Debbie L. Talianko, one of California’s premier interior designers, is an award-winning professional know for the exceptional service and the health and wellness insights she provides leading residents in the West San Gabriel Valley. Debbie has 15 years experience offering complete design services to prominent homeowners in such communities in the San Gabriel Valley. Family room is beautiful but sofa still not comfortable; office extremely expensive and still not right; bathroom contractor that was recommended was double who I actually used. Debbie has a wonderful eye for color, very gracious but the whole project took too long and was full of problems.

"To our client, thank you for your honest review. I would like to start by telling the reader that when we learned that our client was not feeling comfortable with her sofa, we immediately offered to replace the cushions with something softer and for no additional cost. At present, she has spring and down filled cushions, which are the most durable and highest quality cushion. She decided that for now, she will to wait and see if they break in over a few more months. This is typical for new upholstery. I told her she was not going to be stuck and that I will check in with her in a few months to review the problem. With regard to pricing from contractors; we asked one of our favorite contractors to bid two living room and bath remodeling options for her. In the end, our client hired a past client that she knew. We do not know if this person is a licensed and bonded contractor. This may be the price difference. Our contractor always seems to be in line with other contractors we have used on various jobs. Sometimes, when new clients have not used a General Contractor, nor an Interior Designer, they are not prepared for the real costs. If you go the DIY route, be prepared for lots of headaches. "This project took longer than expected and was full of problems". This was due to the fact that our client was not willing to let us use our preferred vendors and to manage the project properly for her. She seemed to want to control everything and ended up using her own vendors. We often wondered why we were hired as professionals if our client was not willing to let us do what we do best. In the end, we came within a few hundred dollars of our initial budget which we developed along side of our client. Our timing could have been better, I will admit, but I was sidetracked many times on this project. I wish we could have made her happier."

As a working couple with no spare time and experience, we had difficulty making decisions on how to design the place and proceed with the plan. We often had conflicting ideas about the color, texture, and space planning. We needed an expert who would guide us. <br /> We selected Debbie Talianko for the initial walk through and design consultation because she was prompt, punctual and professional. She responded to our emails and phone calls promptly. She took her time to understand our needs and wants and proceeded with planning a walk through session without overselling herself. We were impressed with her professionalism, knowledge and experience. During the 4 hour walk through we learned so much about interior design and space planning that we wouldn't be able to do on our own. We have incorporated her ideas in our new home and we are very pleased with the results. We hope to bring her back for future consultation in the near future. <br />

I am so grateful to the Talianko Design Group for a beautiful living room/dining room and master bathroom redo! My desire for a southwest/spa-like look was more than I could imagine, but Debbie and her staff, after spending up front time talking to me, showing me various images and and getting to know me, came up with a perfect design that included unique pieces created just for me. I appreciated that at the beginning Debbie was very clear about the cost and time for the project?s completion and how all aspects of the project were well detailed and itemized. Also, I always had the opportunity to approve all the design aspects before they were implemented ? so there were never any surprises or disappointments along the way. Since I also had to interact closely with the contractor, I was glad that Debbie provided me with the names of three contractors that I had an opportunity to <br /> interview and make the final selection. Finally and most importantly, Debbie and her staff are very knowledgeable and experienced, and they were always readily available and accommodating. Also important to me is that Debbie is so personable, and that she and her staff are wonderful to work with. I am so happy with my home?s new look, and I will definitely call the Talianko Design Group for any future remodeling projects. <br /> <br /> <br />

My experience with this company was mixed. She was very prompted and delivered my spec drawings with a list of products and prices very quickly. What I didn't feel great about her originality or listening to what I truly wanted. The ideas she recommended for my home were very similar in style and color to what I found on the web site. <br />

"Interior Design is a process and also an exchange between client and designer. It is unfortunate that I did not know that this client was dissatisfied with our work. Overall, I would say that they were hard to work with because my emails and phone calls were often unreturned. If we had known, we would have taken the necessary steps to correct the situation by having an honest discussion about what they would rather have us do. The work involved designing a built-in desk for an existing fireplace wall. This meant that the design would have to coordinate with what was already there. I felt it made sense to match the existing style for a more finished result. Beyond that, we discussed other ideas for the first floor of the home. I guess you just can't please all of the people all of the time and our track record speaks for itself in a situation like this one."

We were not sure what to expect when we purchased the Angie's List Big <br /> Deal for interior design consulting from Talianko Design. We were very <br /> pleaseantly surprised. Debbie, the owner, was very nice and very <br /> professional. This turned out to be of exceptional value to my wife and <br /> I as we consider ourselves novices (at best) when it comes to interior <br /> design. <br /> Debbie, and her assistant, came out to the house and <br /> listened to our ideas. We really didn't know what we wanted nor where <br /> to start. I was very impressed by her insight and creativity. She <br /> described the relationships between color, flooring, wall coverings, <br /> furniture placement, etc. and gave us effectively a step by step guide <br /> to what to consider first, do first, and buy first. But she went well <br /> beyond that. She also guided us through color selections for paint, <br /> tile color and patterns for flooring, and suggestions for furniture <br /> placement and organization. She made a truly creative suggestion for <br /> lighting our family room area (that we have now completed). We are in <br /> the midst of both flooring and painting along the suggestions <br /> that Debbie gave us. Furniture is next. <br /> Debbie followed up the home visit with a comprehensive report that not only documented what we <br /> had talked about when we met but included addition suggestions that she and her assistant came up with as they discussed our <br /> situation back at their office. She also provided us specific paint color samples for the colors she had suggested. <br /> My wife and I are very please with the services of Talianko Design. We plan to use them again in the future. <br /> <br />

She kept in touch was punctual, I showed her my house, told her and concerns needed went through each room. I didn't spent enough time on furniture arrangement. I spent too much time on remodel ideas, she was responsive to all, very friendly helpful.

Debbie worked with me to find a time for the consultation that would work with my work and travel schedule. She arrived promptly and we spent two hours going through my home (3 bedroom, 3 bathroom townhouse) to discuss flooring, paint, countertops, drapes, area rugs, etc. My major focus was the upstairs but we went through the entire house. Debbie followed up with a list of recommendations based on our discussions plus a list of contractors, flooring companies, etc that she has worked with in the past. I have already contacted several of them for estimates. She also gave me information on her pricing in the event that I wanted to have her to continue to work with me on the project.

Because I live in San Clemente, quite far from her office in Sierra M****, we arranged to conduct our meeting online. I used my iPad so I could "walk her around" my home. It worked out great! The color transmission was not perfect. But everything else worked out very well. Debbie was able to get a sense of our space. She asked lots of questions. It was clear to me that, not only did she understand our constraints and preferences, she was more than willing to come up with solutions working within them. I liked her ideas very much and look forward to working with her to implement them. Although we live some distance away, we are in her area often. As a result, I am hopeful that we will be able to work together -- with meetings most often taking place at her office and less often at our home.
