,They showed up on time with a full crew and the removal of the old roof went smoothly.  The problems began when they started installing the chipped wood ply that was laid the under the shingles.  Our house has all open beam ceilings and as they were nailing down wooden layer they missed the beams with nails 67 times leaving holes in our ceiling. They patched the holes, but I was still left with the job of final smoothing and painting of the repairs.  At the completion of the job I went up on the roof to look it over, and found that they had completely roofed over a vent from the master bedroom bath that should have had a whirly bird vent.  They had installed the whirly bird at a kitchen vent where it probably will do little good.  They cut a whole in the new roof for the bathroom vent and installed a plain vent there. They actual roof itself will probably work just fine at protecting the house, but their attention to detail left a lot to be desired.

On December 9, 2014 Hector contacted me and told me that he had not forgotten about me. On September 11th 2015 I contacted Hector to find out when he would be coming to cut the nails off.I contacted him also on October 2nd, 12th and 13th.On October 2nd he said he would come out the next week and take care of it. He did not show up. On October 12th I contacted him and he said he needed more time. Today's date is October 15th, 2015 and Hector has not responded back to me. As I expressed to Hector, I cannot even get my house prepped or painted until the nails have been removed. I have been dealing with Hector regarding this situation for over a year. At this time the work must be corrected on my terms and the day that I set aside to be available. I can no longer wait until he is ready because his actions show he will never be ready.

Day 1:  arrived with adequate crew, covered our pool and proceeded to remove all the existing roofing down to the rafters.  They were done by 2:30 p.m. and cleaned up before they left.  Inspector came Day 2 and approved.  Day 3:  Crew arrived at 7:00 a.m. , same time as roofing material.  Installed roof and were done by noon!  WOW!  We were pleasantly surprised.  The Tafoya brothers work side by side with their crew.  One brother was always on site.  On Day 1 Hector alerted us about a bad pipe we had going to one of our restrooms and we were able to call our plumber to check out before finishing the roof.  I highly recommend Tafoya Roofing! <br /> NOTE:  They made a good impression in our neighborhood, 3 neighbors asked Hector to stop by to give them a quote. <br />

Excellent price, Great reviews on Angie?s List and Yelp, fast estimates, and response times. I had Hector come and do estimate, had it within 2 hours, as compared to several days with the other companies. I had several questions and concerns because i had to deal with solar panel removal, moving exhaust and vents to accommodate future solar panels and adding extra vents, radiant sheathing, among other things. He took the time to call and answer every question and offer a solution. He estimated 4 days for job completion, had it done in 2. Workers were on time, and cleaned up after each day of work, took care of all city permits, added vents, move things around as mention earlier, at no extra charge. <br /> <br />

Hector Tafoya and his crew are amazing. Very professional and efficient. Have to respect a contractor who gets his hands dirty. After receiving several bids, we settled on TafRoofing. The bid was reasonable and we felt comfortable with Hector. Day 1: stripped off two layers, right down to the plywood. They cleaned the mess including nails both days. Day 2: installed our new GAF HD roof, city inspector came by and approved the install. After the recent heavy rains...no leaks! 5 year warranty on labor. We are completely satisfied. Highly recommend.

Very professional service. Arrived on time. Finished on Time. Price was by far the most competitive.  My only complaint is that they could have done a better job of covering up stuff in my garage and back yard and could have cleaned up better. I am still finding nails and pieces of roof around the backyard and in the garage. <br />

Overall, they did a very good job.  They were very clean and cleaned up well after themselves and only took 1.5 days to complete the work.  My only two complaints would be that on one portion of the house, a flat roof was required per city building codes and we were not advised that that roof would be white (as that was the only color available and we wish they would have told us that in advance).  They did however come back and painted the roof to match the rest of the shingling upon our request at no additional charge (which satsified us).  Secondly, one eve of roof was replaced and in nailing to secure it, the wood completely split.  They refused to replace it and said they would only putty it.  They left it unsanded and as a result, my husband now has to sand the putty prior to its being painted.

Hector was professional, he came on time and gave me advice on what's needed for my roof. The entire process was smooth, Hector was very helpful, listened to our needs and very straight forward with the pricing. <br />

Cleaned and prepared roof, and applied first coat on day 1. Cleaned up afterward, not hesitating to clean a couple of minor splatters he missed. On second day, gave him a punch list with a few very minor observations (like a few expected stains bleeding through first coat) on my punch list. Contractor had no issues about resolving them. I called to get a few different estimates. Tafoya roofing was by far the lowest price for the work that had to be done. Including stripping two layers of shingles and one layer of wood shake. The original start date had to be set back due to some road work that started the same week. No worries I called Hector when road was finished and his crew came out to start on memorial day Monday. They were hear first thing to due the tear down and apply the new plywood. Everything went smooth. The inspector came out the next day, and the crew was back to due final install. Overall the roof looks great, and Tafoya roofing was a great choice. Very professional, clean, and efficient. I would highly recommend.

It was great the price was the best of three bids that I got and the owner came out and worked with his men and made sure that I was happy with everything and did not take a penny from me till the job was done. his price was $17,000. to $12,000 lower than the two other bids that I got. Also he was in my area. I was sooooo happy!!!!! <br />

We had actually used them about 9 months ago for some spot fixes and found Hector great to work with.  They fixed our spots and charged us fairly so of course we went back to them when we were looking to do the replacement.  After we did our due diligence and interviewed three other roofing companies, we decided on Tafoya roofing.  All four had pretty much the same materials/composites but prices varied greatly and Tafoya's was the lowest.  Hector was great about answering all of our questions.  Once we decided what we wanted, the job started about 10 days later and they were done in 2 1/2 days - just before the rain came!  They obtained and installed specific vents that we wanted.  During and after the job, the crew cleaned up really well all around the house and garage. Overall, a pleasant experience and we are very happy with our new roof.  We highly recommend Tafoya Roofing!! <br />

Work was done timely, professionally and was cost effective

An roof air conditioner was moved, so there were two holes in the roof. On the first day they removed the old roof completely, replaced any sheathing (wood) as needed, once this was done the first inspection (inspection require one day notice) took place and the materials were delivered the same day. Finished the work the next day then the other inspection took place. In all the work took took about a day and half. <br /> <br /> They were very professional and timely :-)

I initially had called Hector to get an estimate on a fascia board replacement for my two story apartment building but later decided to replace the whole roof after he quoted me the price for replacing the whole roof which was less than the roof deals I've seen on angies list.  The price included City Permits and a 5 year workmanship guarantee.  Also, I had read good reviews about his work and company on YELP and other websites.

I found Tafoya Roofing on Yelp.com first and then on Angies List. I called Hector Tafoya on a Friday morning and he responded right away and mentioned he could come out for a free estimate the next day (Saturday). Hector did not come at the time he stated but did come out in the afternoon and apologized for the late arrival because he was caught up at another job site. Hector was approachable and professional and gave an estimate cost to repair our Cricket part of the roof.  Hector even called me Sunday night and mentioned his crew was willing to come out on Sunday to perform the job if it did not rain in the morning. It did rain after all and we had scheduled for Tuesday morning instead. His crew arrived early Tuesday morning and performed the job. We had to pay extra because we decided to replace some plywood parts of the roof covering that had warped overtime. Hector arrived 2 hours into the job and stayed with me on site to oversee his crew and to make sure everything went well. He also took an opportunity to explain to answer all my concerns and questions. Hector and his crew also applied roof cement/leak stopper on our flashing's that had crumbled overtime and nailed parts of flashing materials that had popped out. They cleaned up well after themselves and respected our property. Overall, I felt comfortable with Taf Roofing and their crew working on my parents roof. I would recommend Taf Roofing for your roofing needs. I would definately consider hiring Taf Roofing again for my own home. <br />

The experience was great. Hector was very responsive, helpful, professional, and punctual. He was very accessible through all forms of communication - email, text, and phone call. He answered all my questions, tended to all my concerns, and finished the job well. I would use them again and recommend them. <br />

It is a family owned business and they are local here in my city. They responded right away and did a really thorough job. My husband has been in construction for 35 years and he really liked them.
