Streamline Builders & Framing

I ordered a consultation & design from an Angie's List offer. I received an initial consultation and price quote but never heard from them again after I asked for a more detailed price estimate (which I asked for in the first place). I will be using another company for my home remodeling.

They were polite, professional, and timely. Their estimate was extremely high and we did not go with them.

David Romero was a pleasure to work with, very friendly, and responsive. His crew members were also friendly and efficient, and cleaned up after themselves well. There were some miss communications or lack of communication between him, his subcontractor and me in the selection and cost of the quartzite. This affected the integrity of the original estimate I was given. Subcontractor didn't let us know about specific type/thickness of stone purchased (based on the color I picked) until after he purchased it and this increased cost significantly. I likely would have agreed to the situation anyway to make things work, but the point is neither David or I knew about the cost in advance of purchase. Had I known, I could have taken another look at my countertop choices and compared costs one more time. I purchased sinks and faucets myself to get the quality I wanted, that also exceeded allowances in contractor's estimate and affected overall cost, but it was a conscious choice by me, and I paid for them separately....with upfront agreement from David. I would hire him again, but I would make certain to work with him more closely and in more detail on all the project elements and costs, and keep doing so if the project evolves. I would also clarify who pays subcontractors as work is completed. Based on experiences with other contractors, I prefer to conduct all business matters (estimates, contracts, changes, payments, etc) with one responsible party, the contractor.

David contacted me quickly and came to my home to take measurements and discuss my needs. He was very good and professional.

About a year and a half ago, I contacted them through Angie's list. I paid for the deal and the guy came by to look at doing an addition. He told me he was going to email me the plans he drew up within a week or two. I never got such an email. I realized that that was not a good time to do it so I let it pass. Now I'm thinking of doing it again. I was thinking of converting my garage into additional working space. I didn't know Streamline Builders were the ones I had contacted before. When I called them and the man that picked up said his name was David, I recalled using them through Angie's list. He said he had sent the email and asked me to look it up. I then told him to resend it to me otherwise I was never going to use their services again because I was dissatisfied with them. He then agreed to send the plan he had drawn a year and a half ago and said he was going to refund my big deal purchase. I know he must never have done that work because he never resent the email as quickly as I wanted him to. I get that he was lying to me. I just want to see if he's going to refund that money he promised to. I have never been able to verify that he in fact refunded that money. I am just very unhappy about it. He keeps telling me he's working on other people's houses first and I really don't care about that because he is supposed to be working on mine.

The tile contractor did a great job with both bathrooms.  David, owner, went through the process with you including doing the design and meeting him to order the tiles.  David also allowed me to purchase some of the items (lights, faucets, and shower heads) that I knew I could get a great deal on Amazon and did not have the profit markup.  I also purchased two commodes from COSTCO that also saved me dollars.  There was some delays with tiles but the wait was worth it.  There was also a mixed up with the shower window contractor but we changed to another shower glass contractor.  There were also some unforeseen issues (with all remodeling) but it was handled in a professional manner and a reasonable price.  David was very professional and great to work with.  We are extremely pleased with our two bathrooms. <br />

Mr. Romero met with my husband and I discussed  the project. My husband and David designed a new set ot stairs from the garage into the house which were much more user friendly and met  code. He promptly gave us an estimate. He then helped us out by fiting us into a busy schedule quickly. They came one day and removed the old steps and framed in the new steps but left us with temporary  railings so we could use the steps until they came back. Then after Thanksgiving came back and complleted the job. David was very attentive to detail and very thoughtful in having me come and talk about the height of the rails. The finished product is fabulous and quite classy for garage steps. The finishing touches are great. Overall a very pleasant and stress free experience! <br />

A scheduled appointment was taken by the owner of Streamline Builders. I explained what I wanted in broad strokes. He was very brief in his visit and assured me he would respond in two or three weeks. After no contact from him for three weeks, I called him and he asked for more time.  He had not provided the promised estimate/consultation by the 30 day period of Angie's return policy. At five weeks after the original visit by the contractor, I started contacting Streamline Builders again and was promised on 6 separate occasions over the following two weeks of the delivery of the estimate/CAD drawings promised. <br />     Each contact resulted in another excuse for non delivery of the prepaid estimate. The final message I left prompted a an e--mail response over seven weeks after payment.  The CAD drawing didn't reflect my desired placement of the bathtub/shower and was woefully lacking in detail and dimensions. <br /> This was not worth the money or time spent. <br />

The work was performed in a professional manner during a 3-week period ( except for a 2-week delay in getting started due to the late delivery of the kitchen cabinets).  The work area was constantly kept clean. David Romero oversaw all the work of the subcontractors and supervised the work of his crew.  David was pleasant to work with and his attention to detail was second to none in my experience.  I would highly recommend Streamline Builders for your next building or remodeling project.

I paid for a set of architectural drawings and a quote for a new kitchen (one of the Angie's List Deals claiming it was a $500 value). He showed up and discussed some rough options and said he would have everything done within two weeks. We scheduled a meeting and I took time off work to meet with him two weeks later. He never showed up and I haven't heard anything since. I am yet to see any drawings and it has been several months. This has ended up being a complete waste of money and my time. <br />

David met with us promptly, and gave us the information we needed on adding on a room and a porch to out house.  He then returned with a plan with costs, for our consideration.  He was helpful and most professional. <br />

David is a very nice, friendly guy who came to my home and discussed ideas with me for my kitchen remodel.  He took measurements and a video and, as promised, returned a week later with a plan and a spreadsheet budget.  Streamline is the first contractor that I?ve talked with about remodeling my kitchen. So I have nothing to compare regarding price, timeline and products.  I told him that I would be contacting other contractors for comparisons and at this time, I am still in that process. <br />

David Romero, the owner, came to our house and interviewed us to find out exactly what we wanted for our kitchen remodel. He then proceeded to provide us with detailed plans and isometrics and an accompanying estimate. David was friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive.  He offered many suggestions and returned to our house more than once to complete this package exactly how we wanted it, in spite of the fact that we changed our mind more than once on details of the remodel. <br />
