SPECIALTY MASONRY

First, communication from 1st to last was excellent! When Juan was able to do the job - postponed by rain delays - he and his asst arrived promptly, got right to work, and completed the job in 1 1/2 hrs. The wall had a large separation due to large ficus roots from a tree I had previously had removed that was also filled with vegetation. It also had some cement from a previous temporary repair, but the separation had grown wider after the tree was removed. Juan drilled out the cement, old mortar, and vegetation, and filled it with high-quality, non-shrinking mortar. It looks great!

Juan Torres (owner of this family business) returned my initial call within a day and came out the next day to provide an estimate. (I had used Juan a few years ago for repair/replacement of a section of block wall. He and his crew did a great, clean job then, at a very competitive price. Juan even showed up with insurance/liability certs upon our initial meeting for that estimate.) So I knew that I'd be calling him re this built in BBQ repair/remodel prior to install of a new drop in BBQ. Juan provided what I considered a fair price in an emailed proposal sent to me that same evening, so I decided to go with him and forgo the usual 3 estimates I would have obtained from various contractors. I booked the job with him for the next week. They showed up on the agreed day, on time. He and his brothers did a good job involving tricky/difficult drilling and install of vents in the existing block, floating a concrete "deck" for under the new grill, as well as installing an access door for added venting and gas cutoff access. The job took about 1/2 day. All went very smoothly, looks great, and was cleaned up well at the end. I was confident enough in Juan and his co., to look no further when hiring a mason for this project. I'm completely satisfied and can recommend Specialty Masonry without hesitation.

My new block wall is solid and the job Specialty Masonry performed was excellent. With no doubt would hire this company again when I need more work. Needed a new block wall put up on my property to enclose a back lot. Specialty Masonry came out for an initial estimate. The estimate came back quickly and was fair pricing. The work took exactly the time estimated. Juan provided daily updates on the work being done. Each day the crew organized and picked up the work area. Excellent service, great attention to detail and quality work.

They were prompt, thorough, and absolutely went above and beyond. My repair was done in a timely manner, and I DID NOT HAVE TO HANDLE CLEANING UP when the project was finished. Great communication, and an excellent explanation of the scope of work from start to finish. Cannot say enough great things. Looking forward to having them tackle my next project!

It was a pleasure to work with Juan from Specialty Masonry. He was professional and the repair on the block wall was well done. It is hardly noticeable.

Beware! I contacted Juan to have a wall rebuilt. We agreed to a time frame and I gave him a deposit. He was unable to meet the schedule, and I ultimately had to use another mason. The scheduling problem developed because another job ran longer than expected. I understand that these things happen, so that's not the issue. However, Juan did no work for me and kept my money -- I have been trying to get my deposit back for almost two years, and he has been unresponsive. Simply unacceptable.

Perfect. I have no real comparison for pricing, but they quoted with specifics, arrived on time, did a great job and left without a trace. I am very happy with the work. I would totally recommend Juan and the guys for your masonry work.

Juan contacted us immediately and provided a very reasonable estimate after visiting our home to get a scope of the requested job. We were scheduled for our repair and within 2 weeks from our original contact with Juan from Specialty Masonry our wall was completely repaired and looks awesome. Despite a delay from another job, Juan contacted us immediately to let us know and our job was only delayed for one day. Juan was very punctual and had the wall repaired and looking great in the time he promised. We would definitely recommend Juan and Specialty Masonry for any masonry jobs you may be looking to have completed. Great price, excellent work, prompt, and very trustworthy. So glad we found him on Angie's List!!! Give him a shot, you won't be disappointed!

Responsiveness wasn't good. The work that he did do was excellent. However, he wouldn't go under the house - he'd only do the outside work.

My experience with him was good. I had him do some additional work and there were some additional charges. He was courteous, timely and very professional. He was good. He answered my questions. He did the work.

It went Great. This was one of the best experence ever with a contracter. They were on time, knew exactly what had to be done to restore our backyard planter which took several days. <br />

Work was well done. Service prompt. Are was left in a clean and neat state. Construction was completed on time and on budget per the estimate. <br />
