We’ve dealt with many contractors over the past 20+ years and unfortunately, we never had any positive experience with any one of them. We were thinking of building a pool in our backyard including a new hardscape, so we contacted 3 pool contractors. All 3 were horrible in different ways. 1 one of them had an expired license and the other 2 were just saying what we wanted to hear just to get the job. One of them wanted 50% of the money upfront! We pretty much gave up and decided not to move forward with the project until my uncle told us about his next door’s neighbor who had recently built a pool in their backyard with Swink’s Creations and they were very happy with Swink’s, so we decided to call them for a quote. Mark Swink came to the house and unlike the other 3 contractors he spent over an hour in our backyard measuring everything. He then sat down with us and went over the entire project in detail explaining what would happen from pulling permits to job phases. He also said we would not pay anything upfront until they would start pulling permits. After a week, we met Mark Swink at his office in Simi Valley. He showed us the computer drawings on how the pool and backyard renovations would look like. He also gave us a project schedule and payment schedule. He said the entire project would take 90 - 100 days. Mark also said if we ran into any hard rocks and if their bobcats couldn’t break them our cost would be higher than what we signed in the contract since they would have to break the rocks on an hourly rate which would be more labor intensive. We signed the contract and, on the way back home I told my wife the 90 – 100 days would never happen since contractors never show up on-time after they get the contract signed and get some deposit as that’s what we always experienced in the past. I also bet my wife that we would definitely pay extra money for them breaking the hard rocks! They showed up the following Monday and started working! We were given 2 project managers, Blaise and Cesar who were just wonderful and a pleasure to work with. Swink's team showed up EVERY Single DAY Monday through Friday and a few Saturdays. Mark Swink also stopped by many times to check on the project and talked to us to make sure we were happy with everything. We met with Carl, who was also a pleasure to work with. He helped us pick the new plants and he also came by a few times to go over the new landscape and trained us on the new irrigation and drip system. Swink’s Creations finished the entire project in less than 100 days (72 days to be exact!!!). Every single night they left, I told my wife that at some point Swink’s would tell us we would owe them more money to break the hard rocks, however they never did, in fact when I asked Mark Swink about it, he said that their bobcats were able to break the hard rocks so there would not be any extra costs over the contract. Talk about honesty and integrity which is so hard to find with many contractors! Thank you Mark Swink for being such an honest, wonderful person and creating such a beautiful backyard that my family will get to enjoy and making many great memories for years to come. We love our new pool, new spa, new hardscape and the entire new backyard thanks to Swink’s incredible Creation and we highly recommend them!

Swinks completed our pool ahead of schedule. They were prompt, skilled and responsive. They guided the project smoothly through permitting and inspections. The finished result is beautiful and we are so glad we used Swinks. We wholeheartedly recommend them.

We are incredibly happy with our backyard done by Swink's Creations. They communicated well throughout the process, had workers everyday, did what they said they were going to do each day, and completed quality work. The price never changed after we signed the contract, and the project was completed within the estimated time frame. I highly recommend Swink's Creations for your backyard project!

The owner was great and had a good eye for design but the project manager wouldn't discuss anything with me until my husband agreed to it. The landscaper was a fraud and tried to convince us there was no need for a weed barrier and our tree was dying and had to be removed. Years later, the only thing still living is the tree and weeds. The pool was designed to be unserviceable. The uv filter was broken and couldn't be cleaned because they piped over top. The table is directly above where the chlorinator offgassed chlorine and below where the drain valve leaked from not being properly tightened. It completely rusted through immediately. Needless to say, we've spent a lot of money to fix what Swinks did wrong. Some of the staff that came in were amazing and others weren't. It's very hit and miss but overall a negative experience that we regret.

We have had the pleasure of working with Swink’s Creations, Carl from the beginning (and during the landscaping), for a project started due to drains being nonfunctional - tree root destruction of them. To create new drains meant redoing landscaping in the front and back yards and redoing the pool tile and plaster (which had not been done in 25 years). Swink’s Creations was professional and performed exactly as they said they would. They provided us with a detailed design of all of the work to be done. They gave us a timeline for the project and completed it early and at the cost quoted. From meeting Carl for the first time, through Blaise overseeing the project, we were treated so well by everyone working at the house. When we had questions, they were answered fully and knowledgeably. The pool tile they helped us pick out is beautiful and the pool looks like new. Our landscaping and lighting are beyond our expectations! We highly recommend Swink’s Creations for anyone looking for any kind of landscape services!
