I was very pleased with the work. Oscar and his team were punctual and professional. They made a knowledgeable choice on where to place the drainage channel on the driveway. I have already recommended Stable Foundations to a friend!

The experience, overall, was excellent. There were delays on both sides however, communication was always very good and everyone was very patient. Ultimately, the job was done and it was done very well! It was a pleasure to do business with Oscar and Stable Foundations. If we ever need concrete work in the future, we will call them without hesitation.
We could not be more thrilled with how our driveway turned out! Oscar and team were amazing!
Short version: Do not hesitate to utilize their services! You will NOT be disappointed!
Long version: Our home was built in the 1920's, and the driveway to the garage was SUPER steep. We drive a low to the ground electric car, so we really needed to be able to get into the garage in order to park the car.
My engineer-amazing husband calculated a way to slightly curve the driveway and used spray paint to indicate what the path of the driveway needed to be. They happily took on the challenge! The got rid of all the cracked old concrete, laid a great foundation, and then got to work with the pavers. They managed to make our driveway not only beautiful, but also functional!!!
We also had a drain issue which they helped us to resolve to ensure that our garage does not get any water inside it. They were quick to respond, professional, friendly, and most importantly, did FANTASTIC work.
THANK YOU STABLE FOUNDATIONS!
It was just that they got backed up with the rain. They did their best to schedule given the weather the way it was. It was always raining. The workers were very good.

I hired Stable Foundations Inc. to do all the concrete and steel work associated with a garage addition on my two unit building in Round Rock. Their bid was very reasonable and they were flexible in allowing us to specify which aspects of the project they would take responsibility for. The scope of the project included complete foundation replacement, excavation and other major structural work. Based on our architect's and engineer's drawings, they presented with a budget, schedule and contract that set my expectations appropriately.
They completed their work on time, left the site clean everyday and met all of my quality of work expectations... While we did go slightly over budget (less that 10%), the additional costs were for unforeseen conditions (which they warned us about) and out of scope work we had them do. They finished the job and asked for payments according to the schedule we agreed upon up front. Oscar and Evi were easy to contact and easy to work with, even when questions came up about who would be responsible for certain issues.
If you need concrete and steel work done, these are the guys you need to work with. I could not recommend them more. They are the real deal.
After some initial confusion over the wording of the offer, we reached an agreement on the final price.
Oscar was most understanding when my wife's health deteriorated and the work was postponed until after she passed away. Everything was done in a timely manner. My only disappointment was that clean up could have been a little better.

I highly recommend this company if you need any kind of concrete work done! Prompt, Professional and Quality work! A rare find these days! They made it all happen in one day - from framing to the concrete pour. I had a small existing patio 8 x 11 and wanted to extend it further out and to the end of the house to add an outdoor living area. The final job looks great and they went above and beyond by putting the wooden fence back together that had to be removed for easier access for the concrete truck, cleaning up the area and putting some back fill around the base of the patio. I'm sure I'll be enjoying this new space for many many years to come!

Great job guys and Thank You so much!

The work went very well. We have a large oak tree adjacent to the drive, which the crew had to work around. I wanted as little interference with its roots as possible, and they accommodated me. They had estimated that the job would take 5 days; due to inclement weather, it took 6. My only complaint is that they left a moderate amount of debris at the site - e.g., small pieces of wood, metal mesh, and concrete.
After reading the reviews on Angie"s List and comparing bids from other contractors, we decided to hire Stable Foundations to install a new driveway and replace a small cement slab adjacent to the driveway. They did excellent work, and we would not hesitate to use them again. This family business is licensed and insured, and the work crew is honest, hardworking, and reliable.
Everyone from Stable Foundations was very professional from the beginning. Evi and Oscar promptly returned my calls, thoroughly explained the work to be done, gave us a bid that was reasonable and competitive, and fit us into the schedule for the very next week. The crew started the demolition on Tuesday and finished the new driveway by Thursday. They make sure that things are done the right way - they do not take shortcuts. They cut back tree roots, repaired sprinkler pipes, compacted the soil, and removed a large tree limb that would have blocked the cement truck. Since our old driveway had gigantic cracks, they installed rebar every 18 inches and divided the driveway into six panels to prevent huge cracks from forming again. Oscar would not pour the concrete until we approved the prep work and layout. This family does quality work and will even re-do concrete work if you aren't satisfied (as long as it hasn't hardened).
These guys went out of their way to be helpful. I wanted them to replicate the border design of a driveway that I had seen in the neighborhood. When I couldn't remember the details, Oscar went with me to look at the driveway to make sure I got the design that I wanted. He also nailed a new board to our gate and screwed down some loose boards in our deck free of charge. We really appreciate all the hard work that went into creating our beautiful, new driveway. A big thank you to Evi and Oscar for a job well done!

Response from Stable Foundations Inc
"Dear [Customer Name].. What a surprise to see your "glowing and descriptive" review 6 months later. We are going to take our valuable time of of our busy day to provide some details to other members who actually might want to find out the real story. We have to admit, you are the first client in the 8 years of running the business where we had to QUIT the job on the spot..not to forget to mention about $1800 loss that we took. Unfortunately, we are not a CHARITY service and we our prices are very reasonable for the quality of work we do. We are the down to earth people. But when you kept adding additional requests to the original project hoping that will still keep in $699(the deal that was discounted 50% already) is simply not right. Wishing you BEST of luck. Sincerely, Stable Foundations Inc."

Oscar and Evi were excellent to work with from scheduling to installation.
The crew showed up on time and did a great job of excavation of dirt; forming a curved sidewalk which I wanted; reinforcing rebar and wire as needed and tied into existing sidewalk. They did a great job in installing sidewalk and then coming back a couple of days later to remove form boards and leaving area in great shape! I will definitely use them for any future needs as well as recommend them for their services.
It took no time to schedule the appointment. The arrived on time and worked for 2 days. The workers did a good job with the concrete pad. They left the outside walls of the garage and house full of concrete marks and concrete handprints. I called the day after the work was done and at least 4 other times and left messages citing that the walls were dirty and asking how to remove the concrete from the walls. I never received a returned call. Now, we are in need of repainting the walls following the work done by Stable Foundations Inc.
Once paid, it seems like they don't care about the customer.

Following my review on Angie's List, Oscar did call and clean the walls.

Stable foundations replaced my cracked, uneven, weathered driveway and a short section of walkway with broom finish concrete with brick boarders.
The work was performed exactly on schedule! Every aspect of the job went smoothly; from demolition, framing, concrete pour to the brick finish. The crew was punctual, worked efficiently and cleaned up the work site every day. I couldn't be happier with the end result. It is exactly what we wanted.
The work is top notch. I watched the brick accent work and the workers were true craftsmen. Every brick is evenly spaced and perfectly level with the surrounding concrete.
Oscar was an absolute joy to work with. His communication was excellent and he was incredibly helpful. Seriously, he's one of the best contractors I've worked with in the 20 years I've owned this house.
I would recommend Stable Foundations without reservation.

Concrete is expensive work, knew that going into it. Given all the variables, considerations with rain flow, and the "one shot at getting it right" nature of concrete that's to be expected. I had a pretty sizeable job needing a detached two car garage pad, an oddly shaped patch, and a driveway widening run. The last two were on an incline and I wanted some shape to the driveway extension so I could have some plants in between it and my neighbor's yard.
Called in several contractors. Stable foundations wasn't the cheapest but he was on the lower priced side of the spectrum. I ended up choosing them because he came across as more professional than the cheaper guys and also volunteered advice to pass on to whoever I chose for the job if I didn't go with him. I appreciated that and didn't find that attitude from any of the other contractors that came out.
My only ding against their service was a missed appointment for a follow up estimate but he took full responsibility for it and was quick on the reschedule.
When it came to the job itself the concrete turned out beautiful. They busted their a** getting everything done in a reasonable amount of time and finished ahead of schedule. The driveway extension came together with a nice smooth curve to accommodate plants and the oddly shaped piece had some well placed section lines drawn in to blend in well with the existing concrete. If they hadn't done that and just laid out a blank slab it would have looked terrible and that wasn't something I realized during the planning process.
Their clean up was fairly well done. I was debating whether knocking off a star since there was a few hardened puddles of concrete I had to take care of and I'm still finding rocks from the base layer spread in the yard that I'm constantly looking for every time I pull out the lawnmower. In the end though the pros outweighed the cons and it wasn't enough to drop their score.
All statements I make here are truthful
and to the best of my memory and notes.
I purchased the $699.00 concrete deal
on 11/24/2014. I was thanked by the company for choosing them. I
emailed them back stating I wanted to get it completed in December if
their schedule could fit it in. So an appointment was setup for an
on-site review and estimate was made for 4pm December 3rd.
They were a no show. I did not hear back from them. After a few
days I called the office asking why.. So I was given an appointment
that afternoon.
Oscar arrived at 4pm and we started
discussing my project.. I was told in detail how they did their work
using re-bar and connecting pins. He took measurements of the
driveway and sidewalk at 152 Sq ft. Also, I told him part of this
job would be for me to remove the big tree roots under the driveway
quickly. So I hired Rocky's Stump Removal Service to do that.. Only 1
hour was allowed for removing the roots.
The quoted cost was $1800.00 in total.
This price assumed it would be completed in one day. If not a price
change would be needed. I agreed and shook hands on that. They left
on that.
They called several days later and
scheduled the job for January 5 2015 with a start time of 7am. Next,
I called Rocky's Stump Removal and setup a one hour work window for
January 5th at 8:30 am.
JOB STARTS: 1-5-2015
The crew shows up exactly on time at 7
am on Jan 5 and they let me know they were here to start. The
electric jackhammer started about 7:25am. Thirty minutes later I
went out to check on things finding 2 workers busting their butts.
The whole work crew at Stable Foundations I found to be courteous and
and friendly. They do know their business.
At 8:15 just prior to the Stump
Grinder's arrival I saw that they were only ½ done in removing the
concrete. Rocky arrives on-time at 8:30 am and tells all of us that
he will be back at 10:30am.. He leaves to complete one of his other
jobs for that day.
Earlier in the morning I had noticed a
large roll of weld-mesh on the ground along with the other tools.
I remembered we had agreed earlier to
do a re-bar and pin layout. So I spoke to one worker and he said
that was they were given to bring. They did not know this was a
re-bar job. So they offered to clear it up and called the boss. They
were told to go buy re-bar. So some workers left to go buy the
re-bar and rent a small concrete mixer.
Now 10:30 and Rocky arrived to see
concrete had been removed. At this point I left and went inside to
work. I heard the saw working until about 11am. I went outside and
saw that the front end of his saw was missing. It had broken apart
upon hitting a large rock buried just under soil. He told all of us
it would be 4 hrs before he could return with a repaired unit. Then
some crew members returned with the re-bar and parts and someone had
remembered to cancel the rental of the mixer. Finally I told the
crew ?there was no need to stay?. They cleaned up and left about
12 noon. So that was 4-5hrs lost..I hope they did find some work to
do.
Thirty minutes after they left Rocky
called me and said he would be there at 1 pm with a back up saw to
finish the job.. OH WOW!... He arrived at 1:15 pm and took extra time
to remove more of the roots. He finished about 2:30 pm.
The second day, Tuesday Jan 6th
the crew unloaded a huge number of 80lb concrete bags. They were
stacked on the ground in the driveway. A tarp was placed over the
stack. Next they installed the forms and completed the re-bar
layouts.
Wednesday 7th the company
had scheduled meetings with the City of Austin. I had been made
aware of that in the beginning .
Thursday 8th the weather
turned very cold with a prediction of rain and or snow over the
weekend. Freezing weather projected so concrete could not be done.
Friday afternoon of the 9th.
It was about to rain. I saw the crew again with wooden
pallets. They moved and placed all of the bags on top of 2 pallets
covered and roped it. They left as it started to rain.
Monday the 10th job starts
again. It was cloudy, cold and 40F but no chance of rain. As they
began pouring the concrete. I notice there was no sign of a mixer.
Just wheelbarrows. Strange...thought they would use a mixer. Wheel
barrow hand mixing was acceptable. But more labor intensive. The
pouring of the concrete was completed and left to cure and set up.
Friday the 16th pm I was
called and told to come outside that they were ready to settle. All
of the forms had been taken down and removed. I was told they would
come back to clean up later. I declined the clean up and re leveling
of the dirt.
Settlement
I was offered two prices. Write a check
for $2500.00 or cash settlement $2000.00. I figured my $699.00 deal
could be subtracted since that had already been paid out. He said NO
his amount today had nothing to do with the $699.00. Wait a minute, I
already paid in advance $699.00 (Angie's list) on this job.
If I wrote a check for $2500.00 +
$699.00 that is $3,199.00 for 152 sq ft a $1,399.00 adjustment up
78%
If I paid cash $2,000.00 +
$699.00 that is $2,699.00 for 152 sq ft a $899.00 adjustment up 67%
I said there is no way I am paying
$2,700.00 for this job. That is final.
I will pay $2,000.00 MINUS the $699.00
already paid. Final. Since nothing had been written down
a 11% increase in price.
Went to bank withdrew cash and paid
them.
Oscar and his crew are tops. They put in a new driveway and front walk with used brick edging and dividers. A flagstone area was created beside the driveway to replace an ugly, black-top surface. The flagstone area's right edge was curved in a graceful way, so I will now have a lovely planter area between my flagstone and my neighbor's driveway. The flagstone replaced an ugly, ugly black-top surface.
Team did an amazing job, really enhancing the curb appeal of the property. I keep walking out just to admire how it looks. Oscar
explained the procedure in advance and his price was quite reasonable.
Oscar was always available when I called, unlike others whom I figured didn't need my work, they were so difficult to contact. The job was started within a week after the proposal, and finished within 6 days, taking away those days when it was impossible to work given the rain.
The price was within the range I was expecting from my research, paid two portions as the work progressed.
Everyone was so nice, especially given that demolishing and installing seemed awful, hard work. Friends an neighbors are already asking me for the company number. I highly recommend Stable Foundations.
He gave us a very fair quote, and was straightforward about having other jobs going at the same time, which we think actually helped the price and schedule.

On time, on budget, and to city code. Appreciate Oscar's availability and communication. Plus the work looks terrific. I believed him when he said that he did it like he would at his own home, so I hope you have a similar positive experience.
