I contacted several companies when I needed my front steps rebuilt. Paul called me back promptly, and even though they were very busy and couldn't come give me an estimate or do the work for some time, he always kept in touch. He called routinely to check in and let me know where I was on the list. When the time came to do the steps, they were very professional and prompt and told me exactly what to expect. The steps turned out beautiful and they were able to keep of our original 1925 foundation bricks that support the side of the steps. When I needed a small concrete pad poured in my back yard I didn't hesitate to call them again, and again received the same great service and beautiful work. I highly recommend them.

They did a very nice job.

They not only restacked and redesigned, they poured footers and added quite a bit of gravel to the walls. They did all this using shovel labor thus saving my lawn and surrounding areas from the usual destruction of mechanical excavators.

Tensing did a great job. They replaced an existing double sided driveway approximately 100 feet long. They also replaced an existing sidewalk - approximately 6 panels. They also replaced a section of an existing concrete floor in a 2 car garage. They were on time every day, worked full days and made excellent progress every day. I received frequent communications about what was done each day and what, if any, changes needed to be made. I was very impressed with the professionalism and the attention to detail. The job was done right. I knew after conversations with the owner that I wasn't going to have to worry about the quality of work.i would definitely use Tensing again and highly recommend them to anyone who needs concrete work done. <br />

Far exceeded my expectations.  Just outstanding quality, and the attention to details can seldom seen on a construction site.  Highly organized and great customer service.  This has to be the best Construction company in the state of Ohio!  <br /> The bid was done on off business hours on a Sunday, at my conveinence. <br /> A detailed agreement and description of work came promptly. <br /> Other bids tried to use short cuts to make the cost lower. <br /> Arrived on site as promised, with everything needed.  Trucks, back hoes and bull dosers, and air compressors for example. <br /> In three days the work was completed and work area completly cleaned up. <br /> The contractor returned to the site each of the next two day, making sure the work was setting up as planned. <br /> I know that after having spoke with 3 other interested contractors, that none of them could have done this work as well. <br />   <br /> <br />

Mr. Tensing did the work along with two helpers. They arrived on time and finished within their estimated time.Their methodology and execution was very professional. ( I have experience with major projects such as interstate and state road construction). The end result is a drain system that works flawlessly and should give many years of service. I would highly recommend this company.

I am a (relatively) new home owner of an older brick home. I was told by another contractor that the entire outside of my house was in need of tuck-pointing (he would give me a "deal" of $1800). I was referred to Paul Tensing by a neighbor who had Tensing do some work on her house and  suggested I give them a call. Paul came right out at exactly the time he said, looked at my entire house and said I in fact did NOT need any tuck pointing , that it is just the way the house was built and was in great shape. I did have a few places where the mortar had come loose due to shifting of the house so he filled those along with a crack on my back steps and some minor cracks in the foundation and sidewalk.  Mark Tensing actually did the work and he was great too; told me if I had any other concerns he would come right back and fix them. <br /> Paul's wife Amy was my first contact when I called. She is so friendly and helpful and makes a wonderful first impression!I would absolutely use Tensing Contractors again and recommend them highly.

I had significant drainage problems with water coming into my yard from my uphill neighbors. Recommendations from other contractors were over-simplified, "cookie cutter" plans that I knew would not solve the problem. I had to be on the waiting list for a few months, but once it was my turn, I finally had someone who seemed to understand the situation and developed a realistic plan. Professional, friendly, punctual - all the characteristics you'd want from a service provider. And it worked! I no longer have a river flowing down my steps every time my neighbor waters her lawn. Worth waiting for, worth paying a little more for.

They were very polite and very neat. There was never a mess, and my yard never looked like I was having any work done. I couldn't ask for anything more!

We were very happy with the job that they did. They were willing to listen to some of our ideas like, for instance, to put in a system underneath the porch that melts the snow. Our porch is high up, so they had to come over the system to get the concrete poured in there; they were very creative in coming up with solutions. They cleaned up very well, they were very courteous, and their pricing was reasonable.

This was the first time I have used this company. I was absolutely pleased. He is a very good landscaper who is wonderful to work with. He has good ideas. He is also knowledgeable about landscaping. I thought they really got on site and got the job done quickly. They worked so hard. The work took eight or nine days.

Not the lowest price of the three bids we received, but fair. Company seemed most up to the job and professional--family business dating back to 1940s. We got exactly what we paid for. Workers (that included two Tensing brothers) were all kind, punctual, honest, knowledgeable and professional--obviously knew exactly what they were doing. Job was finished beautifully--high-quality concrete was used, and fine skill, craft, and attention to detail is obvious in the finished work. One slight fault was left where the new steps meet the old porch concrete. We were surprised at this, because the rest of the job was faultless. The company corrected this immediately upon being notified of it, at no further cost. Overall, a fine experience--would not hesitate to hire them again!

I have used Tensing in the past with great results. The quote was neither the highest or the lowest I received. My decision was based on past experiences with Tensing and the quality of their work. The initial contract was for the front entrance to the house. The retaining wall across my back yard was an addition to the quote. I told Paul what I had in mind and we worked out the details. Paul and his crew were very easy to work with and very flexible. The work site was always cleaned at the end of every day. Another great experience with Tensing.

He sounded very professional. He went out and measured things and said he would mail me the estimate. I thought it was strange that he didn't give it to me right away like the other companies. I don't know if that is normal since I have never done a job like this before. His estimate was 60% higher then the other company I got an estimate from. I really liked the way that he presented himself.

They provided all of the information before their work. They communicated with us very well and kept us up to date with what they were doing. They did very good quality work. They were the most professional of all the providers that we talked to.
