Star is great and I would recommend them to anyone. This is the first time I've moved where nothing has been damaged. They took care with everything and were efficient and slightly under budget. Was very happy that I went with them.

This is the second time I have used STAR International Movers for a cross country move. Both times I have been extremely satisfied. I found Star to be responsive, punctual, professional and careful. My belonging were handled and packed with the utmost care. I was updated regularly as my items were en route to my new home. Everything arrived at the destination in excellent condition AND on the promised date. I highly recommend Star and would definitely use them again if the need arises.

Star International Movers was an outstanding company recommended by our real estate agent. Jimmy Re, the President, personally came out to perform the inventory and provided an estimate. He was very helpful in suggesting options for storage in Virginia or Hawaii since our timeline for selling our home and making the actual move was still somewhat uncertain. When the date for the actual move came, everything went very smoothly and the movers were very efficient. If there was one weak link in this company, it was the shipment representative, who was to keep us informed on the status of the shipment, but was somewhat negligent in proactively keeping us informed, which also may be result of the Royal Hawaiian Movers, poor receiving company's handling of this shipment.

Moving is so much more than throwing stuff in boxes and getting it from point A to point B. Trying to save money by moving yourself is the biggest mistake you can ever make unless you enjoy breaking your stuff, beating yourself up and taking several days to get it done. Star International Movers has a fantastic reputation that they have earned the hard way by doing things right, every time at a fair price. They tell you exactly what to expect and how to prepare for your move in order to make it as efficient and as cost-effective as possible. Our move was flawless with Star international Movers. The crew was phenomenal and extremely professional and took care of our stuff as if it was their own. The estimator knew everything about moving to help is through the process and the facilitator was always on point making sure that everything was planned and executed perfectly. The only reason they only get A’s is because that’s as good as it gets!

The entire process from estimate to the final move was painless. The crews that packed our things and moved us were on time, professional and extremely helpful. The crew leads (Chris and Moises) explained everything they were going to do and got it done in the time they estimated. My Family and I expected a few foibles, but the entire process was smooth and painless.

The President of the company Jimmy Re personally conducted the survey for the move and was very helpful in arranging for storage of the household goods as well as for the shipment. Two movers arrived as scheduled on the first of three days allocated for the household shipment, worked extremely hard and efficiently wrapping and packing household goods. On the second day additional workers arrived to finish packing and loaded the household goods into a moving van. The household goods were packed and moved to the warehouse for storage in two vice three days allotted. I have made moves throughout my career with the US Department of State to overseas posts, but I would say the Star International Movers were the best of the lot.

Outstanding! This was the second time we used Star International Movers for a move. One long distance and one a local. They are very professional, show up on time or even early and promptly get to work. The men are polite and respectful and work really hard. They don't leave until they have completed the work and you are satisfied. They make every effort to put your items where you would like them or at least in the room you want them to be. They put the beds back together as well as any other items they may have disassembled for the move. Everything is packaged very well and any items damaged were repaired and/or replaced. Very happy with their service and the follow up afterward. Would highly recommend!

When it comes to moving, I have not seen a better well oiled machine. It was almost military like. They wrapped all of my furniture with great detail. I felt bad because it was 100+ degrees and they worked as if it wasn't. Hardworking crew. I wouldn't use any other moving company.

They gave me a discount so that was appreciated. There were three people instead of two. I thought that the rate that they gave me based upon the number of movers they provided also helps justify the cost. I need a point of using them again because they did a really great job the first time. I didn't hire them to pack any of my things but they did what they needed to be done. They had wrapped everything really well when they moved me into the storage. Everything was still in excellent condition and they were very careful with the furniture that I have.

Everything went beautifully. The people at Star were great, friendly and very helpful. We've never done this before but they made it as painless as possible--explaining everything, getting back to me quickly all my questions for about the many forms required by the French government. Houria was fabulous, calm and helpful and very interesting. The moving guys were fast, responsive, and very careful, wrapping everything in a special kraft paper/bubble wrap and cardboard to make sure it would stay safe. Nothing broke. <br /> We had a slight glitch at the Paris end with needing to store things for a couple of weeks until the new flat was ready, and Houria responded immediately, worked with the local crew to make sure that things could be stored safely. Once we were ready, they quickly chose a date and the move in was smooth. <br /> As for the price, I have to say that I didn't look at any other international movers since Star's reviews on Angie's list were so good, so I don't know how their price compares to anyone else's. However, I know that it was cheaper than estimates we had for moving things from one coast to another about a decade ago. Even if they were more expensive than someone else, the experience was so good I would say to stick with Star. <br />

My wife and I were doing a local move and were quite stumped on who to use for moving services (neither of us are from NOVA). I made some inquiries to multiple moving companies and had no idea who to use (I looked for the best rated on Angie's List & Yelp). I'm glad I chose Star International Movers. Jimmy (the owner) did my home walk through and gave us an estimate that was quite reasonable (we had packing & moving services included). We had our apartment packed up by Chris and his crew who were on time (early actually), efficient, and very professional/friendly. The day of the move we had Chris & his crew again (which was great because they knew how many boxes, what furniture etc. was in the apartment) and they were as awesome as before. Chris & his crew did an amazing job at our new house unloading everything in its proper locations. The move went as scheduled (we also had a stop at a storage unit-it was a 9 hour day), the total price for the move was under the original estimate ($2600-Jimmy stated he quotes higher so there are no "gotchas" on the final bill) and everyone from the moving crew to the office staff( confirming move times, services, estimates etc.) were excellent. <br /> I would strongly recommend using Star International Movers for any move. <br />

<p>When you think about moving, the words easy and painless are typically not what comes to mind; however, with the assistance of Star International Movers I can say that my recent move was a painless and easy experience! The moving team arrived on time and diligent with each and every piece of my furniture. In addition, they were careful to put down blankets and wrap the furniture so not to damage the floors or walls in my home (something I cannot say for any other moving or delivery company ever in my past experience). They helped with the extras and were patient when I had questions and when I wanted to mop the floor prior to putting down the bed. I cannot recommend this company enough. Jimmy is top notch, he knows the business and has a qualified staff that makes the non-pleasant experience of moving, a painless and pleasant experience!!! Best move I have ever had!!!</p> <br />

Move our entire 5 bedroom household locally. The entire process was great. Professional and free estimate. Crew was on time and treated our belongings quite well. They cleaned up after themselves and when we couldn't find a glass table top a few days later they looked and it was in their truck and they drove it down the next day. <br />

My dad had a home in India and we sold it all. So, we moved some of the household items to here in our home in Maryland. So, I really had to pay these guys. They were really good. Before that, I had really looked for some companies even for some companies in Europe and one in India too. There was actually even a failed attempt in the sense that there was a company which tried to move our stuff and they could not even get it out of the port. I do not know why and they wasted time and some of our money. So, these guys were a breath of fresh air. They were really good. They had appointed this one person who was sort of like the belly button for the whole thing and I was able to always get status. I was really leery because of the first time experience and how things would actually make it. It took about a couple of months overall door to door through customs and everything, but they kept us informed. Everything came in. More or less, some things were broken a little bit, but you would expect that because they were old. Overall, I was extremely satisfied. They are very reliable people. I was very happy. I would recommend them very highly basically because it was a tedious process. They gave me an estimate and actually came under the estimate. That was very nice.

Star International Movers did an exceptional job of moving our household goods from VA to Europe. Jimmy surveyed our goods and explained the whole moving process. They provided a written estimate within a day. We did not have much time to get the goods packed up but Star International made it work so we could get the goods packed before we headed overseas. the packers did a very careful job of packing all the goods and provided us with a detailed inventory. Miguel, with Star, provided us with an update each step of the way as the goods made their way to the US port, overseas, through customs, etc. Miguel made sure that the european movers delivered the goods according to procedure specified in the contract. All of our goods arrived in excellent condition and without a scratch on anything. I would highly recommend Star International for an overseas move. They were very helpful, prompt, careful, and professional each step along the way. The move price was also a great value. <br />
