First worked with Bryan in January 2019 and we have since utilized his expertise multiple times. He's knowledgeable, honest, humble, and a hard worker. He knows A LOT about A LOT and his work is always completed with excellence. Highly recommend!

We had 3 different companies (1 general contractor and 2 concrete companies) come out to look at our property and talk to us about building a stand-a-lone garage and/or concrete work for the garage. Then Bryan Hudson from Superior Buildings discussed the job with us. He was the first person who really knew the grading issues involved due to the slope of our property, including tree removal, temporary fencing for our dogs, and a retaining wall. Bryan was aware of county codes and gave us a rough cost estimate based on photos of our property. We decided it was worth the $100 cost to have Bryan come for a site visit to discuss the job in detail. After receiving a written quote we signed a contract and work began in February. After delays due to rainy weather the grading and retaining wall were completed. We also had to adjust the building size due to county restraints for our property size. The concrete work for the garage was completed in March and the steel building was ordered thru Superior Buildings. Part of our project was to widen our driveway at the street but as we looked at the existing driveway we decided to replace the whole driveway. This driveway replacement was completed in April after the building was on order. When we had trouble getting a sod company to finish the final grading and install new sod, Bryan helped us out and completed this work for us. We are very pleased with the completed project and would highly recommend Bryan Hudson and Superior Buildings. Communication is critical for a project of this scope. Bryan was accessible and responsive even on evenings and weekends. He was very patient with us and respectful of our concerns. It is obvious that he loves his job and he simply has too much fun with his machines!

I am very satisfied with the work that was done by Superior Buildings Carports and Concrete. I originally called just to get an estimate for the metal building. After speaking with Bryan I found out that they did concrete foundation work also. Speaking with Brian was truly a pleasure as he addressed any questions I had along with offering even more helpful advice. I got other estimates from other concrete and metal building companies. I decided to use Superior for everything and I am so glad I did! The prices were fair and the customer service was excellent. Brian showed up when he said he would for the concrete install. He is also very down to earth and genuinely polite when he talks to you. The process for the metal building install was no different. The manufacturer of the building called me to set up an install date within days of ordering. The installers came out when they said they would and finished the install in hours. They were even out there in a thunderstorm installing it! It has been an outstanding experience working with Brian and the crew at Superior Buildings Carports and Concrete.

VERY SATISFIED with Superior Buildings and Concrete. We originally contacted them about their line of steel buildings, but discovered they could also do the site prep and concrete work. This is a tremendous advantage in a project of this size. You have one contact for questions, planning, scheduling, excavating, and construction. We quickly came to appreciate Bryan's straightforward approach as he walked us through the initial design questions. He listened as we described what we wanted the building to do and then presented options to help us refine that vision. He noticed we planned to have animals in the two extensions and suggested pouring concrete in three sections, a flat one for the core building, and two sloping pads for the leanto sections - to help with cleaning and drainage. During the initial site survey, he made a suggestion to move the building back 50 feet because the terrain was better there and that preserved an open area at the front of the building. He also told us what was needed as we applied for Building permits in our county. After several meetings, the general plan for the building and the site had been firmed up, we breezed through getting a permit, and we we put ourselves on Bryan's schedule for Phase 1 - Site prep. Bryan is a busy fellow (a good thing as I see it - it means folks find his services reasonable and good quality). March weather in Georgia is unpredictable, so the general estimate was for site work to begin within 3 weeks. Weather was good and our slot even sooner. Some large (18" diameter) trees needed to be removed (stumps and all). Bryan has a 953 Caterpillar which made quick work of the task and left us with a pile of logs for firewood. Within a few days the site was ready for Phase 2 - Concrete work, and we were put on the schedule for that VERY weather dependent phase (our building was on heavy soil, needs three dry days to be ready). We also finalized the building and sent in the order, color selection, specifying how many doors and windows, length, width, and sidewall height, special cut openings. Bryan again was an intelligent listener, suggesting options, noting costs, and making occasional suggestions - the heavy duty rafter supports make a much stronger building and were worth the extra cost. The weather continued to be good, and we had lovely weather for forms for the first pad, county inspection, and pour. We couldn't believe our luck when the good weather continued and the second set of forms, inspection, and pour followed immediately. The site has rock on one side and digging the trench for footings was a challenge. Bryan has an excavator for handling rocky soil, but did not bring it because the initial work could be done with shovels. Folks who are interested in details of concrete work can check on the Superior website, Bryan has some educational sections describing concrete slabs and building sites. In later chats, Bryan said we had nearly perfect weather for pouring and curing concrete. So, now we had a level site with a concrete slab and the building was ordered. Our heads were spinning - it was only a month after we started. Bryan suggested we put sealer on the concrete after it dried a bit (makes for MUCH easier cleaning). We had some last minute updates for the building, and were able to get them to the factory without hassles. We were ahead of the busy season and the Factory called asking if we would take delivery of the building - just a bit over seven days after the last pad was poured! Yikes! The crew delayed start by a day because the heavy rains we received, and the site was greasy - we put pallets out to keep from sinking ankle deep in the mud. Even with these unfavorable conditions, the crew of three put up the building in two and a half days! The finished building looked awesome, construction completed at the end of April. May was rainy patches, it took over two weeks before we had enough dry days for the final site work to be completed, but still less than 2 months from beginning to end. We love our new building, and you can see from the pictures it turned out well. It is a better building, and in a better location than our original plans, and that was thanks to suggestions from Bryan. He worked with us, giving us what we wanted, unless he could suggest something better. He was honest and forthright in dealing with us, very busy - but always quick to respond to a text or a call. We know we were fortunate and things came together quickly, but this was a major project for us and we were willing to take the time to do things right. We feel we got a 'Superior Building' and would gladly work with this company again in the future.

Our homesite is large and in an unincorporated part of East Cobb County.  The land had been neglected with a dense thicket of half-dead trees, stumps, and uneven ground left by the tree removal service.   Bryan had to bring-in a Caterpillar 953 track loader with a toothed-bucket to first rip and dig around 150 stumps and root-masses; that took several weeks of intense labor and rough grading.  Approximately 200 tons of dirt was graded and moved to correct drainage issues, all of which was part of our existing lot so no new material had to be imported.  Another 10 large tandem-axle dump truck loads and two 16 cubic yard container loads of JUST STUMPS AND TREE ROOTS were excavated and removed from the work site.  Bryan completed all of the dirt work personally using his own equipment and trucks; he is an owner/operator and does not lease his equipment.  This is somewhat rare with smaller contractors due to the sizable overhead expense involved.  So in other words, what he tells you he can do is not contingent on what the rental company may or may not have the day work is to begin.   <br /> Site preparation can be difficult and laborious depending on how much dirt has to be moved and graded.  Since there were so many trees and stumps to deal with (not to mention the garbage weather this year), this phase took several weeks to complete.  Good equipment operators know intuitively how to level, backfill, and finish grade for effective drainage.  Bryan knows how to do this very well, and our site, slab footings, and yard were finished to our specification.  After site prep, we pulled permits ourselves with the county.  This requires a surety bond to be purchased, as well as a septic analysis by the county health department.  It did not matter that scope of work had no plumbing or electrical, so be prepared (we had to have our drain field replaced which cost $4200 including soil analysis).  The footings were prepared to code and passed with no issues.  Again, an experienced dirt and concrete tech will save you time and money if allowed to perform necessary site prep first.  It makes no sense to get your footings dug only to fail inspection due to inadequate compaction of substrata, or a stump or root that is rotting underneath.   <br /> The buildings are engineered structures that have already been designed to code for numerous municipalities and counties nationwide.  So after we selected what we wanted, partial payment was made with balance due on satisfactory completion.  The crew arrived on-time and completed both structures in two days.  HINT:  if you have fresh concrete and don't want oil dripped on it by their truck, ask the lead to place some cardboard or wood under the engine, otherwise you'll have an awesome oil spill on your 13k concrete driveway that Bryan crafted two weeks prior.  The driveway and sidewalk were formed and poured in two separate days, and went-off without any issues.  Like all the concrete, we paid the plant directly which represented a savings since Bryan does not mark-up that cost; you only pay for the labor and material actuals.   <br /> <br /> The whole job - all four phases - took about 140 days to complete, including weather delays.  Dirt work and grading requires a "sweet spot" of moisture, temperature, sunshine, and readiness to complete effectively.  If you're patient, especially here with ATL bi-polar weather, you will end-up with a satisfactory job.  This stuff cannot be rushed.  The metal buildings are high quality and match the house in color, roof-pitch, and layout.  The more you spend, the better looking and higher quality building you'll get.  Opt for welded truss work, 12 gauge steel framing, and boxed-eaves.  I opted for custom insulated garage doors that match the house garage door.  That, as well as color-matched gutters and vinyl windows make it look crafted and finished.   <br /> <br /> Bryan is honest and what he says he will do is what he will do.  He provides a written estimate and does his best to stick to it unless a major change-order such as all-day stump removal or grading revisions occur.  He does not bait-and-switch; he will stop the job and notify you should something need attention.  I recommend his services. <br /> <br />

I had four estimates and they had they cheapest rate. It took two or three months to respond to my calls. They need to do a better with their contact numbers, they had 3 different numbers. They need better customer service! When they came out they were late.
Response from Superior Buildings Carports & Concrete
"We have attempted to locate this customer and have been unable to confirm that they were actually a real customer. In response to our phone number. It has been the same for more than 40 years.. The phone company did update the area codes in 1995 but we still have the same number. Please confirm you have the right company. Thanks."
