We had significant water damage in both chimneys. Stack & Hughes were extremely responsive and and completed the work very quickly. We called them back in a subsequent storm because we had water coming in from another site; Epi came out during the storm, climbed out onto the roof and did a full inspection.   <br /> <br /> Turns out the repairs did not stop the water damage. During the spring months we had more water coming in than before the repairs were made. Stack & Hughes came out, assessed the damage, said they would return to make the repairs and never showed up or responded to our phone calls.

.They did very good work but it was hard to figure out when they would be on the job.  They worked with me explaining all of the issues and I was satisfied with their explanations.  They repainted and cleaned up the area nicely

I was getting water in the house from an ice dam and needed service asap.  I called the company in the morning and were told someone would be out in a few hours to look at it.  They were at my house within a few hours as stated.  I got a quote from Sean and found it to be reasonable, albeit slightly more than I really wanted to spend.  However, this is not a normal winter so I was expecting prices to be elevated for emergency service.  The cost of repairing water damage had I delayed would have been much higher for sure. <br /> The crew worked quite fast and were very professional.  They finished up in about 3-4 hours.  I plan on having them quote a new roof and gutters in the spring. <br />

The experience was good once the work was started and it moved on very quickly with the foreman explaining things.  The end result was very good.  My only complaint is the lack of communication.  Several times we left phone calls requesting an estimate of when work would be started and there was always a very slow response making it difficult to plan.

We waited two years to review since we wanted to make sure our new roof stood up well. <br /> We are very pleased with the outcome of our roof replacement.  No drips or leaks in evidence. <br /> The workers were pleasant and we like the owner - everyone seemed honest and professional.  <br /> They cleaned up after themselves beautifully. <br /> We just have two minor complaints: <br /> a.  They showed up unannounced and didn't complete the work straight thru - rather, they did some work and then came back a week or so later and did some more work.  Overall it took about a month to complete.  That was fine with us - just a bit disconcerting. <br /> b.  They pulled the old ridge vent and left it exposed - and we had a soaking rain that night.  We had some minor damage to the ceiling in the upstairs as a result.  To their credit - they came out at 3am to cover the exposed ridge vent area and repaired any damage <br /> <br /> <br />

BLUF -if I had more properties I'd only have Stack & Hughes do the roofing work. <br /> Stack and Hughes were very responsive in making an appt.  Estimator brought ladders of sufficient height to ensure a look at all areas.  The next thing I was impressed with was a complete written description, line item by line item, of the work to be accomplished right down to the clean-up.  It was the best contract I have seen outside the Dept of Defense.  The owner and his second returned with the contract and sat down to thoroughly discuss and answer questions.  They recommended different roofing material for my area and I was able to choose what I wanted and the color I wanted. <br /> The crew showed up on time and they all worked long days.  Every night they cleaned up before they left.  Except for the bundles of shingles and a couple of ladders you'd never know work was going on.   Everyone I spoke with in the crew was very knowledgeable.  They were more than willing to speak with me and keep me abreast of what was going on.  <br /> The crew lead even ensured that my eave venting wasn't blocked by the new gutters I had previously installed for no extra charge.  He felt that all his work would go for naught if I had ventilation problems.  <br /> My only recommendation is to store your own garden tools (like shovels or brooms) in a separate area from where you let them store theirs.  A few of my things (like a brand new heavy duty broom and a flexible outdoor spigot attachment for my garden hose) went missing.  Nothing huge and it resembled theirs so I'm not surprised that one of the crew thought it was crew tools. <br />

I actually got an estimate from them to have roof repaired/replaced due <br /> to beginnings of mold in the attic.  I felt that he was very honest with <br /> me about having a little longer life to our roof.  Suggested having <br /> vents replaced and cutting back insulation to allow more air to <br /> circulate in the attic.  During the visit he noticed that the front <br /> steps were loose and gave me an estimate.  We ended up having them <br /> repair the stairs and will probably have them replace the roof in the <br /> next year.  Much of the work to increase circulation in the attic we <br /> were able to do ourselves which saved us some money.  I felt that he was <br /> very honest but there was a bit of a lack of communication.  At times <br /> when he said he would be back he didn't come back and there was never a <br /> call to say they were late or delayed.  If the communication was better I <br /> would give them a better grade. <br />

They came to give an estimate the same day I called.  They were very willing to work with our insurance company and photograph the damage.  They repaired the roof just four days later.  It looks great and they clean up after themselves.  Their paper work is nicely prepared.

It started out with a rotting facia board on the rear of my home. I called and got three vendors to come quote. The first vendor gave me a quote for what I asked for. The second, Stack and Hughes, looked at the facia board and also asked to check the attic. We looked at the attic and i had a serious mold problem and I had three layers of shingles on my roof, which is a no, no in Massachusetts. I contacted my insurance company and they sent an appraiser out. I then contacted three mold remediation companies. After getting all the quotes and weighing all my options, I decided to go with Stack and Hughes and have my roof, sofits vents and facia board replaced. What could have been a two fold operation with multiple vendors ended up being a one vendor job, they took care of it all. They took my roof down to the rafters. treated the rafters to make sure the mold was gone and replaced everything. They did find a few additional things that weren't in the original quote, but they told me my options and got my approval before doing the work. <br /> The workman were knowledgeable, courteous, helpful and made sure that my property was clean and I was satisfied before they left. I have complete confidence in the staff. Pat was very helpful and very conscious of my budget. She was very responsive andmade sure that all my questions were answered . Eppy and Dave were very helpful and knowledgeable. I am very happy with the final results. I would definitely use them again. I have no hesitation recommending them.

Stack and Hughes was fantastic and it started right from the start.  Within calling them they sent Dave to the site.  Dave could tell just by looking from the ground what was wrong with the flashing.  Since I was concerned with the state of the roof and some mold growth due to the leaks he came up to the attic and walked across to spend the time telling me what to do to take care of that too. <br /> I met Epi when the job started. Epi spent time saying 'this is how we'll fix it now' and this is what we'll do when you are ready to install a new roof.  His point was that the fix now is permanent and based on how your roof is constructed.  We're not going to start over but at the same time he explained this is what we are going to do, this is what we would have done if it was a new roof, this is why what we are going to do now is going to work. <br /> I always try to stay out of site, not ask too many questions, and let the pro's do their job.  The one time I did Epi described the entire job again in great detail while on the roof during a 90+ degree day.  He pointed out additional concerns (lack of drip edge, no paper on the roof) and told me what to expect and when I should start thinking about replacing the roof.  That same day I met Sean who also took the time to explain the job, etc. <br /> The guys were professional, the job site was clean, and they care about their craft and reputation.  They worked very efficiently. <br /> I was pleased by their responses and they knew what kick out flashing was, why it was needed, and where it needs to be installed, my test for any roofing contractor!

The quality of the work is excellent. After a minor defect arose they came back immediately are remedied it. I insisted on obtaining a fire inspection on the work and they cooperated fully, even when a section of firewall had to be installed to meet code.

The experience if getting the roof repaired was excellent.  I called the company and had an estimator out the same day.  We had the quote within a week and we able to schedule the service within the month.  The workers were all very polite and respectful.  The job was completed in a day and a hour on the second day.  After they left, we did notice a small problem and gave them a call.  They had two workmen come back and correct the problem within the hour.  We would definitely hire them again.

I had Stack & Hughes put a shingle roof on a two car garage.  Cost was $2900 for 8 square of  architectural  shingles.  The owner, 'Eppie', was very prompt and easy to deal with and his crew did a great job.

They came out to estimate the work the same day I called. They were honest about how tough these problems can be which I appreciated. They scheduled time to do the job fairly quickly and arrived as promised. Throughout, everyone I dealt with was professional and courteous. We have had several folk look at this chimney, with some success. But it still leaked a bit in heavy rain. Maybe it was good work or just another sealant, but whatever it was, this time it worked!

They came really fast and got the estimate out to us. It took a few weeks for them to actually do the work, but we were happy with the job.
