If you are concerned about safety and quality workmanship, do not use this vendor. We recently used Angie's LIst to obtain help getting a playground set assembled. We have a special needs daughter, and I have some physical issues with my knee. As a result, I was not able to help my husband assemble the set. Also, we are new to the area, so we don't know many people to ask for help since we recently moved from New Jersey. The playset was purchased in May from Costco and was sitting in our garage while we searched for a service provider to help us. We were initially impressed that the provider "Spears Assembly Specialists" supposedly had an abundant amount of experience in the field, understood our situation, our concern with safety (since our yard has a slope), and would be able to get started almost immediately. He had also mentioned that there were some issues with some of his clients' checks in relation to their accounts having "insufficient funds", so we agreed to pay him the amount for assembling the playset ($350) in cash. However, we started noticing problems after a couple of days into it. First, he had told us that he jumped around during the assembly process because it was easier to assemble the accessories by himself and would be able to do the larger items with others over the weekend. His process wasn't a problem with us until my husband noticed that 3 of the 6 main structure panels were in the wrong place and that the connection of the slide would not be able to be done correctly. In addition, when they finished, there was a huge amount of "spare parts" (over 40 washers, screws, and brackets), which included 2 5" lag screws that are used to support the main joist that the swings are hung. Upon further inspection, we noticed the following issues: 1. The door entering the main structure was attached incorrectly (which my husband was able to correct). 2. The main structure was missing key screws to connect the panels towards the top of the panels. My husband was able to find where some go and also put in the 5" lags missing from the swing support joist.. 3. A main frame support, the ladder, climbing wall, and telescope are in the wrong place. 4. None of the "pre-drilling" was done so the bards are splitting (basically ruining the playset because we can't take it apart to fix it and ensure it will be safe to use since the integrity of the wood may be compromised. 5. Floor boards are not completely screwed down. 6. We found a screw penetrating the interior play area causing definite safety hazard where children can be injured. 7. The joist, where the swings hang from has the support arm incorrectly connected (support bracket should be slanted in the opposite direction). I can continue on, but I thing you get the picture. We have taken pictures of these items have shared them here. The damage to the playset will require us to basically do the following to ensure our daughter has a "safe" playset to enjoy: 1. Have our current one disassembled and taken away. 2. Purchase a new playset. 3. Find a vendor that actually is "experience" and will actually perform a reliable job. We initially contact Spears Assembly Specialists regarding the issues we found deficient with their work. However, there was no response from them. Therefore, we decided to schedule an appointment with an attorney to find out our options for taking legal action against the service provider due to the poor workmanship and them basically destroying the playset. When we approached Angie's List about the situation, we were basically referred to purchase the "Gold Level" membership in order to resolve the issue. Regards, Liza De Leon

It went well. He came on time just as he promised and finish the job in a timely manner. We had a playset prior and it was installed by a different contractor. Compared to the previous contractor, he is 10 and the other is 4.

We just moved and our moving company would not assemble any outdoor equipment. We also wanted a basketball hoop cemented into the side of our driveway. We called Spears Assymbly and George got back to us right away with an estimate. He was very professional and always on-time. He did an impressive job to include coming back a second day to give the cement time to adequately dry to finish the work on our basketball hoop. I also couldn't find stakes to secure my swing set at Lowes or Home Depot (I lost them in the move). He found them for me and came back a third time after he initially assembled my swing set to secure it to the ground. I highly recommend them for any indoor (IKEA furniture or home gym) or outdoor assembly of any type.

It went great. They came out and poured concrete a few days in advance. It is set up and they came back and installed the basketball goal. My son and I have been playing ever since. They did a good job. They made sure it was the right height and level before they left.
