Rick did an exceptional job installing hardwood flooring throughout our house. He is an expert craftsman that delivers flawless results. His installations are high quality because he pays attention to details and has excellent carpentry skills. He has a dustless system so no mess. He was a pleasure to work with, always on time, and cleaned up at the end of the day making it easy to live in our home during the installation. I highly recommend Rick.

Rick and Candice were a pleasure to work with, they were professional, prompt, and did a fantastic job. My floors were in pretty rough shape and my tile flooring installer said it was a little beyond his capabilities. He referred me to Sterling and said they were the best around the Kitsap Washington area. I called them and received a quote which I thought was very reasonable for the work that needed to be done. Rick performed wood patching and matching to my existing floors. He then took everything down to bare wood, refinished and varnished the entire floor. The end result was amazing and I was very happy. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing hardwood flooring services.

Fantastic! Rick installed hardwood in our living, dining rooms and a hallway and small vanity and it was just amazing how well it all went. He brought the wood into the house a couple of weeks before the install date so it could acclimatize to our temps. He showed up exactly on time, gave us help with moving the heavier furniture items out of the way and then "tented" the entire work area to minimize dust throughout the rest of the house. The whole job was just completely professional and timely and the cost was at or below what other neighbors have paid for similar work by other companies. In the past week he repaired an area of the kitchen where water got spilled during some other remodeling work and it is absolutely perfect. We could not be happier.

As he did with our master bedroom and office a couple of years ago, Rick showed up when he said he would, was pleasant to work with and did an excellent job. Obviously we would hire him again since we just did. George

Rick is very knowledgeable and professional about what he does and the products to use and was very patient with me on choosing a perfect stain for my awesome new hardwood floors. He was done in the time frame he said he would be finished. Rick also would clean up daily leaving no mess! The best part is that there was hardly any DUST !!! His price was totally acceptable. I will be calling Rick back to do other rooms in my home. I have and will refer Rick to family and friends for an excellent job!!!

Rick did an amazing job. The cuts and installation quality were perfect. The attention to detail was exceptional. The pricing for the entire job was very reasonable. I would highly recommend him.

He tore out the old vinyl floor and underlay and installed the new 2 1/4 inch red oak hardwood floor and stained and finished it to match the adjoining floors from 1946 and 1995. Results are beautiful, he is a true craftsman. Great attention to detail, like fitting the oak around the uneven base of the river rock fireplace hearth. He took great care to mask off the area with plastic sheeting to minimize the impact on the rest of the house. Appreciate the care they took to accommodate us with scheduling too.  Would definitely give a high recommendation for Sterling Smith Hardwood Floors. <br />

Rick came to look at what the job was and gave us a bid. He promptly scheduled us. When he arrived he was a one man show. He completed the install in 3 days. He was on time, he completed some other jobs that were out of scope of our agreement. we love our floors!!! I would highly recommend Rick to anyone who wants flooring installed without the headache. <br />

Rick knew about old wood floors – he did a 500% good job. He was kind, courteous, and worked around my husband’s illness and death. He was fast, courteous, clean - every adjective known to man, and he was it. I even gave him a key to my house, he was that trustworthy. He bent over backwards for me. His price was very reasonable for the work he put in and the hours.

They are very good.  They are very prompt.  He actually came out and did the full house over the weekend because his schedule & my schedule wouldn't match.  He ended up calling some of his staff and coming out to get my stuff done way ahead of the schedule.  I thought the price was reasonable.  The work was great, but the finish with the last 100 yards.

Refinished entire wood flooring and installed new flooring in family room.

Rick is very straight forward which I prefer when discussing work I?m hiring out. When discussing the finish on the stairs he told me the differences in the water based and polyurethane finishes, how each would wear and even how much the polyurethane would smell up the house. <br /> The only problems were with my not ordering enough material for the floor and when the power went out while he was working. He worked around these issues very professionally and I appreciate his patients. <br /> The flooring looks great, well fitted and cleaned up afterwards. I am very happy with the stairs, the fit and finish are great. <br /> The work he did was excellent, we are very happy with the results. <br /> <br /> <br />

Richard is a one man operation. He’s very reliable, timely, and detailed in his work. We’ve been very pleased with the outcome of his efforts.

The company had the lowest quote and was the first to respond. They fit us into their schedule to help us move into the house. The sanding and first coat was complete in one day. The entire job was complete in three days. The were a pleasure to deal with on the phone and at the job site.
