Roberto came in right after Harvey on my daughters home that was for sale. She had an AC problem that wet the ceiling and some hardwood flooring. Roberto's guys came in and did a terrific job repairing and painting the ceiling, pulling up warped flooring and replacing it promptly. Everything looked great and we had a buyer two weeks later

Integrity, professionalism and quality. Solid Stone Manufacturing was a God-send after Harvey. While many were at the mercy of their contractor, SSM provided fair pricing, quality materials and an excellent performance. With such an overwhelming project, our Solid Stone representative walked us through each step of the tear out and rebuild process, answering thousands of questions and even taking us shopping for materials and supplies. SSM served as our general contractor, having all trades readily available, making biweekly, sometimes daily onsite visits. We are extremely pleased with the outcome. In addition, they were very helpful and proactive with documentation for the release of flood insurance funds from the mortgage company. Solid Stone Manufacturing will be our first choice for future needs.

Quality workmanship and trustworthy. Respectful of your home. Roberto Kosse added great value to the project, not only with his architectural design but also with the esthetics of your home. Honesty and integrity are high values incorporated into his work by himself and his crew. Highly recommend this Company for jobs large and small.

We worked resiliently to achieve successfully getting your home back to you. It was a challenging experience for all of us but ultimately we got it done! . Your house were remodeled with a completely different look. My staff and I were very happy working with you during this process. I used Roberto on a kitchen remodel 8 years ago. I recently used him again to remodel my bathrooms. He is an engineer so there is additional value in his opinion, and he has an eye for detail. He and his crew do an amazing job. With my kitchen, I chose a granite with a lot of variation and color. I also have lots of countertops and angles. He fabricated it so that standing at one end of the kitchen, all the lines run in one direction. He made the granite in my bathroom without seams. He is a perfectionist, and it shows. I highly recommend.

Everything went as planned and were finished prior to the timeline that was set out from the beginning. Roberto is very good at what he does and keeps you updated during all phases of the process. We wrestled with the idea of going cheaper and hiring out each phase of the renovation and doing our own general contracting work, but we are very glad we hired Roberto and his guys to help us instead. At no point during the process was i worried the job wouldn't get done in the manner we wanted it done. The master bath vanities and kitchen island were our signature pieces and Ismael and his guys built them exactly the way we wanted. The tiling was done so well we added on installing stone tile on the fireplaces. One of the fireplaces was not up to Roberto's liking so he made the tiler remove it and fix it at his own cost. Roberto looks at the job as what he would want if it were his house, so never had to worry that he would cut corners or let things not be perfect.

I found Solid Stone Manufacturing to be among the most professional contractors I have ever worked with. They were on time, courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. They advised me of the risk of removing the quartz kitchen island counter top that was installed by others, and helped me with the decisions on the other installed counter tops. They were extremely helpful with the selection of the new counter tops, and provided the pros and cons associated with each type, and understood the balance of price and preferences. Their installation team was quick, clean and courteous. The installation work was executed flawlessly, so I couldn't be happier with the product and installation. I happily recommend Solid Stone Manufacturing to everyone?

My wife and I are extremely happy with Roberto at Solid Stone Manufacturing. He spent a lot of time up front in the planning stage to make sure we made the proper selections to stay in our budget. Roberto was a delight to work with and I felt his recommendations were always in our best interest and not to hurry the job along. Roberto is very helpful and checks on the job frequently to ensure it is being done correctly. He keeps you well informed of the schedule of completion and when the contractors will arrive. Another thing we appreciated was Roberto doesn't have multiple jobs at once so as not to devote full attention as some contractors do. He sees your job through to completion with no hanging ends. Having a part of your home unusable is an inconvenience but having a job get half done is a nightmare. Go with someone who will see your job through to the end and on budget with minimal unknowns. My recommendation is overwhelmingly Roberto Kosse at Solid Stone Manufacturing.

Roberto is an excellent project manager. There were no delays in his pre-defined schedule (in fact, they performed faster than anticipated). He was very honest and up front about the scope of the work including cost, arrival / departure times, and constantly checked on progress and sent us pictures via text. He was extremely patient with all of our questions and anxieties as the work progressed, and consistently reassured us. Any large project in a home can be stressful, and Roberto did an incredible job of reassuring us and ensuring the work was performed above and beyond our expectations. The contractors hired by Roberto were extremely courteous and took pride in their work. They took time to ensure it was perfect. In fact, the gentleman who tiled our bathroom was especially impressive as he went above and beyond to ensure every tile was expertly cut and placed (there was some complex/intricate tile work as part of the scope). Each crew showed up as scheduled, and to the extent there were scope changes, the crews always returned promptly to perform additional work. Roberto took lots of time to perform measurements, assist us with selecting materials / design, and most importantly, would tell us up front about any design/installation issues that might arise with our choices, so we were able to make a decision up front about whether a certain material was right for us / our home. The work was beautifully designed and installed. It has taken us quite a while to actually write this review, but hopefully that is more helpful for readers, as we have lived in the house where work was performed for 6 months now. We could not be happier with our kitchen, and we have had no issues with any of the installation or other work performed, now 6 months after completion. Thank you Roberto & Solid Stone Manufacturing. I would highly recommend Roberto and will utilize him for any future remodel project.

I think it’s too much to ask of anyone to have a perfect project in a 30 year old house that has had foundation work in the past. That’s impossible when it comes to remodeling an older home. But Solid Stone Manufacturing handled it as perfect as anyone could. I was thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail about everything. First it began with the prep work…we put our own drop cloth over our bed to protect it from dirt and dust. But they took it to another level, came in and put plastic over all of our furniture even though our bathroom is in a separate room. They put a drop cloth to walk on through our house. They asked us to remove our belongings from the closet since they are in the bathroom. We had no problem with that especially when we saw how much dust made it under the closet door and into the closet. But after everything was done, they sent a cleaning company to thoroughly clean our closets, the bathroom and our bedroom. Solid Stone Manufacturing was originally hired to just fabricate and install new countertops, sinks and faucets in our master bathroom and upstairs bathroom. But it became a whole bathroom remodel. And Solid Stone Manufacturing orchestrated and managed a beautiful project that included granite cutting and installing, plumbers, carpenters, tile installers, painters, electricians, tile retailers, bathroom design stores for fixtures and tubs and cleaning of course. Roberto and the entire crew are professional, timely, and dependable and they all take great pride in their craft. I can’t say enough great things about the entire experience. People say when it comes to investing, you want to hire a teacher. Well your home is an investment and your master bathroom is your best seller so you want to hire a teacher to remodel the room that you wake up to and the room that you end your day in. Solid Stone Manufacturing is a great teacher. Not only did we make a great investment by using Solid Stone Manufacturing but now we have a bathroom that feels like a spa and looks like a bathroom in a magazine…as our son has said several times. Roberto met us at several tile and granite places to help us pick out the look for our bathroom. He is very helpful and knowledgeable about design as well. And what I love is that he will give you his honest opinion and explain why he believes that way but then he will leave it to the customer to make the final decision. Because of his knowledge, design skills and management abilities…we have a bathroom we love and that excites us every time we walk in.

Roberto was fantastic, he helped us with the selection of the granite and marble and had excellent ideas as to what would go best with our current cabinets and flooring. He kept us informed of the work schedule as he had electricians and plumbers in addition to the granite and marble installers. His crews were careful of the existing woodwork and were able to keep the mess down to a reasonable level.

Roberto came to our home and took very detailed measurements and then provided an estimate the next day. The estimate included two options, granite or pre-fabricated granite and included tile work for the backsplash and plumbing work. We met with him that weekend to look at the granite and pre-fabricated granite. At the granite manufacturer, he showed us full granite slabs, not small pieces and gave us his ideas on ideal granite colors and they matched with our thoughts. We went to the pre-fab granite location next where we were able to see the quality and Roberto educated us on Installation of pre-fab granite. We have a very long master bath countertop (almost 7"), so we went the traditional granite route. We then went to see tile options where Roberto showed us travertine tile samples that would look good with our granite choice. We even looked at grout samples, so that we would be sure to have the right look. We asked him what to do about our sad looking master bathtub. Roberto suggested granite to replace the seat and windowsill cultured marble and also a sliding glass door. We took his advice and were very happy. Roberto's installers came a week later and made short work of removing our old countertops and installing the new ones. The work was incredible and the detail was precise. The granite fits close to the cabinets and the seams are almost impossible to see. The following day, the backsplash was installed and the plumbing work started. The tile work is gorgeous and was done with considerable care, no large clumps of grout where a small tile piece should be. The plumbing was immaculate...clean, neat work with no swearing or unnecessary banging. The plumber Roberto works with even installed a new disposal in our kitchen since our old one was no longer working. The shower door and grout rework were excellent as well. What a pleasant experience. An additional note about Roberto... We had a top mount sink installed in the kitchen, not knowing that the granite needed to be cut in place to do that. Some dust was created, but Roberto sent someone the next day to clean and came himself to check on the work and ask for suggestions on how to improve next time. We loved working with Roberto and will do so again.
They were not the cheapest of all of the quotes I solicited, but I would use them again as they were professional, did a great job, and above all Roberto was very accessible and helped make the process transparent. He would take the time to explain the process, and explore different hypotheticals for why things would or would not work. I think it helped sell the house, which was the goal.
We had an excellent experience with Roberto. He made all our scheduled appointments and was able to work around our schedule for the install date. He came with us to pick out the slabs and was able to give us timely advice/info as we were selecting the style of granite (cost/color match/pros & cons of certain patterns). Having him there able to give us input directly was extremely beneficial in selecting the appropriate slabs. He would provide honest opinions and back up the opinions with the reasons why a particular slab would or wouldn't work with the project.
He kept up good lines of communication throughout the process and was able to effectively deal with the last minute obstacles that occur during any project. In this case, we had originally planned on installing a 1/2" plywood support for the granite on the counters, but when the installers arrived on site - they showed us a potential issue in taking that route. Because we weren't adding any molding around the edge of the granite (going for the sleek, european look), some of the plywood would have been visible from different angles in the room. The installers said they could install without the plywood - I called Roberto - he quickly came over to speak with the team and develop a path forward without using the plywood (the primary concern was the installer's ability to keep everything level without the plywood). The finished install looks great. We wouldn't hesitate to use him again on a future project.

Roberto was great at guiding us through the process. He helped us choose our granite and tiles, responding to our suggestions and providing guidance an ideas on what we could do. He talked us through the requirements and when we wanted to add on our 1/2 bath to the original kitchen contract he worked ot make sure that the granite we purchased would fit the small bath without having to buy additional granite. His prices were the best out of five companies we approached but it was his manner and knowledge which made us select him not just the price.
initially we were pleased with Mr. Kosse. He appeared professional and responded to inquiries promptly. He helped in choosing stone for our counters and bathrooms. He claims stone is "what he does". We had problems with the way the marble for our bathroom was cut, and initially he claimed "that's how it is with natural stone". When we pushed further since it looked terrible, he agreed to replace the counter top. He also did granite for our kitchen. We found out later that the support for the island is not even touching the island over hang. When we attempted to contact Mr. Kosse he did not respond. He also broke a concrete flagstone paver in our walkway which he fixed, and a few months later it was cracked again, and when we contacted him about this again he did not respond. We chose to go with the more expensive mitered edges for our kitchen counters and the work is shoddy at best with cracks in the expensive granite that we chose.
But even these we could have dealt with more privately. The worst part of Mr. Kosse's service was the people he brought into our home to perform electric, carpentry, and plumbing work. He claimed all his recommendations were licensed and he has copies of their licenses. The man he recommended for electric work, Mr. Jose Chanquin, is an unlicensed man masquerading as an electrician. Even simple rewiring that this man did, did not work. He set up the NEST thermostat in our home and caused a breakdown of our HVAC system so that we had to have another HVAC company come and fix it. We had to have an independed electrician come and rewire all the fans that were set up by this person. When we spoke with Roberto Kosse about this he assured us that since he was responsible for bringing Mr Chanquin to our home, he would refund us the money spent and get it back himself from Mr. Chanquin. However when the time came he backed out and we are yet to see our money. He also used Mr. Ruben Sillero's plumbing services in our home. We used Mr. Sillero independently (see separate review on C&R Services) and also via Mr. Kosse, we have plumbing work on our invoices from Mr. Kosse. We have since found that Mr. Sillero is also unlicensed as a plumber and obtained a permit under someone else's plumbing liceanse. Mr. Kosse knowingly brought an unlicensed plumber into our home to do plumbing work, and this is illegal. We have had trouble with our sink leaking and also a gas leak from work done by Mr. Sillero. We have repeatedly attempted to contact Mr. Kosse regarding this matter and he has been unresponsive. We believe that Mr. Kosse must have been aware of these unlicensed workers but must have been getting some sort of commission from them (though we cannot be sure) and this is why he brought these workers into our home. We believe this because whenever we attempted to contact the electrician or plumber for refunds, they advised us to speak with Mr. Roberto Kosse about the money.
IN A NUTSHELL: DO NOT USE THESE SERVICES. THIS MAN WILL BRING UNSAFE UNLICENSED WORKERS INTO YOUR HOME, and lastly his work even though he claims to be a stone specialist, is mediocre at best. STAY AWAY.

IN RESPONSE TO MR. KOSSE. Thank you for your response. You took on the job knowing full well the details of the work. You agreed on your contract to and end date in January. Because we added work on, we agreed to extend to Feb 4. You left our home (thank goodness) Feb 17, only after threats that I would cut the fee. So the threat of losing money finally made you speed up?
Also, I have never called after 11 pm. You ask me to email? I have already emailed several times. Just in case, I will also send this to you on email. Show some integrity and respond to your emails. I texted at 8:30 pm on a week day after calling during business hours and emailing several times. And you also have not had any decency to respond to a single phone call or email. A man without conscience such as yourself is a disgrace to your profession and a poor business man. Although I do not have evidence it is obvious to me that you must be making a commission off referrals of your unlicensed colleagues. My husband has not been pleased with your work so don't pretend everything ended well as you know it did not. The painter is an independent painter, unrelated to me, my husband, or any of our colleagues. Thank you for continuing your trend of posting dishonest information on Angie's List.
And our furniture was moved on Feb 11. AS PER YOUR CONTRACT THE END DATE WAS IN JANUARY. Or did you forget? And please don't forget the plumber is ON YOUR OWN INVOICES. YOU PAID AN UNLICENSED PLUMBER WITH OUR MONEY ON YOUR CONTRACT. It is illegal, and you did exactly that. That plumber that you used for work on your contract, whose license you promised us you would show, has been investigated by the plumbing board and does not have a license. No wonder you never followed through, because you were dishonest in the first place. You say you have used his services and recommended his services for years, so you must have been aware he was unlicensed. But I am sure you are still using his services. I wonder how many others have been duped by you and your referrals, but you must not mind since you must be getting a commission. Best of luck to you and your practices. And just in case, I will also send this to you in an email but I am quite sure you will not respond. You may respond on Angie's list to protect your reputation but you are unable to actually get back to me in your email. That shows what type of a business you run. It is a facade and a joke and I will make sure I do not recommend your services to any one. And I am happy to share pictures of your "high quality work". The cracks in our mitered edge granite counters and scratches in the cutting are a great example. The lack of support of the island overhand is another great example. Thank you very much. Our lawyer will be in touch.

"You got all this out of context. As I mention to all my customers, we do not provide any electrical or plumbing work. Since this remodeling involve plumbing services, per your request ,I put your husband in contact with a plumbing company. You choose to hire them. They did the work and the inspector of city of west university place did approve the plumbing work. I have documents to show all this. In regards the electrical work, is the same situation. I referred to you and your husband per your request, 3 candidates for the electrical work. You choose Mr. Chanquin. I have witnesses to probe this. All I did was to provide service to you and your husband since you mention that you were new in town coming from New York and didn't knew anybody to perform this work. Another example of my good faith in all this is that your husband ask me if I can suggest an residential alarm system and I did refer one. I hope the alarm is working good.....This job was for us a big challenge since we remodel all floors, with hardwood ( including all baseboards) , a complete master bath remodeling ( cabinets, tile, glass ), two fireplaces and Kitchen C-tops despite your painter ( very unprofessional ) in literally 30 days ( including Saturdays and 2 Sundays); despite you ordering shower valves, shower fixtures late so we couldn't follow our schedule making us to work late for several days; despite the fact that we had to wait for your painter to finish some areas in order for us to keep on; despite your painter didn't deliver on time painting the kitchen cabinets etc. I understand that the painter you hired is married with a colleague of you. That is way you never push him to finish but instead you did call me by phone screaming . This job was challenging because despite your painter, your poor timing in getting shower valves etc. purchased on time, the city of west University place inspector who took 3 days to show up ( Standard) to approve the plumbing work ( done by others by the way) we performed an EXCELLENT - HIGH QUALITY WORKMANSHIP . NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. . Finally I want to mention that your Painter damaged severely some wood-floor panels. We fix the most for free. Not to mention the mess your painter left at your stamp concrete driveway ( No Pavers). At my cost clean up my trash and others trash plus power wash your driveway and the house front for free. You never got from me anything except good manners, I was very responsive with all questions, and always making things happen so you can have your house ready on time. You told me to deliver by February 13 and we deliver on February 17th after all this. Don't forget you and your husband decide to add more work ( Master Bath Closet, etc) plus sending your furniture in the middle of work because you didn't want to pay for storage. I made a punch list with your husband the February 25th, he was pleased and I got paid in full. We deliver and all work performed by my crews was incredible. I have pictures to show all this. You need to resolve all issues with the Plumbing company you hired at your own risk and do the same with Mr. Chanquin. Please stop calling at 11:00 PM and sending text messages after 9:00 PM. From now on all communication between us will be by email."

We were very happy with the service provided by Solid Stone Manufacturing. We found their information on Angie's List, and received a quote from them. Their prices were fair and reasonable. While they were not the cheapest quote that we received, we felt that the level of service was very high. Roberto was punctual in answering emails and calls, and he made sure that we were accurately informed. For example, he let us know from the beginning that there would be an extra cost if our cabinets needed repair from damage caused by demo or the weight of new granite. None of the other companies that we received quotes from were as thorough or honest about potential extra costs. Roberto met us at a stone distributor to pick out our stone. He was patient and listened to our ideas and concerns. The demo, granite, and tile crews were punctual and worked quickly, but effectively. They cleaned up after themselves when they left, and were extremely polite while they were at the house working. We would definitely recommend Solid Stone Manufacturing to anyone looking for new granite or tile!
