They were terrific. Arrived early and worked late! They removed my cabinet doors, sanded them and put primer on them. My Angie's List deal said that they would provide all materials. That was not what they expected. Their clients typically provide their own paint. They called their boss, who came out and was extremely professional, to talk to me. They honored the deal, went and bought good paint and came back the next day to finish up. While working, they were obviously good friends and happy and pleasant to be around. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

We contacted SST after seeing their "deal" and reading their positive reviews. Mike was super-responsive and easy to deal with. He did a great, careful job helping us turn some low-cost cabinet components into a very functional laundry and storage area. I would definitely consider SST for a variety of interior handyman work. <br />

<p>Mike installed a stair bannister (where nothing had existed before) that had to be cut into 3 separate lengths, due to the stairwell's configuration, with multiple brackets. He additionally added some beautiful ends to each of the rails giving it a lovely finished look. Mike also assembled and installed a ceiling fan. All work was done perfectly. I have used Mike before and will definitely hire him again!</p> <br />

The guy that came out wasn't really qualified. They are great at cabinet making, not handyman work. The price definitely wasn't worth it. He was on time. I might use them for cabinet work.

As I said he was on time and worked on the four jobs as quickly as he could. # of the jobs presented problems but he was able to solve them. The kitchen light had to be removed a a new one installed. The fan/light fixture had to be removed replaced and rewired to make it work as did the light in the garage. The only easy one was the garage opener light being replaced. He was very friendly and professional. <br />

I wasn't very happy about the service. I didn't spend any more. He was a smoker. So, my house smelled like smoke when he left. I can see the patches. I think I could have done a better job myself. He was quite friendly. He was easy to work with and easy to schedule. He could improve on the smoking and be a little more detailed on his work.

<p>This was a $180 big deal purchase for three hours of handyman services. He did the job okay, but I wish he could have done more work. Taking out the wooden deck was kind of difficult but he basically got the job done. I can't say it was 100-percent perfect but he got the job done in three hours. I just wish he would have done more work in three hours. There was a lot of nails so he had to use a special saw to cut through the plywood. It took a while; it took three hours. He did the work within two weeks after I bought the big deal. I thought he could do one or two other small jobs for me, but I was happy he was able to take care of that ramp because that was a big issue at the time. I think they could communicate better with the customer and give us a better status, like hour by hour, where his time and problems are. That way I would not be surprised at the end of three hours that more work could have been done. I wish it was cheaper, like within $40 to $50 an hour. He left some nails on the floor and I had to pick them up. Not all the nails, but a lot of the nails and part of the ramp was not taken out so I had to take that out myself. It was a difficult job, maybe I am overlooking that. He was prompt on the date and time coming to the house. He could have informed me better what was going on. </p>

The jobs were each done fantastically, very professional. I couldn't have been more pleased. Mike fixed the closet door so that it was back on track and able to close now. He made the piano chair very solid so we felt that it was safe for our child to sit on again. He quickly assembled a twin size bed frame from Ikea "HEMNES Lönset" but it was missing 3 bolts which he helped me understand which ones and how to get them replaced. He also fixed two compartment in our Ikea shoe cabinet and secured poles on our outdoor trampoline to make safe for our children to jump on. He'd also made two stops by a house to pick up and transport a loft bed frame. Overall, he made the whole process easy, he was very pleasant to work with, and we got everything done within the allotted timeframe.

<p>I bought a special on Angie's list to have a couple of doors removed and new doors installed. Before the appointment I communicated with the provider via Angie's List message system as I needed advice on the type of door to buy. Mike was very responsive and provided guidance on the doors dimensions and type. On the day of the appointment Mike showed up right on time and started the work. He was very efficient and creative in installing one of the doors that was not quite the right fit. He made it all work out. I would definitely hire this company again for future needs. </p> <br />

The person that came did only the mounting of the TV in the 3 hours that we had. He fixed little ceramic houses on the wall. Thus, the time that he took to do those 2 things and the other one was to put nails on the wall. The guy was nice. The job was pretty good. I don't have any complaints about his job. He was good, but he was kind of slow.

"The member may have forgotten or neglected to state that when I showed up to the appointment, she was not home and did not arrive until 45-60 minutes later. Her son let me in and there was confusion on where to mount the TV. Not much work gone done in that first hour because the job was not coordinated. Once she arrived, she showed me where to mount the TV. I mounted the TV on the wall and she wanted it higher. I removed the TV and installed it higher. I don't believe I was slow. I believe that it was her being late for the appointment and she only had two hours left on the clock. She was very pleasant to me and seemed happy with the work when I left."

We had a great experience with Mike! He scheduled an initial consultation within just a few days of my initial conversation with him, and he gave us a very detailed list of materials to buy (tiles, grout, etc) which was extremely helpful since we'd never needed to re-tile a shower before. In the following days Mike answered follow-up questions several different times, including on a Sunday afternoon when I was in the tile store! The work was scheduled to take place over 3 days, but when rain prevented Mike from starting on the first day (he was unable to cut materials outside), he and his assistant worked longer hours than planned on the following two days so that the project would still be completed on time. Most importantly, the new tile looks great! <br /> Mike gives advice confidently but casually; he is obviously an expert in his field, an d I never felt that he was trying to "sell us" on products or additional services that we didn't need. He was great to work with - we will definitely contact Mike again! <br />

Overall, great! Mike responded promptly to my Angie's List IM and got me in the next day! He was polite and knowledgable. So far, everything looks good. He was unable to fix the tub stopper because it needed to be rethreaded and would have required additional work. He did give me a work around though! The only complaint was that none of the mess or trash from the work was cleaned up in the bathroom. Things were still left out on the counter and on the side of the tub. I have pets and if they would have gotten into any of that, it could have been bad. Luckily, nothing happened. <br />

It was all ok w/the exception of the above note that he did not sand or paint the drywall. We also had to pay for all supplies as he stated that was the normal method. The job seemed to take him a long time to get the drywall patched. <br />

"The member bought a handyman deal for three hours for $180.00. The patch was a half sheet of drywall. I put down floor protection. I squared the sheet rock, cut the drywall to fit. I taped, and applied three coats of spackle. I had to apply heat to dry between each coat with a heat gun. This took three hours. It was very humid that day and the spackle was not drying as well. I thought I explained this although communication must of broken down. I could of not painted on the same day anyways. It was NEVER a contract and I never promised to sand or paint."
