Great job - Steve came out and quoted when he said he would, the price was fair, and the work was done very quickly, within 2 weeks. His workers were skilled, showed up every day on time, were courteous, and they all did a great job. I would definitely recommend Steve for any remodeling and repair work!

It went great. Steve was very knowledgeable and capable, discussed the plan of how to fix the problem, before he did it, and allowed me to watch while we worked, and in the process, taught me a few tricks. He was very courteous, professional, and came on short notice to fix a tricky situation on a Saturday. He is the best, highly recommend!

The initial quote was close to our budget $225k. The (first) signed contract became $256k. In the middle of construction, after he was told many times that my parents were exhausting their savings in building the house (after we were already deeply into the project), we were told that Mr. Angiolillo required a new contract for $306k (or the project would stop); after we begrudgingly signed that (second) contract, after another number of months, Mr. Angiolillo requested a new contract for $352k, which we would not (could not) agree to (Mr. Angiolillo explained that this would pay for “most” of the work, and my 78-year old father, and 67-year old mother could, “get a mortgage,” in order to pay him the rest. That’s when we started looking into ending our relationship with him. For the most part, the work that was performed (done by Angiolillo’s subs) was good – there were some issues, such as the omission of a dryer vent, and some small head scratching issues, but most of the issues were not in the work, per say, but with Mr. Angiolillo, himself. He became erratic – fighting with one of his subs (that apparently, returned much later in the process, but whose departure GREATLY slowed any work being done) – involving a lot of cursing and ethnic slurs, and after that time, I saw less of Mr. Angiolillo, at the site, and when I did see him/hear from him, he was clearly not in good condition (slurring words, sometimes incoherent), and claiming that “things were costing more than he had planned, and “a lot more money would be required” to finish his project – on a day he was onsite, when a set of fiberglass doors (Jeld-Wen) impact doors, ordered from Home Depot (a brand he had recommended, and which cost about $4100) arrived, was impaired when he used a box cutter to help me removed the packing material, in order to inspect the doors – he put a big scratch on them (in front of me), then claimed he did not do it. On another day, he appeared at the site, to install windows, and was clearly impaired – we saw him stumbling around, while carrying the windows, cursing, while claiming he would, “install them himself” (since his sub had stopped coming to assist him) – shortly later, he appeared to be working on the window framing. My wife and I left him to his work, when , later that same day – around 8 or 9 pm - my wife told me that she saw his truck still at the job site, behind our house, and she said she was worried he was dead. We went out to investigate, and he was passed out, with his tools strewn throughout the yard, keys in the ignition, car doors open – it took several minutes to wake him; he was conscious, but looked very impaired, and did not speak, at first. I helped him recover a little and I helped him pick up and put his tools back in his vehicle; he spoke of issues including a car accident, and trouble at home. The aforementioned set of $4100 doors were hung, by Mr. Angiolillo (himself), and another worker, and when we examined the work, found the doors did not close (had to lock them in order to keep them from opening), and were scratched badly, on all sides. Much later, Mr. Angiolillo claimed that my parents had caused the issue by leaving the door open, to blow in the wind, and that, “inferior Home Depot paint”, was to blame for the scratches in the door – and for this install, he priced it at $2100 – higher than any rate I could quote, from anyone else. To cite another example, of this same behavior, one of Mr. Angiolillo’s last projects worked on for the guest house, was to paint the house (which he was fired, before it could occur), install drywall, stucco, and insulation. He quoted the painting work at $10k-11k, the drywall, stucco, and insulation at $35k. Since our “split” with Mr. Angiolillo, as our contractor, we had the work quoted by 3 additional, local contractors – painting averaged between $3500–$4500, drywall (smooth) was $8k, $1k for insulation, and $2k - $3500 for stucco. On another occasion, when I spoke to Mr. Agiolillo, he expressed frustration that my parents told him, that they were unable to come up with money, beyond the scope of the numbers they had (begrudgingly, and nearly exhausting their savings to do so) agreed to on the $306k contract, he stated his belief, that, “they (my parents) has $500k to their disposal, but they just wouldn’t give it (the money) to him. This practice of price exaggeration, constant demands for huge sums of money, past numbers on his own, signed contracts, bordering on extortion, and Mr. Angiolillo’s own erratic behavior, are my parents’ biggest issues with Steve’s Home Improvements of Palm Beach, Inc., and less the work, with any of its flaws. God help anyone who hires him for this type of project!

"We contracted with [Member Name Removed] for a 1054 square-foot house with no paperwork because he had hired another contractor to pull the permit the permits were at the county we signed a contract based on 1,054 SQ feet at 225$ per foot ,we move forward got the permits realize that the house was not 1054 it was 1495 which left a $99,000 difference add a $225 a square foot price agree on at 1,054 about all of us this became a real problem with them obviously they did this to the first contractor as well which is why he left and he wasn’t able to complete the complications of this project due to health department Which I had to hire a team of engineers and brought my highly trained crew to the project we had five subcontractors Plumbing Air Conditioning Electrical septic tank and roofing they were informed they had to pay additional cost for all engineering and permit reports also they sign a change order upgrading the project from 1,054 to 1495 to meaning that the cost would increase to 355,000$ being the highest point I gave we build the shell we frame the trusses plywood and the roof I pulled separate permits for the roof permit which they refused to pay for we built the shell ,trusses ,all wall framing , plumbing rough ,electric, concrete block , stucco , all roofing done and passed , all insulation and sheet rock , ,airconditioning it insulated and drywall that completed all the AC duck work completed the electrical rough inspections completed the plumbing inspections both the waterline and the new 250 foot electric line had to tie into the old house they were separate priced issues very expensive anyway after I passed all my inspections with were flying colors in the house was absolutely done with perfection [Member Name Removed] and his mother and father decided they were NOT going to pay me any more money so they hired a lawyer and told me I was barred from the project I was totally shocked after going through all that trouble in building them in this beautiful house the bottom line they rob me for $100,000"

Well the work went alright but they didn't remove the old wood and door. He said just tip the garbage man extra and he'll probably take it away. Didn't work out. What got me though was he charged me an extra 5% for using a credit card which I think is excessive. The last contractor took credit cards and didn't charge me extra. I had already given Steve a deposit for this job though so I was kind of stuck.

Steve not only knows construction and design but can also think outside the box when issues arise. He has good ideas and can help the less experienced through a project. Not only that but my master sewer line backed up while he was working and he brought his snake out to try to unclog it which wasn’t included in the original scope of work. Overall he’s a very nice guy who gets the job done right.

Took multiple attempts to get the repair to blend with existing ceiling. Steve stuck with it and now it blends adequately. The white paint matches unless it is a very bright day, you have a very critical eye, and know where to look.

What I appreciated most from the onset of the project was that Steve listened to what I had to say. He showed up on time and worked diligently throughout the project. If I had any questions he was always willing to provide a complete answer. At the conclusion of his work he walked around the house making sure that everything was cleaned up and shipshape. Steve was very customer centric and professional. I have more plans for utilizing his expertise in home improvement and plumbing.

Project went very well. Steve was responsive and got the project completed in the timeline we needed it completed. We took out the bath tub and added a nice walk in shower. We had the ceramic tile replaced with marble stone in and out of the shower. He cut and buffed the marble on site. Steve added new vanity, fixtures, Outside window, LED lighting and painted it to our satisfaction. Bathroom looks fantastic! It looks so good we are going to have Steve do another Bedroom in January.

The day he showed up everything was fine. He gave me his phone number to have him come back to finish the job. I called three times and he never returned my phone called and he never showed up. He did what we had asked him to do but there were things still to be done. What he did was fine, that’s why we wanted him to come back.

When we signed the papers, Steve was quick to take us to Home Depot and a couple of other ceramic shops to find the best deals and to understand what our tastes are like. Steve also took us to his house to show his work, which was a good sense of his skill level. He is working for you the whole time, thinking of the way that you will like the ultimate product. This is also the time when you get to know Steve. Steve can be a bit pushy, but you want someone that knows what they are doing and isn't afraid to tell it like it is. This was a major job, so, we were very cautious and a bit scared of the amount of money we were about to spend. The contract was for a set amount, but that doesn't include any materials, which is also a very big and endless amount. There is a lot of logistics trying to figure everything out and I would suggest getting a pad of paper to start the lists of materials you need to buy and a folder to keep all the receipts since when the job is done some things are returnable. As I mentioned the materials are on your own, so, it depends on your taste on how much you want to pay. The good side about Steve is, he doesn't take any percentage off the top to pick-up at any store (Home Depot preferred since it's close to him), but he went all over town to pick up the material. With Home Depot, he would pick up materials there and then HD would call you for a credit card. The first time is awkward, but then it just happens and it adds to the list. Work that was done included demo, moving materials to the Waste Management dumpster bags, ceiling popcorn removal, laid floor, wall and shower tile beautifully, glass inlay, painting (executing on another level), sanding doors, installing doors, shower doors, new faucets, electric fixtures and installation of vanity (leveled exact) and mirror. At the end of our project, there is no doubt, we would hire Steve again to do any job in our house. It took about three weeks from start to finish. It is never easy doing any construction job, but it worked out very well for us.
