I had to write a review in response to the "D" grade I posted on 12/9/16. I just heard from Ryan that he got behind when his colleague passed away. Now I completely understand why he had not responded to my calls and texts. I am so truly sorry, Ryan, for your loss, and for my hasty judgment. I hope that I can call you for future jobs. It just goes to show that you never know another person's story.

The first few jobs went great. He was prompt, courteous and professional. He even showed up quickly for a few emergency jobs. He charged a very fair rate and I was pleased with his work. Now he hasn't been here for a couple of weeks. I've called and he said he'd call back and I haven't heard from him. I'm going to have to hire another service. Unfortunate because he's a super nice guy and I like the idea of supporting a small family-owned business.

As can happen, the project started out slow. Ryan was a little late the first day. But we discussed it, and he made up for it by getting right to work. He had a couple of guys with him, and they all worked very hard taking out the old deck, and getting ready to put the new one in it's place. During the project, we had a couple of hiccups (which I was quick to point out...lol). However, Ryan took care of them right away. And, as anyone who has ever done home repairs can tell you, sometimes unexpected things come up. Ryan went out of his way to take care of them as well. As for the new deck, I had a very detailed design that I wanted executed, and Ryan and his guys did a great job making my vision a reality. Bottom line, I am so pleased that I will keep him in mind for any other jobs that I may decide to do in the future.

Ryan did a fantastic job. The job actually took place in the winter months when snowfalls would make it harder for him to come to Battle Creek to do the job. He was great about letting me know when he might not be able to make it but also showed up on days when I thought he wouldn't be able to come. He was conscientious about making sure paint didn't splatter onto my furnishings or floor. I felt very confident leaving him here alone while I was at work. Of course, he really wasn't alone ... he had my Golden Retriever and two cats to keep him company!

It went very well. While examining the under sink cabinet, there was a leak in the disposal, Ryan replaced it with a new one. He did a great job by attaching a wood plank under the sink cabinet, it looks good and hardy. Also he found out that there was an additional leak from a pipe in the basement closet. He went and bought all the hardware and did an excellent job in fixing the pipe leak, fixed the drywall, resurfaced and repainted the ceiling of the basement closet and in the process explained everything very well. We are very happy with his services and will definitely hire him for our future home projects.

He did such a crappy job. He has a prepaid cellphone. I couldn't contact him for over 24 hours. He never gave us the time when he would show up and when he did, he was 3 hours late. His had his guy come up to fix it and we called him afterwards to tell him that was not how it was supposed to look like. He came out and attempted to fix it but it still looked the same. The dry wall was bringing out thin nasty debris because they got some textures out when they left. It was all over our stuff. He did an absolutely horrible job. You can tell exactly where they did work.

Ryan was professional and courteous. Knowledgeable, exceptional workmanship and punctual. Very helpful when I had questions. I highly recommend him.

I got the door in, but it wouldn't work. He showed up and within minutes figured out why and got to work fixing it. Did not even charge me the estimate since he said it took a lot less time and effort. He took the time to explain why it was not working since I was perplexed.  <br /> I will use this company again. <br />

I had tried installing a new French Patio Door and could not get it to close. I called Swans based on the reviews here. He scheduled an appointment and came down and quickly determined the issue. He took the time to explain why I was having trouble and how he had two options to correct it. He had the door installed within about a couple hours and did not even charge me the full estimated cost of 250. He offered to do the rest of the install work (foam insulation, reattach brick mould, etc) but I enjoy that stuff. I will definitely keep him in mind when I have another project I need help on or someone to do for me <br />

<p>Ryan did a really great job on everything we needed done.  He was very nice and helpful. He worked hard and came back to finish up a couple of days later what he did not have to tools to complete on day one.  We would definitely hire him again!!</p> <br />

It was the second time I used the services of Ryan Swann. It is great to have someone who knows how to do everything competently. I will be asking him to return next month to install two toilets & shelves in a craft room. <br />
