It took them 20 minutes ( for $150, no discounts ). Mohammed reattached the tube with screws and tape to be sure it wouldn't come apart again after another company's repair didn't last. He did it from the roof, didn't have to go up into the crawlspace.

They sent someone out within days - other companies we called couldn't send out to give an estimate for weeks. Technician arrived on time. They arrived to give an estimate but also left a window of time so that if we wanted to go ahead with it they could install it then and there. There wasn't a high pressure sell. We got estimates for other things - skylight, whole house fan. We didn't not want to make a decision about those things right on the spot.

Installation was very good and efficient. The end result was as expected. The labor cost was exorbitant at $270/hr. This rate is twice that of any other profession like quality electrician, plumber or HVAC. Since this is the only Solatube installer in the area, they have a monopoly on labor cost.

We also replaced some parts at no charge to you. Our master bathroom does not have a vent fan, so initially ordered a solar tube with the vent addition. Unfortunately, our house has the roof coming down right at the corner of the bath, so he was unable to get to the wires to pull them over for the vent. In order to connect power, we would have had to rip out a lot of dry wall so we did not get that installed. Installation was in about an hour, and we were only charged for the parts used.

It was a positive experience all the way around. Dealing with the office and installers was extremely easy, they promptly reply to questions and we're on time for their appointment. We are super happy with the skylight and we have much more light than we even expected. The installers were able to help us determine the best product for our room and they were right on with their recommendation.

Very professional, clean and thorough in the installation. The remote control shade that closes the sun tunnel to darken the room is great, but was pricey. I love it because it allows us to close or partially close out the light with a push of a button, which was installed right next to the light switch for the room. The only downside is that it does not close completely- so it's not like blackout blinds. I was told there is a very small gap that is required. The tunnel unit was curved when installed, and this changes the brightness of the light, which was a little disappointing. I have other sun tunnels (different brand) where the light is brighter without the curved installation, and I prefer the more direct light. I do like the tint of the light, though. It has a slightly blue hue vs a more yellow hue. <br />

<p>For some time, I have been wanting to do something about my garage getting hot in the summer. An opportunity arose when I saw the ad for solar attic fans from Sunlight Concepts in the August 2015 edition of Home Concepts magazine. I contacted Marjorie at Sunlight Concepts and received a quote for the RM1600 (22 watt) model via e-mail; the quote honored the discount as advertised. Even though the solar fan was advertised mainly for use over attics, it is also applicable for an open space like above a garage. Because the fan runs on solar energy, there is no operating cost. Only costs are for purchase and installation. There is also a tax credit associated with the purchase and installation as well. The two-man installation crew performed the installation on Aug. 25. They actually arrived earlier than planned but kept us informed to ensure we were ready for them. The installation took about 30 minutes. They cleaned up after themselves; there was only a little bit of sawdust and some small wood pieces that fell into the garage while they were cutting the hole in the roof. The installation lead also provided me with documentation on how the fan was installed and directions on how to register my new fan.</p> <p> I also had installed the solar thermal switch which attaches between the fan motor and the solar cells. It keeps the fan from coming on until the temperature at the top of the garage reaches 85 degF. It then turns off the fan when the temperature at the top of the garage decreases to 65 degF. Without the switch, the fan would come on when there is enough sunlight in the morning and turn off when there is not enough sunlight in the evening. I don?t want the fan to operate in the winter time even if the Sun is out. I don?t mind the garage being a little bit warm when it is cold outside.</p> <p>The fan runs very quiet. I can only hear it when I?m in the garage. I can?t hear it operating anywhere else inside or outside of the house. There?s no noise to bother the neighbors. My wife and I are very pleased with our new solar fan.</p> <br />

<p>It started when I dropped into their office/display room in Santa Clara. There were no other customers there so I had the salesperson's full attention even though I was not buying any of the business' own line of products. She reviewed likely details for the custom order to replace my skylight and set an appointment for their staff to come to my house to measure and assess the type of unit that would be needed.</p> <p>The staff was timely and quick when they visited, measuring on the roof and inside the house. They determined that a curb-type unit was needed. I promptly received an e-mail estimate for several choices available. I took a little time to research the choices (clear vs opague glass) and then ordered by phone to provide a credit card to cover the custom unit but not the labor. I was told that if the unit did not fit, Sunlight Concepts would assume responsibility for replacing the unit as they had done the measurements. I was given an estimate of delivery and install in about two weeks. All of this was confirmed in follow-up email.</p> <p>The unit arrived on schedule and installation occurred the next day, by appointment. Installation was very quick, which was good because I had another appointment soon after. I gave them a check for the balance and they hauled away the old skylight. By e-mail, I soon received a receipt of full payment.</p> <p>The skylight is exactly what I wanted and the service matched the ratings I had seen on Angie's List and Yelp. I think I could have gotten a cheaper price on the unit if I had used another installer but I chose this business because of its good ratings for customer service as I don't need the angst of bad service. I am thankful for no angst on this transaction.</p> <br />

It went fantastic. Mafid and Mohammed arrived exactly on time and helped me with my location of the tubes for the best light capture. The process went perfectly. They were gone within 90 minutes and I have two beautiful new fixtures for natural sunlight in my home. My sister also had this product, Solatube, installed in her home in the Central Vallley and the price was quite a bit less. Still, I am pleased with the quality and the great customer service I received from everyone with whom I dealt at this fine company. <br />

Punctual and prompt service. Installer did not fill gaps (~ 1 inch) where corners of prior hole in ceiling poked out beyond edge of new fixture. I somehow expected that such touch-up and "paint-ready" service would/should be part of the install. I fixed it myself with some spackle and sanding. Overall, I love the light. The fan seems noisier than it is powerful. <br />

We had Sunlight Concepts visit our home and give us a free estimate for two Solatubes - one for a bathroom and another for our hallway. The bathroom badly needed some natural light, but the hallway wasn't all that bad, so we went with installation of just one Solatube in the bathroom. The installation was done in a professional manner, on time, and the installers took my input on how I preferred to have the light and vent installed. They did not make up some excuse just to avoid some extra work that was needed to orient the light as I wanted it. The installers and Marjorie were very friendly and easy to work with. Although the Solatubes are a bit pricey I think it makes the area look really elegant with the natural illumination. I would definitely work with Sunlight Concepts again if I decide to install any more Solatubes. <br />

My experience with Sunlight Concepts was excellent. They responded promptly and scheduled an appointment. They were timely on the appointment and completed the work in less than one hour! They cleaned up after they were done and were extremely professional in how they approached their job. <br /> The fans are working beautifully. Note that I did upgrade the fan by adding a solar temperature control. The nice thing about having a temperature control is that the fan will turn on and off when the attic hits a certain temperature. <br /> Note that the fans are very quiet and look nice on the roof! <br />

The two solar tubes that I installed are both the larger ones. One in the kitchen one in the living room. Both of them are performing well and I really like the light they brought into the house. I didn't upgrade the lens. When the sun is right on top during the noonish time. The kit lens do not seem to be disbursing the light evenly. You can see the light is much brighter directly under the tube. The upgrade lens may work better. <br /> I first contacted the company to give me a quote. They came out on time and did a good job. I didn't request other quotes because it seems this is the only solartube dealer for this area. I don't know if this is true or not but I could not find another one. I did some search online to get a general understanding of the price structure. The solartube product price seems to be standard across the country but the installation cost varies a lot. In the bay area, we seems to be on the higher end. <br /> The installation was painless. Two of their men came out and finished the job in a couple hours. That's pretty much it, quick and easy. <br /> Overall I am very satisfied with the product and experience with the company. I am also feeling good about saving some energy. <br />
