I hired Dallas Stuckey to remodel my bathroom. He was to tear out a wall, remove wall paneling and replace with sheet rock, remove tub and tub liner to be replaced with a whirlpool tub. He was to build a frame for the tub, tile around the tub and tile the floor. He was to hang a new door, replace frame around window and lay tile on the ledge, build a linen cabinet, put in a new vanity and install new toilet. Day 1 demo went well. Day 2 had sheet rock hung. Day 3 had tub to be brought in, after they took out the door frame and wall, to be able to get tub into the bathroom, frame to be built to put tub in and new toilet put in, things were moving right along. Day 4 had them doing some mud and taping, painting and doing some tile work around the top of the tub cabinet. This is where things started going down hill and they just continued to get worse each day. They did not sand the walls smoothly before painting so you can see all the seams and nail heads etc, the tile work was the worst I had seen but we gave them the benefit of the doubt and when they returned on day 5 they started to lay tile on the floor. He was asked if he needed to put anything on the wooden sub floor before laying tile and he assured me he didn't. I asked him about having something on the floor that would give so the tile wouldn't crack and he assured me he had never had any problems with tile that he had laid. Day 6 continued with tile being put around the tub cabinet and on the floor. Never have I seen such poor quality work in laying tile, uneven and huge amounts of grout in one place, little in others, pieces of the cement board sticking out of the grout, very jagged edges, nothing butted together, it was the most horrible job of tile laying to be done by someone who was suppose to know what he was doing. I am sick at this point and not sure what to do. Day 7 he works on finishing putting the tub together--drain and faucets--he chips the tub putting in the faucet, installs the faucets backwards--the hot faucet turns on by pushing toward the wall and the cold faucet turns on by pulling towards the tub. What in the world--does this guy know what he is doing? Now remember he is installing a whirlpool tub that has electrical parts under it so we will need access under the tub in case we have any problems--he tiles in the entire frame of the tub and leaves us no access--REALLY. We find out that he has wired everything into one outlet so the exhaust fan, wall outlet, light, and tub only work when the bathroom light is on--REALLY. Then our hall light quit working and when asked about that he didn't have a clue why it didn't work, we never had any issues with it until he wired the bathroom wrong, and guess what the hall light now only works when the bathroom light is on--REALLY. He was asked to build a cabinet which he told me he would do, what he built was a shelf and when asked if he was going to put doors on it he told me that was above what he could do--REALLY. He obviously could not cut a straight line, assured me he knew how to stain the crown molding and baseboards, what a joke, that is the most uneven stain job that I have seen and he never even tried to put a second coat on. He jacked up the entire door frame when trying to hang it and had my husband not been standing there with a level to tell them they needed to level the door who knows what would have happened. Anyway the door doesn't close like it is suppose to--imagine that. He had to replace the wall that he cut out and you guessed it is he did a poor job of mud, taping, and painting. This was a job that an amateur would do not someone who was suppose to be doing as his profession. By now this job has gone from bad to worse, don't know what to do but tell them to leave. They flooded my brand new vanity as they didn't know how to hook up the plumbing so needless to say that was the straw that broke the camels back. I now have a destroyed bathroom that is going to have to be completely redone, electrical that is going to have to be redone as now I have no electricity In my master bathroom and living room, and a plumber to come in and redo all his screw ups. This man was suppose to be someone who knew what he was doing, unfortunately he didn't. I would definitely NOT recommend this man for anything and I give him a rating of F. I don't know if it could get any worse. I hope this review will keep someone else from being completely dissatisfied by hiring this NON-professional. I would add pictures if I could.
