When I first contacted the company they did not return my call. I got several estimates from other companies and then decided to try Summit again. This time the owner (Gino) returned my call and explained that he had gotten my first message but his phone had broken and he had lost my number. He promptly came out out to the house and gave me a very reasonable estimate for the work. He sent a contract which I signed and returned, and which also indicated the work would begin within 1 -2 weeks of the signing date (8/12/13). Two weeks later he indicated he would begin the work that week but never showed up because it rained. He said he would return Tuesday of the following week. He did not show up but sent an email that Thursday saying he had other emergency work that needed to be done and that he would start the next week. He did not show up the following week at all and did not respond to my emails and calls. He finally emailed on 9/19/13 apologizing for lack of response due to losing his Ipad. He explained that he had again run into emergency water damage/insurance issues and was short on manpower, but would begin the next week. Once again he did not show up that week and emailed me on 9/27/13 saying he would start the following week. He and several workers finally showed up the first week of October (six weeks after I had returned the signed contract). They worked for a day or two and then did not return for another week. The rest of the work was completed over the next two weeks by a single worker (not Gino) who was VERY professional and VERY skilled.
Ultimately, I was very pleased with the work that was done and I was quite satisfied with the price. It was, however, a very frustrating experience in terms of not knowing when they would show up or when the work would be completed. I definitely felt like he was "fitting me in" and that the job was not a priority for him. I understand that emergencies can come up, that weather can make it difficult to work, and that there can be staffing issues. I just wish Gino had been more responsive and kept me in the loop. Not knowing what was happening was the hardest part.
So, I would definitely recommend Summit Peak for price and quality of work, but I would be hesitant to hire them again because of the responsiveness issues.

It is unfortunate that I have to write this review, but I feel it is necessary. My experience started with Gino of Summit Peak Roofing around approximately August 1, 2013. Gino who is the owner of Summit Peak Roofing came to my home because of some repairs I was looking to have done to my home, mainly some of the shingles on the roof. We discussed other thing to be done. But my concern was the roof.
Gino supplied me with a cost for the roof, did the necessary write-up for me to supply the information to my insurance company. I thought great, this will possible be my new contractor for other work because of his responsiveness. The original quote was for $1,500 but for an additional $250 he would take the small crack inside the house as a result of leaking water. I gave him a deposit of $750 on 8/6/13 and the final payment on 8/14/13 via check. I thought that by paying for the job upfront showed good faith on my part. Oh boy, that was my first mistake.
Once Gino received, both payments. I asked what the game plan was and when will be getting started. Gino made countless appointment for all of them to be cancelled mostly at the last minute when I arranged to take off from work. I called Gino and said to him ?I paid for the entire job in full payment?, his response was ? I did not ask you to do that?. I was very surprised by that. Oh, I forgot to mention this was a two-day job.
Finally, after too many cancelled appointment, I sent Gino a text message on September 16 stating that "I understand if his schedule is too full, refund me my monies and I will hire another contractor." His response was ? No, I have materials here it won?t be let me see what goes on here I have other issues here and nows not the time?!
After that response, I spoke with the attorneys I worked for and gave him until Friday, September 20 to refund my monies in full or legal action will commence. I received another response from Gino stating ? Listen I have other problems it after 9:00 pm, I never give customers my cell phone call or talk during business hours 8-5. I will take care of this job this week somehow it just not tomorrow or Wednesdays. Thanks.? The job started on September 19 and has not been completed. What remain to be done in the inside of the house.
In addition, Gino left the debris from the roof in baster bag and said that he would call the garbage people to come and remove it. I called Gino regarding to the debris left in the bagster bag and he said he would take care of it. As of 11/22/13, the bag remained on my front lawn and it will cost me $165 to have it removed.
Finally, I called Gino a text messages on 11/18 and 11/19 as well as called him and left a voicemail message regarding the remaining portion of the work to be done inside the house to made the job complete. No response from him, at this point, I will hire another contractor to complete the job.The
This is the second job Summit Peak has done for us, and we are very pleased with all aspects of his work. He always responds in a timely manner when we contact him. He was very prompt to come and give us an estimate, and the work was started and finished on the dates we were told it would be. Everything was cleaned up properly, too. No complaints at all about quality or service with this provider.

He first sub contracted out which is not mentioned in his contract and I was lead to believe he was the one doing the work. When I got to my house, there are 3 people there that do not even speak English so I could not communicate with them. The guy I hired was no where to be found and as far as I know, never even visited the site. These guys ended up sleeping in my backyard and used my tenants electricity. They also took apart some of the gutters and never put them back together. On the first floor of the house is a box window with a hip ceiling and they didn't run the roofing sheet all the way to the house, did not seal or flash it. My house has suffered thousands of dollars of damage because of this. A sculpted ceiling has to come down, the oak hardwood floor has to be taken up and all carpet is ruined. He left the job site a complete mess as well. There is tar paper and shingles everywhere that my tenants and I still cleaning picking up. He refuses to take responsibility for this and he says it's from the AC leaking. I told him everytime it rains we get gallons of water in the house and the hardwood flooring keeps buckling more and more. He talked to his insurance provider and I haven't heard from him sense.

"Please be informed, we were notified by our insurance company that the leaks have nothing to do with the roof, and not to do any work unless notified otherwise. As far as me being there, I'm there every morning and afternoon to meet my guys. Although it might be difficult for you to understand, this is a group of hard working guys that have worked steady for me for over two years, and to degrade them for their ethnicity, they never stayed and slept in the back yard over night, they start the job at sunrise and stay until dark, perhaps you confused that for there lunch break. These guys are vary thorough on clean up, your roof had multiple layers on it and was cleaned up very well. We do apologize for the water damage, however it was not our fault as stated by my insurance company."

The morning he came Gino arrived on time, assessed the job to determine all of the necessary supplies he would need, I gave him a deposit and then he went with another roofer to get all they would need to complete the job. I was able to go to work while he and the other roofer worked on everything but the dryer vent. When he needed to get inside the attic, he called me at work, I came home and let him inside to complete the job. The job was completed and I only had to take off 2 1/2 hours off from work.
They were both friendly and courteous and worked the best they could to around my schedule. Gino was very cooperative. The job was completed quickly and to my and my husbands satisfaction. We are not roofing experts but we have complete confidence that we will no longer have the small leaks that we were having and that the work will be lasting.
They cleaned the entire area of debris after they were finished and they were both pleasant to have working on our home.

Work done per estimate in timely manner. Worker cleaned up after work was done to my satisfaction. So far so good...no leaking.
Gino is very considerate and professional. I will certainly use him for future work as needed. One important issue to me is that he will return calls immediately and not keep you waiting as well as doing quality work.

Old sidewalk removed and new one installed in one day. Sidewalk was sloped to prevent water puddling in spot near house. They did a very nice job and I have no more water leaking into the house.
Gino and his team were very professional and prompt. The estimate was provided the same day they came to insoect the roof. The estimate/contract was detailed and very easy to read and understand. I was informed of every step of the process and work was completed on time. I was very pleased.
Gino was very responsive to our questions and was always professional in his interactions with us. The crew completed the job as stated and were on time. They repaired our entire roof and a very old chimney. Also, did a few extra things without charging us. We would hire Gino and his team again.

We had our old roof replaced with 27 squares of "Certainteed" shingles. We're delighted with both the quality of this brand, the availability of the color we wanted "Weathered Wood," and the professional service "Summit Peak Roofing" had provided. There's a 30 year warranty provided by "Certainteed" and it's algae resistant. Looks great! We've had NO problems and people have stopped at our home to inquire about the contractor we hired. Everything went well right from the start. The contractor was both courteous and kept supplies neat while they were on our premises. The whole job (because the weather was good) took about 5 days.
