Tarantino Roofing

Roof inspection was extremely poor and done from the ground without going up on roof. He did walk up on the garage roof, but never on the house roof. He said he fixed the leak, but the repair (caulking vent flashing) lasted only one month. It seems he was more interested in showing me roofing samples than actually inspecting the roof. Roof is in great shape (inspected every 2 years) except for small leak around bathroom vent. I paid $50 for an AngiesList special promotion for a roof inspection.

I paid the fee to Angies List. The inspection was thorough and he tacked down some looseshingles. He took the time to give me roof warning signs and to discuss different methods of roofing. I was very impressed and will call him when i need a new roof

He took before and after pictures of problems requiring fixes. I had a new roof put on a couple of years ago. There were numerous nail heads not caulked. Gaps between chimney a flashing, some cracks in top of chimney cap, and misc other issues. He took care of everything. He inspected my ridge vent and showed me pictures of damage done by an animal, probably a raccoon, where shingle taps on the top of the ridge vent had been torn off. There were teeth marks in some shingles on top of vent. He quoted me a price to come back to repair the damaged areas. The price for that was very fair and I had him come back and do the additional work. Very satisfied with the entire experience.

It went exactly as expected. Caulking was completed and an assessment was given.

We contacted Tarantino after looking at Angie's list and customer reviews. Surprisingly they were actually putting a new roof on in our neighborhood and could come out and assess the situation.Neil stopped by and was pleasant and professional. He noticed a few shingles were loose, noted that staples were used in the installation of the roof and a few were rusted, indicating possible water damage. He caulked the area, check the valley's and also caulked near the chimney. On his way down the ladder he noticed an area near the front of the house (different area from where the leak was occurring) that was spongy and could cause serious damage if not repaired. We agreed that he would come back and fix this particular area in the next few weeks. In the meantime if the original area leaked agin we were to call. A few days later a nice rain came along and unfortunately the drip took about 40 minutes before intensifying. The next morning I call Neil, he came out same day. Without know where the membrane was damaged he could not say with certainty where the water was getting in when it rained. UGH, my husband and I decided to get a few quotes on replacing the roof, although we could have patched the roof and waited for about 3 years before replacing the whole roof. After receiving the quotes and analyzing them we decided to go with Tarantino, not only was the quote within range, but we felt comfortable with Neil and his prompt and professionalism. My husband and Neil met and he was able to star the job that Friday...3 days after signing the contract! That Friday Neil and his crew were here before 7, set up, and got to work. They were systematic in the removal, and it wasn't long before they were repairing areas of concern and then started putting the roof on that day. Not only did they start the roof, but finished it that day, with a few details to be completed the following morning. At Least 4500 square feet. They cleaned up, ran a magnet on wheels over the cobbles several times to collect any stray staples and nails. The next morning they returned, finished the details, cleaned up, removed the dumpster. Neil came back and inspected they're work and decided to add more flashing in a few areas for extra protection. While on the roof he decided to caulk around the stone on our chimney (we didn't even discuss this) he felt it would be added protection because water could run behind the stone and under the flashing. He filled the gaps with caulk, had his guys come back and do another sweep with the magnet. We were so impressed with Neil's attention to detail and work ethic. We would recommend using Neil and Tarantino roofing to our friends and family!

Nick was always at my home as he promised and I am very happy with the work he did. I would definitely hire him again and in fact my neighbors just hired him a few months ago. They too were very pleased with his work.
