Mr Tavares took my money and never did the work. Now he says he's lost the paperwork and isn't replying to my request for a refund. Avoid this company at all costs!

Still waiting for the permit to be approved, for the job to be inspected. So says Steve. Hire him at your own risk. This guy is the run around champion! He got paid months ago, but the permit is still not approved he says,

It went very well. We needed knob and tube circuits removed so that we could get the attic and crawl spaces insulated properly. Steve was honest with me from the start and walked my wife and I through the whole process and at every step of the way. We have horsehair plaster walls in a very old house. Steve kept the resulting damage to a minimum as plaster is hard to work around.

Extremely unprofessional. Had all canned lights replaced in my home to the new LED cans. Majority of the ones installed on the first floor were not installed properly. They constantly keep sliding down and we have to push them back up to fix. (See attached photo as an example) Also, a couple of the wall sconces in our study room needed to be replaced. What I purchased didn't work so I asked the owner's son (who was on my job) to put the old ones back on. Left as is with these gaping holes in the wall and promised they would be back to install for me...no response. The only time the owner would respond to me would be when I threatened to write a negative review. Still undone (see other attached photo) and its been over 6 months since the job. Owner's son also had an attitude when I told him to be more careful when installing wall fixtures as he wasn't being careful and marking up my walls. Found several other areas afterwards where other fixtures (which were oil rubbed bronze finish) had marked up the walls. Had to have a painter come in to fix. Lastly, this electrician did the classic bait and switch on me. Gave me the lowest quote of any electrician with the most important thing for me being our double foyer chandelier to be changed out. I even had him come to the house prior to agreeing to do the work to avoid this situation but when on the job, said the ceiling was too high and couldn't do it. Claimed he made several calls to see if he could get rental equipment and didn't have any luck yet when I gave him a couple rental company names from a contractor friend of mine said he didn't have time to look into it further. Would stay away from using this company! Unethical and unprofessional! Normally I don't put this sort of effort into writing a review but had an extremely bad experience and want others to BEWARE!

Steve put together a quote or 10,000 to rewire my house, however, as we were moving along and forgot things he constantly made the cost so expensive. He said he would do the whole house for a set dollar but kept moving the goal post. When all was done it was over 13K. Very unprofessional and I had to pay to get all the holes in the wall repaired. I would not recommend him for electrical work

It didn't....it took forever for them to call me back...months of messages. He finally scheduled a date and then canceled because he was sick. I have now left repetitive emails, texts and voicemail messages to get the work done....and NOTHING. This process has now been over a year and I am out $225.

They came on time, explained well what they were going to do. They did the installation quickly, and made sure I was satisfied. The price I thought was reasonable. I was very happy with their work.

They arrived and had the work done in less than 2 hours. They were able to troubleshoot and fix a few outlets/doorbell that hadn't worked for some time, and they put in a dimmer and fixed another switch. I would hire them again!

I purchased an angles list deal- electrician for the day (8hrs for 1, or 2hrs for 2 workers) for $599. Steve called me to schedule an appointment quickly and we discussed what the job would be. Steve and his son arrived right on time and got right to work. They took down total 15 light fixtures and replaced with 8 interior light fixtures and 7 outdoors. It was a bit chilly out and they worked right through it. As far as the work, they are very fast and did an adequate job, I give an A for that. They finished all 15 fixtures in 2 hrs and even disconnected an old non working alarm system from the wall and capped dishwasher wires within that time frame. Since we still had 2 hrs left, I asked if he could move an outlet a few feet up to counter height. Steve said thats not within the angielist deal. Pretty much all the lights in my house have been changed other than the recessed lighting, ceiling fans and bath light fans- which are also NOT included in the deal. I am a little disappointed that nothing else could be done. I wouldn't have purchased this deal. 600 bucks for total 4 hrs work to change light fixtures seems a bit high, and for that reason I am bummed that the other 4 hrs of work went wasted. For that, I give a B. So unless, you have a huge house with 30 standard light fixtures to swap, I wouldn't recommend this deal. better off hiring someone by hour.

Steve and his team were very responsive, came on time, completed the work on time and cleaned the area before they left. The price they quoted was reasonable for the amount of work needed in the old construction house. In the big living room area we didn't have lights or electrical switch so the team had to work extra to add switches to that room. There was one more room which needed recessed lighting and Steve's team will return to get that done next week. I am very pleased with the service and will hire them again when needed and recommend to anyone who needs any electrical work done.

Steve and his son came to our house to hang a chandelier in a room without overhead lighting. They had to add the electrical which ended up being more difficult than planned because of a-typical beams found in the ceiling. They were able to complete the job and even though it was more work than planned, Steve kept the price at what he quoted me.

Great job! Arrived on time with his son and they did everything that was agreed to. I had price estimates of over $2200 from other electricians but saw a special offer on Angie's List from Tavares electric for $1249 and after reading the good reviews, decided to have him do the work. He called to discuss the job and we agreed on a date. He verified the appointment the week before and showed up on time and went right to work. Cleaned up after they were done. Would definitely hire him again.

Work was done in two parts given the time that it took. father and son work together. very sweet

I hired them for a day. The evening before, the guy called me and said he will be late. I asked to install and HDMI cable for my projector, he could not do it. Some of the electric outlets had no power, he could not find the problem. He installed a light outside, it's not working after few months. It was waste of money.

The only think I am not happy about is he left all the old things he took out here.

It went great. They positioned them where I requested, they looks flawless, and they were in and out much more quickly than I expected.

They had gotten backed up due to the unexpected rain. They constantly stayed in contact and the communication was great. This is a small family owned business and one thing I really really appreciated was that he called on Monday and followed up on all phone calls emails and would answer questions and let me know what was going on with the job. He would update you with anything that was going on with your job. With a lot of businesses you have to hound them and they never call you back and with this company they take time out of their schedule to make sure that the communication is clear and questions are answered. After it was scheduled he explained what it would look like, what he was doing, and how long it would take. I was very satisfied with how thorough and friendly he was. It was a very good experience. I've been getting estimates for this upgrade for years and he came in with the best price and stuck to it. It was the deal of the century.
