About us

I served with a HVAC/Plumbing company back in 1988. I mostly work on ductwork and plumbing back in those days. After about a year I started a plumbing company serving the Huntsville area. After about 2 years I received an offer with a large local church to serve as a maintenance supervisor. Then in 1995 I attended NARS Training Systems taking all 4 HVAC training classes (Tech I, II, III and IV). After completing my studies I joined Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES). I became the local chapter president in 2000 and received the "Rising Star" Award that same year. Then I spent the next 12 years servicing the church's 60+ HVAC systems. After 15 years of service with them I was offered a Chief Engineer position with Embassy Suite in May of 2007. Then after almost 2 years of serving there and seeing the economy having a down turn, I struck out on my own. I'm the sole proprietor of Sub-Systems Services. I've lived right here in Huntsville, Alabama most of my life. Except for a 2 year period I lived overseas serving as a missionary. I believe in service with honesty and integrity. I also believe in receiving a fair wage for competent work. I'm committed to service that you can trust. A/C went out on a Friday and James was responsive immediately and got a unit as soon as we said yes based on his estimate then started the work on Friday and finished it on Saturday! Very impressed with his service and he kept us up to date as to permits, inspections, and finished install. I have used Sub-Systems for water heater replacement, routine HVAC maintenance, minor repairs to plumbing and HVAC, and now large install projects...I will continue to use Sub-Systems because of the reliability and quality at an affordable price.

After careful local consideration of several Heating and Cooling companies, Mr Parham and his company did the install on my new central unit, and continues to service it after installation.  His professionalism is exemplary, his rates are reasonable, and the products he uses are solid.   <br /> I recommend Sub-Systems Services above others.

We had called 4 other companies and everyone was too booked up to get to us that evening. My husband left a message for Sub-Systems Services and got an immediate call back. Mr. Parham was actually in the neighborhood and said he could get to us quickly. My husband was impressed by his quick positive service and by the price. We were charged a fair price for a fair job. Mr. Parham did not charge an expensive after-hours flat rate. We will definitely call him for future needs. <br />

It went extremely well. The work was completed in a timely manner and the price was excellent. <br /> <br /> James Parham performed the work. He soldered the pipe really well to prevent it from leaking. The pipe has not leaked since he repaired it.
