<p>Good - the carpet is great and they did a fantastic job on the installation. It looks wonderful. </p> <p>The only annoying thing is that they charge extra for everything, including $100 a room to move and replace your furniture. That seemed like a lot. We are seniors and can't move it ourselves, and $100 for both rooms would have seemed more reasonable. But the installers were excellent - they did everything right and cleaned up after themselves nicely.</p> <br />

When I called for an estimate I was surprised at how quickly Mr. Straus was able to come. I knew the carpeting I wanted and he was able to get it in a reasonable time. (The carpet had to be run specially by the manufacturer.) When my remodel slowed down, he was very flexible about re-scheduling the date of installation to meet my new needs. The installation was painless, with workers arriving exactly when they said they would, cleaning up after themselves, and making seams that were almost invisible, with a single exception. When I wrote Mr. Straus that my worry was not about the lack of invisibility of a single seam but the fear it might unravel with time. He guaranteed he would fix it if that happened. Given lots of info. when initially went to Strauss in re.. to carpet types and materials, what would be good with cats, multiple carpet squares to take home. Person who came to home to measure and give estimate was on time, very friendly and professional. When estimate given had as long as needed to place order without pressure. Half of total price paid by check (small discount for not using credit card) when order placed. On day of appointment to install the installers were even early, removed furniture very efficiently, installation done and furniture replaced nicely as directed by myself since some minor changes. Was asked to approve the work which seemed very nicely done and then signed and paid second half by check. <br /> Five days later am very happy with how the carpet looks and feels . Already one cat throw-up which was a breeze to clean up. <br /> <br /> <br />

The service was good. I was there when the actually installers were there. I really appreciated them. They were fast and professional. They were not the lowest price but they were able to complete the work quickly.

I'm very happy with their service. They came from out of town to do the work and they charged me less than their original estimate.

The sales staff, "Liz" and "Rita," were outstanding. Tom Strauss, president of the company, patiently answered all of my detailed questions--and demonstrated exceedingly dry wit from time to time. <br /> My wife and I chose Cambridge Turnberry 6269 carpet, model "Stroke" 26910 for the carpet in the hallways of apartments 1 and 2, a style and model Straus had installed a few years earlier which we found to be an excellent carpet for heavy tenant foot traffic. The installation crew was punctual, efficient, and, in sum, did an outstanding job. A sitting tenant is now very pleased with her new carpet. My wife and I are likewise pleased with the carpet in the refurbished apartment we will rent this summer. <br /> We are especially happy with the green, 100% rubber, 100-oz. professional sound proofing padding in the bedroom. The thick Royalty "Vermillion Traveling Tan" carpet and padding together provide a luxurious, ultra quiet floor covering for the bedroom. <br /> The Straus carpeting team gave us their best service. We could not have chosen a better carpeting company. And thanks to my brother, Ross, and his wife, Ginny, for recommending the Straus Carpet Company. <br />

Carpet installation went just fine, have no complaints about the service, quality or anything else except that we never got the 10% discount for finding this company on Angie's list. I was not there when it was done and my son said they didn't ask anything, but strangely enough left him with Angie's list fridge magnet!!! <br /> So, make sure you mention that when you call for the service. I am little sad, because my son is a struggling veteran trying to improve his life and habitat on a shoestring budget, but is always reluctant to ask for any discounts or prefferential treatment... <br />

The sales person worked with me from the time I got there thru the entire purchase and my taking the items home. She <br /> also followed up with a card in the mail thanking me. She was very knowledgable about sizes and types of area rugs and was able to help me shop much faster as she could help me find the specific size/type I was looking for. I was not able to take the runner home that day because they have to cut it from the large roll, and then bind the edge, so that took only a day or so and I went <br /> back and picked the rugs and mats up and they helped me load them into my car. <br /> I received a very good price on the rugs and my sales person was very helpful. She did not put a lot of pressure on me, she <br /> was just helpful. <br />

Needed carpet, called a few places, Straus was most responsive for in-home consultaton. Visited showroom for more ideas. Spoke with Tom and got more valuable advice. Carpet installed 3 days later. Nothing but good things to say.

Very professional. Honest consultation and good quality work

The sales lady was very helpful. She came out to the house with various samples. I also worked with her. She was very knowledgeable.

The price seemed very reasonable and the sales representative was very good. They allow you to take the rug home on a trial basis and then you tell them if you don’t want it; they don’t charge you until you affirm that you want it.

Tom in the showroom was a lovely guy, helpful without applying any pressure at all. Gave me a good deal on the carpet I wanted, arranged for installation the following day. His guys arrived exactly when they said they would, worked efficiently, and were done before the estimated time. It looks great.
