Southern Care Lawn and Pest

Great. The man who comes to do my lawn always give me feedback on the overall condition of my grass and tells me what I am doing rights, e.g. cutting a correct heights and when I am doing something wrong, e.g. I was overwatering and he had me cut back on the irrigation system. I always wanted a great looking lawn and now I have it. Not a weed in sight and green as can be! It's so thick that it's my dog's favorite place to rest!

They were very professional and kind. Jammie the owner work alone with his guys. All of them worked hard and well together. I would use them again.

The way they answered my questions really stood out. I was disappointed at first because I was not seeing results, they explained it takes times and what I should expect. They answered all my questions.  If I had any questions I would go out there and talk to them. They were very informative on why they were doing it and how it worked and in my case why it was taking a little bit longer to see the initial results. The price was pretty typical. The people I dealt with were very professional.

Company is very professional. They go over problem area before they treat an leave a detailed  report as to what was done. They provide suggestions on now to improve your lawn and watering instructions. <br />

They came monthly and applied fertilizer and weed control.  They emailed me a summary of what was done and water recommendations.  One time they aerated and applied nitrogen. <br /> One negative incident-  after aeration, they left several mud streaks in my driveway ( I guess the vehicle tires smushed the soil plugs into the concrete ).  It looked pretty bad and I was was unable to clean it myself.  My HOA would fine me if I didn't take care of it.  Thankfully, after a phone call to Southern Care Lawns, they came out and cleared it up for free ( I guess they pressure washed it ). <br />

Had a major disagreement- Owner was argumentative and accusatory. Very Unprofessional ! Very delayed in getting back to me after leaving multiple messages . Ruined a section of my lawn during the last 6 weeks - during our rain season and tried to blame it on drought. What drought ??? It has been raining some virtually every day for the last 6 weeks. And we have been using sprinklers too. <br /> DONand quot;T USE THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Turns out a neighbor and one of my relatives also fired them . <br />

We've used Southern Care Lawns Inc. for nearly 3 years. They are very reliable and keep our lawn and shrubs looking great. After each visit they provide a detailed written report of what was done recommendations about watering or any areas of concern. The technician is always happy to answer questions. We have been very pleased with the service they provide. <br />

Back in February the weeds were taking over my lawn. I met the technician <br /> in my driveway to discus the problems I was having. The first thing he said in a <br /> rude tone was are you going to pay your bill! I cut a check and called his boss. <br /> Only to find out where Southern Care Lawns employees get their BAD attitude <br /> from. I expressed my concern about my lawn and also my neighbors lawn. We were <br /> all having problems. Also that my neighbor witnessed his employee placing a sign <br /> in the yard without putting and chemicals or fertilizer down. At this point he <br /> got really defensive and rude. John explained that if I have problems or weeds I <br /> need to call him every week and let him know. The weeds and grass color never <br /> got better. I called to express my concern only to be told that I didn?t have <br /> weeds and I was watering to much. I explained that my irrigation had been off <br /> for months for the winter. He also stated that every time he sent someone out. <br /> There were only a few weeds. I explained that my children and myself pull the <br /> weeds on Sunday before I cut the grass. So not to spread them throughout the <br /> yard. I would call on Mondays because it was fresh on my mind from working in <br /> the yard on Sundays. <br /> I called to cancel my service with Southern Care Lawns after 4 or 5 years <br /> of service. John hung up on me and sent me a bill. I called last week to speak <br /> to someone in billing department to discus the billing issue and that I did not <br /> receive the service I was billed for. John snatched the phone from the Lady I <br /> was talking to, and said ?pay it or else.? He also stated that I was a ?Jack <br /> A**? then hung up on me. I called back to ask if he spoke to all his clients <br /> that way. Then he explained that he doesn?t like me, and has never liked me, <br /> and that all I have ever done was ?B**** and Complain?. Then he also said that <br /> I was a ?F****** A** Hole? and he would send my $52.00 account to <br /> collections. <br />   <br /> <br />

They are punctual, call me the day of service to ask if there is anything else they can do, and follow up is terrific. They are all very professional and come when they say they are going to be there. Their prices are what they quote. I have used them for seven years and I have never had any problems with my lawn. They will tell you if the lawn is too dry or too wet. They will tell you what to do. My yard holds up perfectly.

We used Southern Care for years.  Initially, the special care and individualization of your yard for its specific problems and conditions was true.  But it is no longer the case and hasn't been for some time now.  Now the techs treat every yard the same.  They don't address specific issues for your yard and even when requested on a specific problem area, don't even carry the product on the trucks to do so.  For years, we've paid extra for the tree & shrub service, only to find out today that they don't even carry shrub-specific products on the trucks.  So what have we been paying extra for?  Have they just been using the lawn specific products on everything?  Lawn, trees, shrubs...doesn't matter...use the one thing for everything??  Yard after yard after yard....doesn't matter.  <br /> Despite touting on their website that their techs will identify the problems in your yard and even come back in two weeks to retreat...that has never, in the many years that we have been using them, occurred.  In fact, we waited too long to cancel and have subsequently lost several shrubs that could have been treated and saved.  So don't make the same mistake we did.  I would not recommend their service to anyone. <br />

Southern Care Lawns is a VERY unprofessional company that likes to create drama with its customers. My lawn and shrubs had problems after 9 months of their service. I asked my lawn contractor why certain things were growing well and others weren't. Did we need more fertilizer, irrigation, better choice of plants? My lawn contractor called Mike, since they were working together, and asked him to come out to explain it all to me. Mike came out and blamed everything on my lawn contractor. Then he called my lawn contractor and told him I wasn't a good customer. The lawn contractor got so angry he fired ME, leaving me in the lurch. I tried to explain that I didn't do anything but listen to Mike, but the lawn contractor was rude and cut me off, firing me again. Then a few weeks later, Mike called me and FIRED ME with no valid reason except that he didn't like the whole situation he created. This is way too much drama for me, it's only my lawn! I had another company servicing my lawn for years and only changed over because the other company told me to. I will be going back to them--MASSEY SERVICES. And by the way, there's a happy ending to the story. I found another landscape contractor/gardener, MANUEL SALAZAR, here on Angie's list and I couldn't be happier with his service. Now, he knows how to treat a customer!
