Do not be taken in by Joe Russo. He is not as he seems. As time went by a different scenario began to develop. Joe Russo told us his painters would start on our house in 2 weeks. Date should have been June 27th. To be fair it rained on some of those days so can understand the delay. However, I expected Joe to call us to adjust the date but never did. I called him at end of 2 weeks for new start date. Joe told me the end of the next week or beginning of next week. The next week came and went, no call and no show. We thought they would start on Mon of the next week. Still no show and no call. We were ready to leave on Tues to shop for other material we needed for further reno and painters show up. I called Joe to see why nothing was confirmed prior to them showing up and let him know if they had been 10 min later they would have a wasted trip from Stuart as all would have been locked and unable to enter property. His explanation was ?he told me end of the week or first of the next week.? Very poor communication on Joe?s part, not professional at all. This already did not set well with me and made me anxious.

Painters did not work on Fri, Jul 13, 2012, was told they had something else planned. Found out the next week they painted a dentist office. So much for Joe?s not wanting them to work more than 1 job at a time. Maybe another miscommunication!

Started painting the interior on Thurs Jul 19th. We had removed approximately 10 ft of crown moulding in the living and dining area to have repaired. Explained to the painters we would have that done before they finished if possible and that was to be painted as well. The moulding was there when Joe did his estimate and was part of the job. The moulding was completed 3 days before they supposedly finished the interior paint. This was not painted!!

We explained to painters what the agreement was with Joe for the cabinets and vanity - explained to Joe that we wanted cabinets sanded as they were laminate, then primer paint, and paint with oil base paint. He had agreed and painter said ?sounds about right?.

Mon, Jul 23, 2012 must have been ?D? day. They had been taking their time until today. They were in a rush to finish the job and actually stayed later to try and finish. They cleaned everything up and ready to leave without asking if all was ok. We made them get paint out of van as they had missed several places.

We had painted one set of base cabinet and primed 2 doors. They missed painting the doors until they were screwed back on base cabinet. Painter roller painted these and left the door edges with white primer and thought this would be satisfactory!! They did not sand, or use primer paint on the rest of the cabinets or doors. Did not use roller for remainder doors (20). Spray painted the doors outside in 90-93 degree heat and expected it to dry properly. The doors should have been painted in a controlled environment such as a shop in air conditioning. Needless to say they turned out horrible and they were placed back on cabinets and expected to pass. Paint bubbled, rough, light and dark places. I told them they would not do. I told them we were not happy and needed to talk to Joe. I tried to call several times but got voice mail and no call back. I tried to call Joe 3 times before they left, got voice mail.

Very sloppy in their work. Did not use plastic to cover furniture, etc.!! Have found paint on my leather couch, computer, desk, printer, TV stand, TV, etc. They painted the underside of my new granite counter top in the kitchen and bath with oil base paint. Why didn?t they use tape to protect? On Tues, Jul 24th I called Joe about 5 or 6 times only to receive his voice mail. Finally left message that I would give him a bad review on Angie?s list, and do whatever, or go wherever I needed to resolve. Joe finally called me back (after check was cashed and in his account - big mistake on my part) and said his people would fix them, give him a chance to make it right. Not so!! I told Joe on the phone I did not know how they would be able to fix the cabinets at this point, he needed to come see what I was talking about. Joe was a no show. Joe scheduled Fri, Jul 27, 2012 for the painters to return and resolve.

Painters show up on thurs Jul 27th to remove doors and prepare for next day. They stay for less than 2 hrs as one of the painters is frustrated and we are told they will return on Fri. Fri was a no show and no call. I call Joe 11 a.m. leave message asking if they are showing up at all. Joe has painter call me and give me his excuse. His truck has something wrong with it but he will be here on Sat. Sat was a no show, no call. Called Joe and got voice mail.

Painter shows up on Mon around 11 a.m. I asked if he was going to roller paint the doors, and primer. I was told no the spray would work this time. I told him I didn?t think it would be any different and if not they could redo again. They had taken the doors off again sanded some places and spray painted again in the heat. Came out even worse!!!! Not sure if we are going to be able to salvage them at all at this point. Evidently Joe does not care!! I tried to call Joe so many times and always got his voice mail. He called the painter Mon to see if I wanted to talk to him as he had voice mails when he returned from week-end of camping. Joe, if you were professional, or cared about the quality of work that your painters do, you would contact me and talk to me not your employees!! You would try to work things out and make it right. You need to give me a refund for at least the cabinets as your painters ruined them. I can?t even get you to come by and see what they have done. You want the money as you sure cashed that check the same day written, but it seems you do not care about the quality of work.

The exterior lights on the patio were painted blue to match old paint. The painters left lights blue. but painted the base (part connected to house) to match house. If this was quality work wouldn?t you paint the whole light? We were told that only what touches the house was painted.

The very last day anyone shows up was Tue Jul 31st. One painter arrived around noon and paints inside edge of exterior back door red, and interior of door white. Said he wasn?t supposed to but he would. When we told him the moulding was not painted as it should be and the arch in the kitchen needed another coat of paint, he told us he was out of white and gray paint. Painter put cabinet doors back on. Next thing we knew he was gone and called it quits. Very unprofessional!!!!! Proper thing should have been buy more paint and finish what you were hired to do.

The Patio was pressure washed, however, in the painting of the house they spilled the different colors of paint on the patio and left it. The outside edge of the patio was not pressure washed. You can see this from the street. Pointed this out to the painter and said it should also painted to match the house. It was painted to match, however, did not pressure wash. Just painted over the mold and dirt, looks horrible. Now the paint and the mold, etc., will have to be removed to fix.

Three out of four exterior
