These guys are amazing!! Don't even bother with other companies. Complete professionalism and knowledgeable. The closest I got to having my outdoor living area was going to my mom and dads. My parents were right, Pete and his care did a great job. Not only did they build on outside kitchen they built a fire pit area separate from the kitchen area. StoneMark did an amazing job installing our new patio this year. It was ultimately a smooth process from start to finish which we hadn't experience with any other contractor before. Pete was great with design ideas and layouts. Their prices are very competitive and will give you the best deal for the job. I can't say enough good things about Pete and his crew. I knew Pete from a prior job and called him back to take a look at additional work I wanted to have done. He was quick to come out and look at what I wanted, shared his ideas and provided a fair price. I scheduled the work and his crew completed in a timely matter. There were a couple things I noticed afterwards and when I contacted Pete he immediately scheduled his crew to come back and fix the issues to my satisfaction. Happy with the end result and have recommended him to family and friends.

Pete came out to inspect the job, made recommendations for the work to be done and then delivered his proposal via email. His crew did a terrific job on all the work. I am very pleased with the completed project and look forward to working with this company again when maintenance is due next.

The work was wonderful. I called and set up an appointment with the owner Pete who came on time. We went over the project & He listened to my thoughts & ideas. He didn't try to sell me a new product ..I wanted to re-use the bricks I had which are the old Chicago pavers. I was very pleased with Pete's knowledge and understanding. His bid wasn't the highest nor lowest I'd received but it was fair. I am so happy I went with StoneMark. Pete was easy to work with, he knew what he was doing & he's very knowledgeable. His crew was amazing as well. They were very reliable, hardworking, worked well together & also knew what they were doing. The job was completed in two days and it look besutiful. I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend StoneMark and would use them again in a heart beat.

Pete and his StoneMark crew installed a beautiful paver patio for us. Pete was great during the planning phase, using his expertise to make suggestions for the design. He dealt with all the permits, and was personally there for the inspections, to make sure nothing was missed. The crew was neat and professional throughout the project. We couldn't be happier. Well be using StoneMark next year for our backyard patio and fire pit, and the following year for our driveway.

I'm so excited about our front & back yards so pardon me for rambling on but feel free to skip halfway down the post to read about the AMAZING StoneMark Hardscapes: We bought our home 4 years ago in foreclosure and the backyard was literally rotting and the eyesore of the neighborhood. My husband and I served as GCs for the entire interior and exterior work, and neighbors loved it, when we got to the back and front yards, we were financially depleted yet wanted our yard to be a show-stopper and had no idea where to turn. We called random companies throughout the city, some drew images of what they could do, others told us what they could do but the key attributes we wanted like, a fire pit, some sort of a water feature etc carried a hefty price at least by the standard of most of the contractors. We were so exasperated, frustrated and had lost all hope because by the time we finished rebuilding the house itself, we did not have enough money to work the yard of our dreams (and we didn't think having a fire pit should be that unattainable). One day the light bulb went off to go to Lurvey (google it if you don't know, yes they seem pricey but mind you we went in pretty well informed because we have already talked to to many contractors), they helped us come up with designs at a cost and recommended a couple of companies- I just thought "I'm sure we cannot afford a Lurvey-recommended contractor, no way in ****" We spoke with both companies; met one company that we weren't so sure about and then met with the owner of StoneMark Hardscapes, Inc (Pete). My husband and I were immediately taken aback, he just stood out. You could tell he has enough jobs and he is at the point where his goal is to make the client exceptionally happy. He was pleasant, laid back, jovial, positive and just genuinely excited to work with us. We discussed the yards, showed him our designs, he added some suggestions, provided paver and cost saving options and we knew without a doubt, this was our guy. His cost estimate was very fair and although I was still worried about a few added feature here and there after his estimate, he kept saying "don't worry about it, we will figure it out" which gave me a lot of comfort and we did figure it out. I had a great vibe about Pete and I was right (remember, we GC'd our entire home build-out talking to 2-3 contractors for each scope so we know when the right guy is around). Pete met us at Lurvey and we spent a lot of time selecting every single type of stone; from the pavers, seat wall, fire pit, paver trim, water feature, flagstone for the front etc. I mean, he took a lot of time out for us without rushing us. On the first day of work, him and his crew showed up on time and it felt like magic (not kidding) it felt so great seeing the bobcat, trucks and equipment ready to haul out our rotting yard. The energy between Pete and his guys was exceptional, you can tell they are happy and love working with him. One of his guys, Jose, is in my mind, The visual artist; great, amazing guy with a laser-sharp eye for precision and design. The guys were all great, worked hard and gave their all to us and our house. We have had several fires in our backyard, soooo many compliments from neighbors and knowing that we were not taken to the cleaners on price is SUCH a heartwarming feeling and I cannot recommend this company enough. I urge you, just call Pete, you will be pleased, doesn't matter how small or large your space is. Great service, great work, great prices and fair all around.

Why I Hired: Happened to see StoneMark's work and met 2 of the work team on another job, nearby. It was beautiful. Impressed by the enthusiasm owner, Pete, had for my job. He 'sees' your project in his mind. Willing to accommodating requests I had that other companies would not consider: curves, curves, curves. Made really good suggestions that enhanced my ideas; improved on them. I had many questions and concerns. Pete answered them all. Price was competitive. Expensive, but within the norm for this work. The Actual Build Experience: Pete made sure we were clear on materials and the process. He met me at the stone yard to choose pavers and other stone. The men doing the work are the most dedicated and competent I have known. They worked tirelessly. They worked as a team. The work was heavy and hard, yet it went on flawlessly. They They 'fixed' outlines in order to make the shape right. I wanted curved edges, and to have that required careful placement and measurements for the arcs to be perfect. They are experts in this particular application, and in placing the pavers perfectly. There was no wasted time, once the project began. My ~ 400 square foot space took about 4 days to finish. All materials, underlayment and pavers are clearly quality. We have a ramped up Village inspection requirement which was handled professionally, even when adjustments were needed. The inspector commented to me on the quality of the work, as did the cement contractor who later repaved my driveway. The end project is breathlessly beautiful. OK, so the old patio was so horrible most anything would have been better, but the outcome was beyond my expectation and fits beautifully with the existing gardens. They returned promptly to reset the edge of the service walk abutting the driveway that was disturbed when a new driveway was laid. Reality Checks: These guys are good and so are very busy. Scheduling can be tricky and if there is rain, time gets set back. I was not prepared for how long it took for the project to begin - at least 8 weeks. I found it hard to have my yard become a construction site. It took me a bit of time to realize that if you want to have this work you must realize it will be a mess, and some trampling, and some reconstruction along the edges (grass seeding, mulching, re-planting) is likely. It is scary for me to be overrun with construction, but once Pete reminded me that 'hey, it's a construction site,' I was able to calm down. This project was straightforward: no fire pits, built-in grills, or retaining/sitting walls. They can't fix everything. I still have ants excavating! Finally: The patio is beautiful, just beautiful!

Pete and his people are first class professionals. We couldn't be happier with their work. The project came out better than I'd hoped for. My neighbors are jealous!

They came highly recommended and we were not disappointed! Pete Pontikis came up with a beautiful design and he was reasonably priced. There were a lot of choices and he really helped us narrow it down based on his years of experience and expertise and what would look nice in our yard. In addition, he was extremely personable! His team of workers which included, Oscar, Jose, Angel, Jesus, Alvaro and Juan, were hardworking, meticulous and cleaned up our yard every day before leaving. They had great ideas and executed on them. We could not be happier with the result. It is truly a little paradise in our backyard.

We set up an appointment with Pete to show him what we had in mind and get an estimate. He was right on time and had a perfect level of friendliness and professionalism. He didn't talk to my husband and I like a salesman but addressed our requests professionally and helped us stay within our budget. He had a wide variety of paver options and made great suggestions on the design of our patio. I immediately knew we would use him for the job. The day of installation he along side his crew showed up right when they said they would. All of his guys worked so hard and did an amazing job on our patio. Each step of installation was done precise and to perfection. (I know because I watched the process eagerly through the window) I highly recommend StoneMark Hardscapes and will be telling all my friends and family about them. Pete was great to work with. He worked with us on price and design. Pete was patient with all our questions. We got his names from friends who were also happy. The workers were on time and very fast. They were very easy to work with. We were extremely happy with the work that was done.

The experience with Pete and Stonemark could not have been more pleasant. I met with four other contractors who have similar businesses. Pete was not only the most personable, but I could tell from the first time we met that he cares about his work, reputation and client’s needs. Pete was instrumental in the planning of our patio. He provided a timely estimate with detailed description of work to be completed. He also provided separate costs for the patio, walkway/front porch, seating wall/pillars and lights. Pete removed the pressure and made it clear that the costs would not change, even if the work would not all be completed at the same time. We eventually chose to move forward with the entire project. We couldn’t be happier with the results! After we selected Stonemark as our preferred contractor for this job, we met out at Lurvey Landscape Supply to decide on the materials and brainstorm ideas. Pete let us lead the way but provided excellent ideas on design and materials. He even provided a video 3D rendering to ensure we were on the same page and could visualize before the project started. Pete maintained constant contact and provided updates on estimated start date even through some inclement weather which delayed us a few days. When the big day arrived, Pete showed up on time with his crew to walk through the plans and map out exactly where the pavers were to be set. Pete, his foreman and crew let us know that if we had any questions during the process to let them know. Any suggestion we made was handled quickly during the process with no questions asked. If you are considering any type of hardscape project for your home, I would highly recommend Stonemark!

Pete was great from the start. He immediately came out to measure and talk options, and once we picked out some stones we liked, he was very prompt with the quotes. He answered all of our questions and worked with us on what we wanted, and he kept us informed throughout the entire permit and scheduling process. The install only took half a day, and the crew was very professional and did amazing work. They were efficient and respectful of our property, and the end product looks fabulous. I would highly recommend StoneMark Hardscapes for any brick or paving work. Excellent customer service and workmanship.

Pete and his team has a done an excellent job from the time we requested an estimate to project execution. They were very reasonable. Pete is very meticulous and explained all the items his team would perform and it is well documented in the contract. He did pull all the permits and contacted JULIE. The job was completed in a timely manner. The team lead by foreman Jose knows exactly what needs to be done. Their design and attention to detail is terrific. We have received several compliments from friends, neighbors and family. They even went out of their way to do work that was not in the contract. We were very happy with the work and the crew is amazing. Final photos are also referenced. We highly recommend Stonemark for their craftsmanship and hard work.

Pete's crew led by his foreman Jose demonstrated excellent skills in the complex design and completion of the patio and sidewalks. The crew worked very clean and the project was completed on time. The owner was very helpful in the material selection design and interface with the city regarding permits etc. pricing was reasonable and very competitive with peers specializing in stone work only.
