Performed very well all the summer of 2011.  Did not respond to telephone call in 2012

I discovered a puddle of water in my yard . I dug down and discovered a leak in my sprinkler system. I called Tim and made an appointment to repair the leak. Tim arrived promptly at the agreed time. He determined the leak was from a backflow valve. He fixed it with a new valve. I haven't had any problem since.

We contacted Tim, the owner of Southard Landscape, to get a bid on a major overhaul of our front yard landscaping. We had competitive bids to compare pricing as well. Tim was prompt, responsive, cooperative, hard-working, and did a quality job. We did pay slightly more than the original bid, but only because we agreed to additional work that was clearly not part of the original estimate. Tim was here when he said he would be, worked h****** the project, went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with the work, and did an outstanding job. The final product looks great and everything was done according to our agreement. This was a major effort that took 2-3 weeks to complete, and we are very happy with the results.

The flowerbed is beautiful and well worth the price. Everyone worked very hard and seemed knowledgable. He did not conduct himself in a professional manner. One, it took 16 days not the one day he stated. Second he broke my gazing ball and didn't tell me. (just threw it away and I found a piece of glass hidden in the shrubs) Third he left HUGE dirt clods all around the bed. I am disabled, 82 and blind and could not go around the flowerbed for fear of falling. I had to pay someone else to haul them away, which cost me an additional $75.

Tim was very nice and professional in all of our meetings.  However I believe he can get in over his head easily with jobs.  The first and biggest issue that we ran into was when he was putting the irrigation system in while using a trencher he severed our Gas line going into our home and caused a  major gas leak.  This could have been avoided by following the law and making a Call Okie call to get underground utilities located which he did not do and is also a completely free service to which you can offer no excuses for not using.  He blamed it on the gas line being burried too shallow.  I measured the Gas line from where it was hit at to the top and it was 1.85 feet.  It is supposed to be burried at 2 feet.  I think this is a bad excuse for shotty work and carelessness.  I am thankful that noone was injured during this escapade that left me without furnace or hot water for 3 days.  During this entire ordeal Tims communication, although polite and cordial, was very sub par.  He would not answer phone calls and frequently would only respond via text message.  Next he hauled in the 10 yards of top soil to spread in the yard.  He rented a mini bob cat to haul in the dirt and ended up getting it stuck in a mud hole that formed because the irrigation lines he installed were leaking.  After that fix he came back in 2 days to fix a second leak and once again to fix 2 sprinkler heads that were leaking.  He always tried to right his mistakes but eventually you will get tired of dealing with his excuses.  The front yard was sprayed and now is completely dead and is the worst looking yard on my block.  He made it sound like he knows what hes doing but he actually had no clue.  I recently found two more leaks in the heads and opted to fix them myself instead of using his "warrantied" work which from what I have seen would only insure another revisit to fix a mistake.  The only thing that was done correctly was laying the bricks along my fence.  He did not level the dirt or break up any clumps of the fill that he brought in.  The price was very low compared to what I had excepted to pay for this type of work.  I did not ask for cheap work however I made sure and expressed that I wanted quality work done which I did not receive.   Save yourself the trouble and use a more experienced company for your work.  Tim is a good person but needs some more experience in my opinion.

Called Tim a couple of months ago for an estimate on three projects I needed done. Removing and replacing the railroad tie steps was a priority. We talked about a couple of options over the course of a couple of weeks after the intial visit. After agreeing on a plan, Tim set a date to do the work and was on time and ready the day we planned. He removed the railroad ties and replaced them with landscape pavers and blocks, then  finished off the retaining wall with matching wall blocks. The project <br /> took 3 days.  <br /> <br /> The steps look great! I could not be happier with the service, price and outcome.

Excellent customer service.  Provided honest estimate and completed work on time.  Will definitely use again in the future.

I was having remodeling work done at the same time. I called Tim and met Tim at the house. He was very prompt. We discussed the needs. Tim had good ideas for the house that saved money. Tim commenced the work on  7/25/11. We also agreed to have him mow every two weeks. He was put out some about debris being in the beds due to some of the work inside. Then he said it actually was not that much after all. It took him about 4 days to complete. I was impressed by his punctuality. When I came to look at the work, it was "good". The stone placement was mediocre and I had to have him touch it up. The backyard looked much better. The crape myrtles looked pretty good but one was dying. Time said he thinks some paint was poured where the plant was. There was no evidence of this. I did not like the "pass the buck" tone. He said he would replace if it died. It did. It took him about a week to replace it. The irrigation system was working but the hose would pop off and water would pour out until someone showed up. The house was vacant so this could have been for many hours. When I contacted Tim about it, he seemed annoyed. I know it's hard to have to go back and fix work, but customer service should be foremost. I paid in a timely fashion and help up my end of the deal. Tim always fixed the problems I had. <br /> <br /> Overall it was a good experience, but not great. I expected greatness after reading the comment by others. I would recommend Tim to others because he's good for the price. My only concern is his tone when there are problems

Excellent service. Tim was able to begin the job he quoted me 2 days early and therefore completed the job earlier then expected. Always courteous and respectful. After the job was completed my yard looked better then before the storm hit and did all the damage to my trees!!!!

I was certainly pleased with Tim and  would tell everyone he is a very helpful young man who knows his business. 

I had been calling around trying to find a reasonably priced landscaper to come in and redo my entire front yard for weeks. Why did it take weeks? Apparently everyone only wants to do the quick and easy jobs or just one aspect of a job (irrigation only). I had so many contractors either not show up, price themselves out of the work, or simply flat out refuse to bother looking at what I wanted done when I started explaining the scope of the project. <br /> <br /> At some point I made it to Southard Landscaping on my list and gave them a call. I spoke with Tim (owner) briefly giving him an idea of what I wanted to do. I think he either showed up that afternoon or at lunch the next day at EXACTLY the time he said he would meet me at the house. (It's amazing how you get impressed by the little things...) We went over the project in detail. He looked everything over and got back to me the next day beating the only other estimate I had from a larger local landscaping outfit. I am a due diligence consumer though and kept searching after Tim came out....a few weeks later we were squaring away paperwork to get the work going. <br /> <br /> I paid half upfront on a Saturday, they started on Monday and they had the job done from start to finish (demolition/irrigation/plant installation/re-sod) in about a week. <br /> <br /> There were two unforeseen hangups that I will mention because of how they were handled. The pipe from the water main was located in an odd place when prepping for the irrigation system. Instead of waiting on someone to come out and use a locator Tim took a shovel (everything on the site was marked) and dug everywhere until he found it so as to not get off schedule. Another issue that occurred right after they had installed the irrigation and were waiting on the city to inspect everything was a torrential downpour of rain that filled everything up. Instead of waiting for it to dry out, they showed up and scooped out gallons of water so that the inspection could take place and work continue. <br /> <br /> I was EXTREMELY pleased with the results and the outstanding professionalism that was displayed during the course of this project. I will be using Southard again in the future to clear trees in my backyard and possibly extend my irrigation system. <br /> <br /> Thank you very much to Tim and his group for providing excellent customer service and an outstanding new front yard for my home.

Within three days of receiving estimate Tim had performed the work requested.  The final bill was as quoted in the estimate.  The price was fair (and included plants and materials).  I had him pull up some vines and lattice which he replacedwith mature plants which appeared to be very high quality.  He also planted annuals and layed mulch as well as did some work on my sprinkler system.  Overall, he was very nice and did a great job.  You can find people with cheaper labor costs but he did a great job and I'd recommend him/use him again.

The one word I would use to describe SOUTHARD'S LANDSCAPE AND PROPERTY MAINTENANCE business and work is EXCELLENCE.  Tim Southard is polite and friendly, a smart and very knowledgeable fellow who enjoys his work and who continues to study and expand his scope of expertise.  I value communication in business relationships, and he articulately discussed all aspects of the work to be done as well as my questions, and clearly explained what I needed to know so I could make informed decisions.  He conscientiously replied promptly to my calls and requests, was on time, and even foresaw needs without being asked, as well as making suggestions regarding issues not covered by his business.  I highly recommend SOUTHARD'S LANDSCAPE AND PROPERTY MAINTENANCE and will definitely call on him again when the need arises.

Timothy has continually done well at everything. I have never been disappointed. From small to large (including very mature pecan tree pruning) the job has been above excellent.

He did good work. They were fine and did what they said they were going to do. It may have been a little pricey but it was worth it for what they were doing and I didn't have to take my time to do the work. They were very punctual and they cleaned up after themselves and hauled it away. Tim is very knowledgeable and provided good service. I was needing very specific service. He had a lot of good horticultural knowledge. He did the estimate and then brought another guy with him to help do the work. They were good. The price was a little high but I was also paying for the knowledge. He was very responsive when I called. He called back within a day or two. They were very respectful of my property.

I contacted Tim Southard based on positive responses on Angie's List. He gave me an estimate in May 2009, but something else came up and at that time I couldn't afford to have the French drain installed. I contacted him again in October 2010 and he came out to review the yard. We looked at his previous estimate, and he said it still was an accurate price for the linear feet of French drain that I wanted. (How many people would give the same estimate without adding a little bit extra and calling it inflation?!) Mr. Southard performed the work as scheduled and consulted me about my preferences on a certain detail about the job. He was polite and hard-working, and from what I can tell, the work seems to have been done well without tearing up my yard any more than necessary. I already have talked to him about doing more work for me. I am very pleased!

I spent just under $4,000 for that work. I had 8 or 9 large flower beds that were all grown up with weeds and trees and it was neglected for several years. He cleaned all that out and pulled all the roots out. He also tore down a brick planter that I had across the front of my house and replaced it with a stone planter. My experience could not have been any better, so I would give him the highest rating. One of the main things I liked was that he went over everything that he was going to do. He explained everything to me and walked through it with me and did exactly what he said he would. He was very conscientious about doing the work on time and when he said he would, and it was just a very pleasant experience. He had a nice personality and was a very nice young man.

All of these services were done at different times and each time I called he was very prompt and worked with me on what designes I had in mind and drew up plans for the walkway and the steps. He knows his stuff and has a natural eye for how how textures and colors and surfaces go together. He was always on time and very professional and personable. I will be calling him again.

Tim responded later in the evening of my call and agreed to meet me the next day to see the project. He called back with a reasonable bid, began the work and completed it promptly, to the approval of both the seller and buyers. He was friendly, professional and dependable. I highly recommend his services.
