They refinished a complicated floor with multiply wood species with grains going in various directions. The workman ship was incredible.

We needed our floors refinished before selling our 17 year old home. They had never been refinished previously and had lots of wear in the high traffic areas and were very sun faded in other areas. After contacting Scott, we only waited about a week for an appointment, they showed up on time, and completed the work in two days. They covered vents, doorways and cabinets; there was minimal dust, they did a great job cleaning up afterwards, and there was minimal disruption during the process. Today the floors are beautiful and look like new. We are planning on building again when our house sells, and would definitely be happy to have them do the hardwood floors in our next home.

Scott Blanish, owner of Superior Wood Floors, was very easy to work with and did a great job refinishing our oak stairs. He arrived as scheduled and finished in the time he estimated. His work was high-quality and has improved the appearance of our home. We highly recommend him for wood refinishing projects.
The work performed was excellent and my wife and I could not be happier. The difference is amazing. Very little dust and the work was done on the date scheduled and finished quickly. The owner was very professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this company. High quality work for a reasonable price.
The provider was to originally begin work on our floors on Monday, November 4, 2013, but forgot to write the appointment down when we scheduled with them. We waited on Monday, realized they weren't going to show, and called them. They promised to come out the next day and do the floors, and we were told it would probably take 3 days. They said they had a state of the art dust containment system to keep the dust from sanding down to a minimum, and to help, they would tape off all of the cabinets and seal the doors leading into other rooms. They taped the cabinets in front, but not over the top, and they just kept the doors to the other rooms closed, but not sealed. They took a little over one day to do the sanding, and then stained and finished the floor with 4 coats of finish on the second day. The 4th coat cost us extra as 3 were included in the original bid.
At first glance the floors looked pretty good after they were dry enough for us to walk on them. But the closer we looked we noticed bubbles, swirl marks, overlap marks, and pieces of debris in the finish, and the floor under the refrigerator was not finished at all. Also, they had dripped some of the finish on our new carpeting in our family room, which had hardened pretty good. We called the provider and they agreed to come out and look at the floor. In the meantime our house was completely covered in a dusty mess. All of the walls, cabinets, and dishes and everything in all of the cabinets had to be washed. Our furniture was all covered with dust. We had boarded our 2 dogs to have the floors refinished, but now we had them back home.
The provider came back, looked at the floors, and agreed to fix them, plus refund a small portion of our money, basically what we had paid for the 4th coat. They promised no more dust and buffed the floor and did a lot of hand sanding to work out all of the problems they had created. They refinished the floors and gave us the small refund, and left. After the floors were dry enough to walk on, we again noticed swirls in the finish, uneven finished areas, some areas didn't look finished, overlap marks, and again a poorly done job. It didn't at all look like it was done by a professional.
My wife and I decided not to call them back anymore, because we didn't believe they were capable of doing a professional looking job. We hand sanded the floors ourselves, bought the floor finish the provider used, and put a couple of coats of finish on. The floors now look like we expected them to look after having them professionally done. Of course now we have to work hard at keeping our 2 dogs off the floors for 7 days until they completely cure.
We had 3 other people who wanted floor work done, but waited until our floors were finished to see whether or not they would hire this provider to do their floors. Needless to say, we couldn't recommend this provider to them.
Spoke with a rep from Bona, the company that made the finish the provider used. He said that no more than 2 coats of finish should have been put on the floor in one day, and that no more than 3 coats was necessary. The provider put on 4 coats of finish in one day, and then when trying to fix the floor the next week, put down another 2 coats. The Bona rep said that there were too many coats to allow the finish to properly cure. Our floors are now a mess, and the dogs claws are easily scratching the finish. The Bona rep said it's because there are way too many finish coats on, and it probably prevented them from totally and properly curing. We are now out well over a thousand dollars, and don't have the finished floors we were hoping to have.
From start to finish I have been very happy with Scott and his crew's workmanship and courtesy. I was kept informed every step of the way, and most importantly they called and came when they said they would. They kept all the work spaces neat and always asked permission to use any facilities.
Scott does all kinds of home remodeling work, and I am already planning for him to put tile in the kitchen and bathrooms.
When I asked for oil based polyeurothene, he said it was off the market and he would have to use water based. I told him I didn't want that and he was very adament that I couldn't get it because of environmental laws. He put the water based finish on. He came at 9:00 and was out of here by 1:00. The floor lost it's shine within a six weeks and the stain was very dull. I called a couple of places and they said you can get the oil based product anywhere. I feel he just didn't want to come back two more times to do the oil base. He left a big gouge in my living room floor that he said he would come back and fix and he never has. He charged me the same amout for the water based as what it would have taken for the oil based finish which would have taken three days to do. My floor looks awful and dull.
