bought them. It was all good experience. He did a great job. He showed up when he was supposed to. He gave us a good price. I'd give them an A for all of them. We did use them several times and that's always been a good experience.

Bill did a beautiful job and we love our new backsplash. He cleaned up so well at the end of each day you hardly knew he was there. When he gave us our estimate he gave the quote based on the worst case scenario, having to replace all the drywall, but he was able to save most of it so our final cost was lower than the initial estimate. How often does that happen? Overall it was a very good experience and we would use the company again. <br />

These poor guys!  For almost a month we could not get them to return our phone calls, but after further investigation their VM provider was not notifying them of the VMs.  After we reestablished communication through the tile supplier, they were superb! Our new bathroom floor is a tribute to their workmanship.  After thirty days of use, we do not see any flaws.  We would definitely recommend them for tile.   <br /> I do hope they fired their VM provider!!! <br />

I had a wonderful gentlemen caulk our master shower in 2012. He did a great job. In the past six months, I have called this company three times to inquire about this man doing the same for my other two showers in my home. I have never received a phone call back from each of the three calls.  <br /> Shame on me for continually trying to call these people who obviously do not want my business.  <br /> It is a shame because the shower guy was terrific!  <br />

They were very professional and did a great job.  The bathroom looks fantastic!  Scheduling was straightforward.  They stayed on schedule and finished on time.  I would definitely hire them again. <br />

This was a great experience. Smith and Rogers was so friendly, trustworthy, responsive, and professional. I contacted the company in January/February to get an estimate on my project.  After interviewing several companies, reading Angie's List reviews, and talking to a friend who had used them in the past, Smith and Rogers seemed like the best company to work with.  I contacted them in late April to confirm that I was ready to move forward with the project and they were able to start in May. <br /> The project took about 3.5 days in total. Dan and his crew arrived early on the first day and worked straight through to finish up faster than expected.  They were able to offer suggestions on things like the type of tile to use (I worked with a great person at Hamilton Parker per their suggestion), replacing the baseboards with tile, the location of the shower shelf, the height of the mosaic tile, replacing the shower head, etc.  The shower and floor look amazing. They took care to make sure I could access my one commode during the entire project. I even had to go out of town and felt comfortable giving them access to my home. <br /> The total cost of the project was about $3,400 which includes the cost of the materials, so the labor for the project was closer to $2,300. I will be using Smith and Rogers again in the future. <br />
