The job was started May 8th 2023 & complete on May 10th 2023. I was assured I would be happy once dried. It was terrible!! Brian Berts (Owner) agreed it needed to be redone. That was 3 months ago! With many promised dates & delays since! I’ve been very patient with his delays due to his business issues ( financial, weather, other jobs etc..,) now have lost my patience. I live on an up scale residential area and my driveway is an embarrassing slop job!

"On May 8th, we did a crack repair followed by a resurfacing. This was the first time we have attempted a resurfacing with this new product. The crack repair went well with the epoxy we used. The resurfacing did not go as planned. The material, after mixing, went down wet and got completely hard in a matter of minutes. There was no working time to apply the seashell design as desired. Also, the laps were highly visible and had to be rubbed down after application. We offered to redo application at no cost to client, but would need to be applied when the weather had cooled down (Oct/Nov) to insure a better quality product. The client did not want to wait, so we will be giving a refund for the resurfacing. Solid Foundation Contractors, LLC does not offer resurfacing of concrete. It was a one time application and is not recommended. We do apologize to the client for the inconvenience."

The replacement was completed as per the estimate on Feb 23, 2022. I was advised that the finisher would need to return a second day due to the concrete being "too wet". Within three months the new driveway cracked in several areas. Upon advising the company about my concerns and requesting a written evaluation of the cause I was told the concrete "has no warranty", that "it's a crack, I'm not coming". The company felt that they were just to busy to come back to evaluate and give a written evaluation.

"[Member Name Removed], I do apologize for your disapproval. I never interacted with you personally, it was always Babara [Member Name Removed]. I did actually go to examine the crack and took some pictures. I never did say I would not come out, only that I would when I could, not when you wanted me too. Due to the nature of the crack, and how it splits. It looks as if too much pressure was applied in one area. I know you had furniture delivered a couple of weeks after the project, that was the reason to expedite it. It seems to me that something very heavy was in that area before it had a chance to fully cure, which usually takes 31 days. So again, I apologize for your bad experience. We do carry 1 year warranties with all work. Finishing concrete that is too wet is aesthetic and would have nothing to do with cracking. But as much as we do too control cracking, there is no guarantee that it won't as I have told you prior to and after the work was finished."

Brian & his son arrived when scheduled, did a great job and cleaned up the area after the project was completed, then stayed to make sure the concrete was curing adequately before they headed out. Very easy to work with and would definitely use them again.

It went well, he came when he said he would or he called to let me know if he couldn’t make it . They did a good job on the project, it was the second one I had him do. They did all the prep work also and did it all at a reasonable cost.

Brian is incredible. He was very easy, quick and responsive in his communications prior to coming over which is hard to get from other contractors. He came to my home exactly when he said he was going to be and he worked in a very focused manner. He made sure everything was perfect before he went to another step and even came to my rescue at Lowes when I got stumped on which parts to buy. He never complained about anything whatsoever and had a very kind, professional and friendly disposition. I has thrilled at the opportunity to pass along his name and phone number to my friends to take care of their remodeling and repair needs for various projects. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.
