It seemed to go well, but only at the beginning. I had a system installed by Sprinkler Systems for Less in 2010. It has been nothing but trouble. They installed the control units directly on the spigot so they are out in the rain and sun which voids the warranty on the units and their accessories. They used cheap plastic parts for just about everything so parts crack and leak. The heads do not stay in place. The hoses do not stay in place. I will have to check to see if they violated the law by charging me over $2500 in a state that they are not allowed to do so. They removed some sod next to the house that caused water to run toward the foundation instead of away from it so the home builder, Ryland/Cal Atlantic, came back in and fixed that on one side of the house for free. I have had to replace multiple parts of the system and it needs more maintenance every year than the last sprinkler system I had that was larger, more expensive, and older. When getting estimates to replace this poor lawn watering system I have found that licensed sprinkler companies are well aware of the numerous problems with the Sprinkler Systems for Less systems and their company. At Sprinkler Systems for Less you get less; stay away from them.

I spoke with Chuck multiple times on my apprehensions about getting an irrigation system installed. He assured me that I'd be very satisfied each time. I asked about the reviews (the bad ones) and how they were handled. He referred me to Angie's List and placed the blame on the customers. I understand that some customers can be hard to accommodate, but not all. So, I'm sure that if someone asks about my review, he'll talk about how full of it I am and whatever else he wants to say to get their business. His team finished my install without running the system because it didn't cover the entire yard. The guy he sent out to go over the system with me stated he didn't know why his lead man didn't check the system to make sure everything was covered. I spoke with Chuck about it, he replied that he fired the guy who came out to go over the system. I was like "wow," for what? He advised me that everything that guy touched had an issue. I was thinking in my head, "so you fired him because he pointed out the flaws to me?" And if he's that bad, why did you send him to house? It seemed strange to me. Maybe that wasn't the case, but that's what it seemed to be to me. Chuck then says we're going to come out by the end of the week and make sure everything is correct. "WE WILL CALL YOU BEFORE WE COME." The end of the week passed and, I NEVER heard anything from anyone. Actually, I haven't heard anything since (nothing to ensure everything is working properly or if we are now satisfied). We received a note in our mailbox that his guy had came by. What kind of mess is that??? To say the least, every time I spoke to Chuck, he talked to me as if I should be happy that he can install my system and not that he's appreciative of my business. I only went with him because he was the first person I spoke to in reference to getting a system installed and told him that I wouldn't go with anyone else. His price was a few hundred dollars less than the next best person who installed some systems in my neighborhood. Granted, they were both above $3,000, and after dealing with this, I would not have had a problem spending that extra $300 if the service was going to be better. I have not tested the system since because it's been raining everyday, but I am not happy. I hope the system is up to par now, but I would not recommend this team.

We hired "Sprinkler Systems for Less" to install an irrigation system in our brand new home in December. The system was not designed properly to sufficiently water our lawn. We have a large front lawn and the company only installed 4 sprinkler heads, which do not cover our entire yard, or water our lawn effectively when running the system for 30 minutes per zone everyday. All of our neighbors have twice as many heads on the same sized area. Some of the lines were not buried at all, just covered with pine straw and they did not install a meter so that we can avoid paying for sewer on the water we use for irrigation. We have had several problems with the equipment failing and the customer service is not responsive or helpful addressing problems.

"SPRINKLER SYSTEMS FOR LESS, LLC : PLEASE NOTE THAT INSTALLATION WAS COMPLETE IN JANUARY, 2016, NOT 9/25/2016 Complaint: "The system was not designed properly to sufficiently water our lawn." SPRINKLER SYSTEMS FOR LESS, LLC: The complainant offers no facts or figures to back up this erroneous statement other than to state that: Complaint: "We have a large front lawn and the company only installed 4 sprinkler heads, which do not cover our entire yard, or water our lawn effectively when running the system for 30 minutes per zone everyday." SPRINKLER SYSTEMS FOR LESS, LLC: To the contrary, the four heads installed in the front lawn do cover the entire area to be irrigated. This was shown to complainant's husband when he and I walked the property in late August. He agreed that the entire front lawn was, in fact, completely covered by the four heads that were installed. Furthermore, it is our practice to install the appropriate number of heads to adequately irrigate the indicated area(s) keeping in mind that an excess of heads only increases the use of water which, over time, is the most expensive component of any irrigation system. Complaint: "All of our neighbors have twice as many heads on the same sized area." SPRINKLER SYSTEMS FOR LESS, LLC : This is a specious statement that has no basis in fact. Should complainant wish to put additional water on a particular area of her lawn she need only run the system with the existing properly installed number of heads for a longer period of time. Installing "twice the number of heads" will only cost the complainant (in addition to the added cost of installing "twice the number of heads") the cost of the additional water expended. Complaint: "Some of the lines were not buried at all, just covered with pine straw" SPRINKLER SYSTEMS FOR LESS, LLC : In garden areas we run our lines above ground so that their position is evident to the homeowner when planting or moving plants. This reduces damage and frustration for the homeowner. We staple our lines with 6" sod staples every 12 inches. The lines are then covered with pine straw or mulch, depending on the property. They remain completely hidden. As our lines are made of rubber, freeze damage in winter months is not an issue. All 350 of our installations have been done this way. Complaint: "They did not install a meter so that we can avoid paying for sewer on the water we use for irrigation" SPRINKLER SYSTEMS FOR LESS, LLC : We can't install second meters for lawn irrigation. This is the exclusive purview of the water company. The decision to order a second meter and the appropriate backflow preventer that is required by South Carolina state law is a complicated and expensive one for the homeowner. The complainant never expressed an interest in a second meter. In our opinion, based on the size of the complainant's property, a second meter would not be appropriate. NOR WOULD IT BE COST EFFECTIVE. Complaint: "We have had several problems with the equipment failing and the customer service is not responsive or helpful addressing problems." SPRINKLER SYSTEMS FOR LESS, LLC : On the contrary, any time we received a request for service we responded promptly. SPRINKLER SYSTEMS FOR LESS, LLC : I empathize with the complainant's frustration regarding the state of her lawn. If there were something in our installation that I could improve to provide her with a better lawn I would do it. However, the cause(s) of her lawn problems does not lie within our system."

There were timer issues and the timer had to be replaced and the system required adjustment (sprinkler head adjustments). All done under warranty without badgering them to get out and fix it.

Chuck came to our home to take a look at our lawn and to give us an estimate. A few weeks later, his team installed the system and showed us how to work it. You couldn't even tell we had sprinklers installed after they were done. I would highly recommend Chuck and his team!

The installation was completed in a half day by six workers who all independently knew their jobs and worked effectively and efficiently. When completed, all spots on the yard and all flowers were covered by the perfectly placed sprinklers. Furthermore, the trenches were covered such that only a discerning and close inspection could even notice their locations. Later, when a piece of the brass coupling failed due to clearly a manufacturing defect, the company immediately responded to make the necessary repair by providing a new replacement and re-checking the entire system. <br /> <br /> Good product and a GREAT COMPANY!

When I first contracted for the sprinkler system, I did not know that you could purchase a separate water meter for the sprinkler system. So Sprinkler Systems for Less installed my system and hooked it up to the outside hose bibs, which is a very cost effective way to hook up a system. When I found out that I could also purchase an additional water meter so I could monitor the cost to water the lawn, Sprinkler Systems for Less came back and dug a line from my new water meter to the system controllers. <br /> <br /> This spring, when we turned on the system, one of the lines had been cut by the cable company when they installed underground cable. Sprinkler Systems for Less came right out and fixed the cut hose. <br /> <br /> Our lawn looks fantastic! The service and quality of their work has exceeded my expectations. I would strongly suggest that if you need a sprinkler system, you call Sprinkler Systems for Less!

Rep/owner arrived promptly after calling and was pleased with the pricing option and service they offered. Was pleased with the product they offered relative to the typical sprinkler system install. Product involves rubber tubing that can snake around corners, which is done instead of PVC and eliminates leaks underground. The install team arrived several days later and were courteous, spoke English as a first language, and completed the work in a timely fashion that day. The system was set up for me, and the owner came back later the give me an instruction manual and lesson on how to use the system myself. <br /> <br />

Project went well. They were very responsive, from the initial quote through final installation. Chuck and his installation team worked with us to do the installation in stages - the existing lawn and shrubs in the front yard, then new sod and landscaping in rear yard. They even installed a temporary system to water the new sod while we were finalizing the rest of the landscaping plans. <br />

Chuck responded to our request for a quote the next day and left us with several options to consider. He did not pressure us to make a quick decision. Once we decided, Chuck had his crew install rear yard irrigation in a matter of hours. Chuck then came over and made sure we were pleased with the system and gave me some pointers on programming. Having just moved here (SC) from Michigan we had no idea who to call for sprinklers - we obviously used Angie's List and it led us to Sprinkler Systems for Less and I'll be recommending them to anyone I run into who needs irrigation work. The whole installation went as planned, from the estimate to the completion of the project. The instller came back to change a sprinkler headto a more practical one on his own. Everything went as promised. <br />
