I will give the technician a 5 star but not so much as their customer service team. I had my furnace installed in January 2026 and recently in late march get a call that need to have inspection done, which was fine but 2 months later i get this call, really?? And they also neglected to mentioned to me that there were 2 inspection that needs to be done, one for electrical thru the state and the other is for maintenance inspection thur the city. The state inspection came out which was fine but the city inspection was schedule with Tammy at the customer service team has been rescheduled 4 times and stiil they dont have it right. I know im not the only person that ever got a new furnace installed by sunset fuel and cooling but i feel like i am because they do not know their protocol.

I am very pleased with Sunset Heating and Cooling as a new customer. Isai Ubaldo arrived to conduct a thorough inspection of my home's HVAC unit. Isai demonstrated himself to be an expert in the field, explaining why the heating element was failing. Additionally, he gave me options for the cost of repair vs. replacement. I received real numbers, objective data, a complete overview of the entire maintenance program, and transparent information on the hiring practices of Sunset Heating (competency requirements/security checks). Very impressed with both Isai and the overall integrity of the company. Sunset was great to work with from start to finish. The office team was prompt and communicated the entire way. The technician we worked with named Bill was super knowledgeable and friendly. We ended up choosing to move forward with a replacement of our furnace. The installer who came out was really efficient and reviewed his work with us. Super great installer! Highly recommend Sunset.

Retired carpenter here. Purchased new heat pump and furnace in 2020 from Sunset heating and cooling. It stopped working after 5 years. We have had 2 different techs out to look at it. They can't fix it. But they did offer a $2000 to $4000 fix for us. On a fixed income. This is robbery.

efficient and communicative

We have had the equipment installed since June but nothing works. If someone comes out, they say someone needs to fix the issue and leave. We call several times a day and can't get past the call center.

Customer service is terrible call 7 times to talk to a manager and haven't heard back yet. Could not get passed the phone operator

Daniel came to do a yearly maintenance on my heat exchanger and heat pump. Everything was working great! He suggested I do a few things down the road. I will be scheduling a ductwork cleaning sooner than later. Everything is so expensive, I have to prioritize my needs. He was patient and not pushy

The company will not provide you with an itemized receipt. The lack of transparency is concerning, and I would be very suspicious about using them in the future as their price was much higher than their competitors.. If you plan on submitting for insurance reimbursement, for any reason, absolutely do not use them as they will not provide you with a receipt breaking down the material/labor cost, and insurance will not reimburse you.

Sunset came out first thing on a Monday morning. They were able to diagnose and fix my issue quickly. Great job. We also talked about future work. My only issue was that the final bill was not the price quoted. There was another charge for them to come out to the house. That was never discussed by the office when they originally spoke with me. Effectively it was a hidden fee. Please be transparent up front.

Their technician did a great job of replacing my condenser fan's starter capacitor.

The gentleman that gave us the estimate was awesome. Could just tell he is very into his career. The installers were also great. They came early, which is never heard of. So I really appreciated it. The ac works so great, I almost need a sweater now. Haha

Quick response and polite worker

Everyone was very professional, expert in their knowledge and execution of the project, and amenable to all my questions - they were never too busy to address any concerns or questions I had.

Our AC went down, I called Sunset, and they're able to get a person out today. Friendly service and we'll be back to a comfortable temperature inside the house in no time.

Techs were great, my install was complicated and they were able to adapt and overcome. Price was the lowest bid.

They were professional and kept me informed every step of the way.
