Services we offer

We primarily do solar installations for residential homes. We also do some commercial properties. In preparation for solar, we do not offer energy efficiency audits due to the overwhelming amount of residential solar installations we have lined up., we may implement other energy saving tactics to reduce the amount of solar you need to completely offset your energy usage. The install went pretty smoothly. Finished on time and was up and running quickly. The inspector came and failed the the inspection. They fixed the problems and we passed (not a great sign). About a week or so later I got a letter from the sub contractor company that did the install saying that they require payment or they will lien my house. I had already paid in full. I contacted Summerlin Energy and they did get that lien removed (it seems that they drag their feet paying subs and this is not so unusual but strike 2). A year passes and I have water damage in one room. I have a contractor come and tear it apart and start the repair including remediation of the mold problem that has happened. Upon inspection it is clear that they have driven nails through the roof material and not sealed up the areas over there properly. I eventually reached a summerlin energy guy who came and confirmed that it was all their fault (marks for honesty here) and that they will pay. They cover the repairs. I have heard from others that they pulled the "lien" stunt often and sometimes left the homeowner with liability for work that they had already paid for. To the best of my knowledge they are not in business anymore.

They subbed out the install. Initially they didn't pay the sub and I got a notice of lien in the mail. I confronted summerlin energy and they fixed the issue. Later we had. Major leak where they had punctured our roof in several places. We needed mold remediation and significant repair. They did ultimately agree to pay for the fix. I think the company has closed its doors since then.

At first all went well. The company obtained all the permits and performed the installation timely. Initially the only problem was a few loose conduit clips that were replaced, but leaving damage to the stucco. Then came the lien claims from suppliers/subcontractors who were not paid for the equipment supplied and labor. It appears I will have to pay the suppliers in order to avoid a lien filing, although Summerlin Energy was paid in full on the contract in December, 2015 upon completion of the installation. Now they do not answer their telephones, nor do they respond to email. It appears they have gone out of business. I am filing a complaint with the Nevada State Contractors Board and a claim with Summerlin Energy's bonding company for the supplier claim that I will have to pay to avoid a lien.

Working with this company has been one of the worst experiences of my life. From incompetent engineering to cost overruns to scheduling delays to listening to excuse after excuse, this has been undeniably one of the worst nightmares my family and I have had to endure and a HUGE financial loss we may have to live with for a long time to come. Like other customers of this firm, we were promised a system that would eliminate our electric bill and be delivered within 4-6 weeks of signing our contract. In every aspect, Summerlin Energy FAILED. The system was not delivered on time but three months late with cost overruns of nearly $2K. I had to personally meet with the VP and Sales Director and withhold substantial payments just to force the installation or most likely without withholding payments, I would still be waiting. In that meeting, the VP assured me things would change and I would receive the system I was promised. Fast Forward to today...the system was finally installed but in its present form is grossly underperforming and we continue to receive electric bills month after month. Our savings has been in the neighborhood of 30% not the 110-120% we were promised. In the three months since our system came online, I have reached out on multiple occasions to this company to rectify the problems with their system. Their response...NOTHING!!, despite a clear written warranty which obligates them to do so. Even the same VP who repeatedly gave his personal assurances no longer returns my calls and refuses to address my concerns.

BIG RED FLAG. FOR ANYONE CONTEMPLATING DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS FIRM, THIS COMPANY WILL DEMAND FULL PAYMENT FOR THEIR SYSTEM BEFORE IT EVER GENERATES A SINGLE WATT OF ELECTRICITY. THIS IS A NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENT STATED BUT NOT POINTED OUT IN THE CONTRACT YOU WILL BE REQUESTED TO SIGN. YOU WILL ONLY LEARN OF THIS CALAMITY AFTER IT'S FAR TOO LATE. YOU WILL BE FORCED TO TAKE A HUGE RISK THAT THEY HAVE PROVIDED WHAT YOU PAID FOR SINCE THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR TEN YEAR WARRANTY INCLUDED IN YOUR CONTRACT. SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY DISPUTE, THEY IMMEDIATELY WILL THREATEN YOU WITH MECHANICS LIENS. YOU HAVE TO ASK YOURSELF WHAT REPUTABLE COMPANY WOULD TAKE SUCH ACTIONS. WE HAVE HAD OUR SYSTEM FOR 90 DAYS AND HAVE MADE MULTIPLE REQUESTS TO HAVE OUR SYSTEM REPAIRED. THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THESE DEFICIENCES AND JUST TODAY(12/11/15) THEY HAVE INDICATED IN WRITING THEY WILL NEVER DO SO. WE ARE NOW SEEKING LEGAL RELIEF.

For anyone contemplating signing with this firm, I, in the strongest terms, urge you to look elsewhere. Entering into a business relationship with this company is a choice I would strongly discourage. Also, if you need more proof, please be sure to take a look at the other reviews posted elsewhere on the web provided by customers who share our similar experience. Also, I would urge you to extensively research this firm, especially its management.. BTW, it appears several of the positive reviews posted at several sites are from non-existent customers. In at least one case on Facebook, their is a biased positive review posted there from a Summerlin Energy company employee.

One of the installers left cigarette butts in the yard, they did a poor job of keeping us up to speed on the work's progress, and the salesman didn't stay in touch with us despite his promises to the contrary. However, the installation seems to have been done well. We can't use it, however, until its meter has been installed.

In all honesty, it was Summerlin's salesman, Ray, that sold me on the hiring company. He was very honest and transparent when explaining the work and the costs, and he never attempted to upsell which I appreciated. Furthermore, the installation seems to have been done well.

Everything went really well, and it was a good experience. They were very upfront about the project's timeline, they kept me up to speed on the work's progress, and they stayed in touch from start to finish to make sure that no problems occurred. Furthermore, they had a very competitive price, and they did a good job with the installation without making a mess.

Scheduling was a bit difficult, and it's been three days since they said that they would return to address an issue with the panels' routers. They did have the most competitive price, however.

The installers were top notch. They did a fantastic job which is the reason why I would recommend Summerlin Energy. The office staff though was terrible. They did not provide any information to me unless I asked for it which I needed to do a few times. I need to add some information which I think is important. I knew the "Salesman" for two years. I informed him a while ago that I was going to install a solar system but needed some more time. During this period I would get phone calls from him to see how I was doing. I would mention that nothing had changed and that I would contact him as soon as I was ready. This went on for app. two years. I finally contacted him and he came over and provided me with the system I needed. I signed the contract and looked forward for the installation to begin. I never received any calls or e-mails so I called him. Most of the time he wasn't there. To make a long story short I finally did get in contact with him and he gave me a date. He mentioned that they had been waiting on parts. He did not tell me this until I asked him what was going on. My "salesman" was extremely unprofessional. Once I signed the contract he disappeared and I had to call the office to find out everything. I felt like I was annoying them but unless I called I heard nothing. Mistakes were made by the office on what was being installed and I had to remind them to correct it. I did not get all of the paperwork back when the job was completed and had to request it. Not once did I get any calls from the office on anything. I had to call them and that sometimes required more then one call.
I was told that they were busy which caused some of the issues. I do not accept that. They salesman should have assigned someone to be my contact from the start. Someone was finally assigned to me once the job was done. How appropriate. As I said above, the installers were great and that is the only reason why I would recommend them. Just be aware of the office. Make sure you have a salesman who will contact you with all the information without you having to constantly call them.
After signing the paperwork they drew up the plan to be checked by an engineer. After they received the plans back and submitted them to Clark County for the permit. While waiting for the permit to be approved I asked if they could istall the panels and they said yes and did so. We then had to wait for the permit and inspection. They had previously submitted paperwork to NV Energy to come out once the inspeciton was done and again we waited for their inspector. Luckily it only took a little over a week for NV Energy to inspect and then install the new net metering meter. That day Summerlin Energy came back and turned on the system. I did help by letting Summerllin Energy know as I saw people come to the house so they would not have to wait to be notified for each step. My system is up and running, although 8 of my 30 panels were not functioning the first day, they found out the problem quickly and are taking care of it today (the next day).

After Three Years of waiting on the viability and technology of Solar Systems for my budget, everything finally came into alignment. Solar is not Like buying Corn Flakes, in that everything is pretty much interchangeable, but it's more like purchasing an Automobile with Lots of Manufacturers of differing Quality and Performance, Roof Mounting Systems, Phase Units, etc. So the First Thing to do is to make sure you are comparing Apples to Apples. Most systems work like an Old Christmas Tree Light Daisy Chain and the entire Grid only operates as well as the Worst Performing Panel, while Newer Panels are available that generate at lower light levels each generating at its own maximum level - it's all what you choose or the salesman suggests. There are many things you should take into consideration: Do you want the ability to directly charge an Electric backup system ?, allow for the future growth of simply plugging in battery storage units (when that technology matures)?, easy flexibility to grow your grid. The type of software that allows you to monitor your grid, plus many other considerations. Be aware there are many Places to fall into a Trap by being sold Cheaper - Yet Older less efficient technology. I would highly recommend Summerlin Energy - From their Non-Pressure sales team that is willing to give you time to review your proposal, to their ability to provide the newest, most efficient technology at very competitive pricing. Patiently answering many questions as many of us are coming up to speed on this technology. Unbelievably Professional Installers, Electricians and support staff. ( A real rarity in Las Vegas ) At the end of 2015 and 2016 some real incentives from NV Energy and the Federal Tax System will expire. The 30% Tax Credit (that's Right - 30% of your Solar System Price (Non - Rental Systems) comes right off the top of your tax bill. At the end of 2015 NV Energy MAY eliminate PEC Credits (this rebate alone could be as much as $ 1,500 every Even Number year (paid every two years) on an 8.4 Kwh System. I calculate that my energy bill will reduced from day one Plus at most my Solar System will be Fully Paid in 12 Years (really about an 8 year payback if all rebate monies were applied to pay it off). So when you speak with any Solar Company ask the salesperson - which system and technology does the Owner have on Their House? Ask them about some real ptions that currently exist - Like No up Front out of pocket cost, an extremely low long term fixed interest rate. If you have been considering Solar - NOW is the time to investigate. Like always call a Couple of Vendors BUT compare Apples To Apples.
