Sunny Day Painting

They painted the Windows, Storms, Fascia, Trim, wrought iron railings, and even the chimney that needed about 3 fresh coats (and made it look amazing!) all exterior. They also painted a couple rebuilt interior windows.  Very nicely done. <br /> Daren runs the show and is a good communicator.  They did what they said they would do and stuck to the budget discussed. <br /> His pricing was reasonable and they were very detail oriented which was a requirement.  The job took a little longer than expected due to cold weather, but it was finished as soon as the weather cooperated. <br /> Highly Recommend. <br />

Daren painted our garage the year prior and so we were excited that he was available to do our home as well, given our first experience was so favorable. We have been in our home for 20 years and this is the third time we have had it painted. It is by far the best experience we have had with a painter. Daren was timely, he and his staff were very productive, made the least amount of mess I have ever seen of a paint crew. Each day the yard around the house was cleaned very well. Our home has had several layers of old paint on it and so the scraping that Daren did was thorough, the patching and repair of wood was great as well. The painting was complete and thorough and detailed. This paint job will last a long long time and the price was about the same as we paid for a much lesser quality job on the house close to a decade ago. Our house looks amazing! <br /> I highly recommend Sunny Day Painting to anyone who has outdoor or inside jobs, especially if you have an older home that has some wear on it. Daren and his crew will make it look like fabulous and provide a high level of painting TLC!!!

My experience with them was generally good. We checked the prices from 5 different contractors listed on Angie's List, but we got the best price from Sunny Day. The highest quote we got from Factor 10 was $3000 and the cheapest was $300. I just could not believe the difference in price. He did an adequate job. He was not perfect, but he was good. I was happy with him. He charged for what he did and the job he did was fantastic for the price we paid.

They did a good job and I would recommend them to others. They were conscientious and worked quickly. They cleaned up after themselves really well. Their price was good.

Daren returned my call promptly, his bid was competitive and they did a great job. Daren and his crew are all very professional and they cleaned up after themselves each day. When they finished at the end of the week there was no evidence they had been here other than my freshly painted trim. They did a high quality job and were a pleasure to work with.

Took several messages and quite a while to get an initial response from the co. Once we settled on a date, it all went well. He was willing to try one color of paint, but was able to change it after I saw it on a small part of the house and decided I didn't like it. <br /> Got it done in good time. Kept things cleaned up and didn't wash brushes/rollers here.

Daryl and his crew painted the exterior of my 100+-year-old small Minneapolis home. They sanded the surfaces and applied two coats of good paint well -- at a good price. I had a friend who is very experienced in house-exterior matters look at their work and he was impressed. I'd use them again.

Fantastic. Particularly liked their use of peel bond and that the owner works with just one guy. No huge crew to miss parts.

Job went longer than others, however the price made up for the extra week.

We were initially happy. Upon further review, some of the work was a little worse than what we originally thought. It seems that they didn't prime parts of the exterior--the paint came off pretty soon after they were finished. I thought that they were very nice people, and they did do an excellent job on the interior work.

Daren was very friendly and helpful throughout the process, and was willing to work with me to make sure that my desire to make sure that EPA rules regarding lead remediation were followed carefully during the project. The estimation process could have been smoother -- other bidders provided more professional and easy-to-understand quotes -- but that was easily resolved with a telephone conversation. Daren's quote was approximately the same as two other contractors, but his openness and willingness to listen to my concerns helped me feel comfortable selecting him. The work itself was completed entirely by Daren and one employee, so although it progressed slower than a larger team, I feel I got a higher quality result at the end. Daren did a great job of making sure the job site was cleaned up at the end of each day and at the end of the project, and was happy to do touch-ups on areas that had been missed

Once we connected, & were able to set a start date, it went very well. Done efficiently, neatly in a week's time. He even painted gutters to match new vinyl trim. Cleaned up every day & worked neatly. He gives every customer a copy of a delightful children's book that his grandmother wrote, & he illustrated, as he's actually an artist.

Daren came out to give us an estimate on painting the trim on our 1930s era tudor. Due to the favorable pricing and glowing reviews, we decided to go with Daren to perform these services. We were not disappointed. Daren's crew sanded, prepped and painted all the trim around our house in a week. They also caulked the windows. They did a very professional job and the end result looks great. We are very pleased with the work of this company and will use them again for other interior jobs that we have. You can tell Daren takes great pride in his work and it shows.

They showed up on time and got the job promptly. It was all good. I would use them again in future.

It's hard to imagine a more delightful experience with a contractor. I'm 61 and it's the best experience I've ever had. Daren Lavoi the owner, kept his word on everything. He was always punctual, communicated about everything, and accommodated changing our minds about color part-way through the project without additional labor charges. The workmanship was excellent and his two workers were great. I wound up taking them all to lunch on the last day because we all got along so well. I gave all of them nice tips at the end because they went above and beyond the call of duty. He used a sprayer to paint. I worried - unnecessarily it turned out - about over-spray. He and his men carried shields to contain the spray whenever needed. Sunny Day is a small contractor but very principled and puts customer service and quality at the top. I can recommend them without reservation to anyone.

Initial contact took about a week to make. After that it was smooth sailing. Work started on dates agreed upon, and was completed 1 day late due to a couple of days of heavy rains (not the contractor's fault).

The job took about 8 days. Two colors were used on the house. After receiving Daren's initial bid, we carefully went through all the items that were to be done. Daren was easy and reasonable to work on making some adjustmens. The 3 painters who worked on the house were neat and tidy. Daren would update me daily on their progress; make notes of areas that they had repaired; and, discuss any questions about which color went where. For example we thought we wanted our porched painted in the trim color but we changed our mind to using the siding color. They called a week after being here and asked us to make a punch list of anything they missed.

Daren and his crew showed up when he promised they would. They worked quickly and did a good job. They did a few small extras for me that weren't in the original contract without charging extra. They listened to the radio while they worked but kept it low enough that it didn't bother me or the neighbors. Daren always kept me informed about what they were doing and what to expect. They gave me the lowest bid of the four contractors I talked to, and I chose them partly for that reason and partly because of good reports on Angies List. They were not quite as meticulous as some other painters I've used but were very good about taking care of minor problems I noticed and pointed out to them, and I'm quite pleased with the final result.

Extremely satisfied with Daren's work. Would use again and will recommend to others. Great communication.
