Have a leak, called to get it fixed but the gentleman that answered said he bought this company. Thatwas with the other guy so he has no responsibility to fix it. So buyer beware.

Service tech went into attic. Took pictures of depth and coverage of insulation throughout the attic. Explained codes. Everything was as it should be. He didn't try to sell me any unnecessary services or products. Service tech was efficient, polite and knowledgeable.

We had an excellent experience. The owner, Wade, was prompt and responsive and clearly had a depth of experience in roofing. He was honest about our options, not trying to upsell, and his bid was excellent. Wade even included more for the same amount when an additional feature was added. The roof looks fantastic and we haven't had any problems.

After calling several roofing companies for pricing and availability, I scheduled a roof maintenance service with Southern Strong because they offered the best price AND could accommodate my schedule. The very next day, Wade arrived promptly, inspected my roof, and then showed me photos as he explained the situation: the flashing around the exhaust fan (as well as other places) was not properly sealed, and there were several exposed nails and penetrations. After he caulked the exposed nails and re-secured the headwall flashing, he showed me photos of the completed work. He said that if that these repairs didn't solve the problem, he would recommend replacing the flashing and the affected shingles. It is now seven months later, and I haven't had a single problem with the roof since then. I highly recommend Southern Strong Roofing: they are pleasant professionals who provide affordable, effective, and thorough service. The next time I have a roofing problem, I will make one call--and that will be to Southern Strong.

Arriving on time, he got right to work and it took no time at all, which surprised me at first! He sealed some problem areas and three boot pipes and took photos of the things he worked on, also noting other areas/issues that he figured I needed to be aware of. The recommendation (and estimate) for a new roof was appreciated and when I can afford it I will probably choose the company to do the work, but I don't anticipate that being anytime soon, unfortunately! Overall it was a very good experience and I am hopeful the small repairs will help keep any potential issues from coming up anytime soon.

It went great. They arrived on time and when they said they would..in fact they were a little early. They listened and inspected where I wanted inspected and additional areas. They had the opportunity to tell me bad news where there was none, but instead they told me my roof was good for at least another 15 years barring storm damage and the two areas I had concern about were fine...honest and very professional.

I met with the sales person and he inspected the roof. That went well and then I wanted him to look at the flashing around the Chimney. I had a water stain in the house and thought the flashing may need replacing. He said I needed it replaced and a cricket and some new shingles. He gave me a verbal estimate of $1000. I asked him to e-mail and estimate which I never received. In the mean time I contacted another roofing company and when they looked at the roof it was not the flashing but the Chimney cap that was leaking. They suggested I contact a Chimney repair company. They fixed the problem for 99.00. No more leaks. Never heard another word from Southern Strong. At least I only lost 44 dollars if I had gone with them I would have had a lot of work done that was not needed.

"Thank you for your review and allowing us the opportunity to be of service. I recommended the chimney cricket and because the chimney width exceeds 18" and therefore building code requires the installation of a cricket if any alterations to original work are made. The chimney flashing is in poor condition and is not properly installed. Whether it's leaking intermittently or not is to be determined. Our quote was to perform the cricket installation with new StormGuard ice and water shield underlayment surrounding a 3' perimeter of the chimney. Install new step and counter flashing while installing new shingles in the affected area. Reseal exterior of chimney siding, corners and chimney cap. Each of these recommendations were itemized for the clients choosing in order of priority. If all 3 recommendations are performed, a 365 day workmanship guarantee is issued. When the leak re occurs or a new leak develops (as is very commonly reported when fixing a portion of the problem) the client will once again need interior work and additional roof repair expenses. We've been in this business for three generations and stand behind our suggestions as an expert opinion. We believe in "cures" as the first option and treatment of symptoms as the last resort. The original estimate was sent via email and forwarded again with no response. It is quite possible we have an incorrect email or it could be in your spam box.
