Hi everyone I've been meaning to post about my experience of replacing my 3 HVAC systems over the summer. I have a really old home that had 3 HVAC systems that were between 18-25 years old each. Each slowly failed over the summer one by one requiring me to replace them all. They all ran on the old R22 refridgerant which is unbelievably expensive to refill locally unless you buy it online. We had gotten some bids last year 2017 and were quoted 25k-30k by different companies. We needed to replace a 2 ton, 2.5 ton, and 3.5 tons HVAC system. This past summer I took 4 bids on a Friday. I requested bids for the lowest cost system at 14 SEER. ARS Rescue Scooter gave me a bid $19990 for 14 SEER Carrier Sears gave me a bid of $21113 for 14 SEER Kenmore Abacaus gave me a bid of $28000 for 14 SEER Church gave me a bid of $30412 for 14 SEER Trane I'm probably similar to everyone else as this is not my area of expertise and I rely on other people to give me a fair bid, relying that they're being truthful and fair. That first day all of these people continued to hover in my home hoping to be the last one to give their sales pitch. They all tried the pressure tactic that if I didn't sign that day they wouldn't be able to guarantee that they could install it this week. It felt very similar to buying a used car and incredibly annoying. They all also said if I found a better price they would match it. I took the weekend to think it over and did some research. Turns out the HVAC units themselves only run $2000-$4000 each depending on what brand at 14 SEER. Therefore it should have only run about $6000 to $12000 for the 3 units I needed. The rest of the cost was for labor. People were charging me $8000-$18000 for labor!!! Looking into what went into labor, it consists of adding duct work, installing air handlers, installing the HVAC systems. I only needed the air handlers installed in their preexisting space and needed no additional duct work added to the current systems so I couldn't figure out how they justified $8-18k for labor. The following Monday, I took additional bids, but this time I let each HVAC company know to just give me the bid and to leave my home as soon as possible. I also let them all know that I already had multiple bids from Friday and had more coming on that day and to give me their best price. Village Plumbing gave me a bid of $23403 for 14 SEER Lennox H-Town gave me a bid of $14700 for 14 SEER Rheem Courtesy Air gave me a bid of $14380 for 14 SEER Ameristar Texas Air Repair gave me a bid of $11800 for 14 SEER Ameristar or Goodman Eventually I decided on Henry from Texas Air Repair even though other companies said they would match or better the offer. I personally think that people who give their best offer up front should be rewarded, not people who high ball you then drop their price $50 below the best bid you find after the fact. I upgraded the brand that I purchased and ended up purchasing a 2 Ton, 2.5 Ton, and 3.5 Ton 14 SEER Trane units from Texas Air Repair for $13500. I have been happy with the quality and the professionalism displayed by Texas Air Repair so and would highly recommend in the future. I definitely learned a lot about HVACs and hope this experience helps someone else out there from getting gouged.

Everything went very well. Everyone we dealt with at Texas Air was knowledgeable, friendly and responsive. All in all, we are happy with the new AC/Heating system and the service Texas Air has provided. We would definitely hire them again.

Once again Texas Air Repair came through for me. I gave them a try back in February when my furnace was not heating the house properly. Low and behold, right when it starts to get hot here in San Antonio, my A/C unit stops wanting to cool the house properly. Chris came out to troubleshoot. He originally concluded that my outside unit had overheated and was just about to quote me a price, but decided to check one more component that could be causing the problem. Sure enough, it was the last part he checked, Chris replaced the part and saved me money. Once again this company believes in great customer service and doing right by the customer.

Repair work was completed to my satisfaction. Fast, effecient, and cleans up after himself. Henry was easy to work with and extremely flexible. I would rehire him in the future. Highly recommended and will refer him to all my family and friends.

I had some water spots in my sealing near some of my air ducts, so I thought I had a water leak related to my AC. Henry came out right on time and did work to show me that the leak was likely from my shower line. He didn’t even charge me for that work as it was not in the scope of stuff he normally does! He suspected that I might have a Freon leak my coils, and when he couldn’t find a major one, we checked outside, and when that didn’t show a major leak, he recommended I call him Back and he would personally come back out when the temperature was hotter to get better pressure readings. I have very high standards for service and integrity, and Henry greatly exceeded both.

After having several other AC companies come out to try and diagnose my AC issues I finally called Texas Air Repair and they were the only company that could actually identify what my true issues were and then worked quickly to solve them.

When our AC stopped cooling we searched online for a local repair company. We contacted Texas Air Repair and received an immediate response. They diagnosed the problem quickly, checked the status of the warranty, and scheduled a service appointment for the following day. The owner himself came out to do the inspection and repair. He was very professional and punctual. The cost of the repair was a quarter of what another repair company had quoted us and the quality of the work was excellent. This is a case of you getting more than what you pay for. He even worked around our schedule when we had to leave the house unexpectedly. I will definitely use Texas Air Repair in the future and recommend them to others as well.

Henry helped keep my HVAC going and suggested what needed to be done to keep the thing going Properly. He didn't hard sell or pressure me. He actually was very up front about everything. Taught me a bunch of stuff im the process. The quality of work is worth every penny you pay and stress you can avoid. His prices are very reasonable as well. I have dealt with several HVAC companies in the greater Houston area and they have left me paying more than what I should have. Also Henry said if I'm ever out of heat or AC to call him anytime and his business will be there to help you in the dead of night. Excellent!

After being quoted a ridiculous price for a part from a much larger well-known repair company, I decided to try a small business to see if the service was better and fairer. So far so good, Marcus came out and diagnosed the problem and my heater is now back to working just fine. Marcus identified that the other company had recommended me replace a part that nothing was wrong with it, and in doing so saved me money. He was professional and knowledgeable and will definitely be sticking with Texas Air Repair.

Great. These guys showed up on time and replaced both systems in only two days. I've had the new systems for over a year now and these guys stand by their work. They are very responsive and take responsibility for ensuring that everything is right.

I called on a Sunday, they came out within an hour, and had the repair done within an hour. They replaced a burnt out capacitor.

Fantastic. These guys are pros! This was an ENORMOUS job! ($25,000) Work done was of impeccable quality.

Project went as planned. Very informative and the level of communication was over and beyond. Very satisfied with the work done. Will highly recommend to anyone.

This is the 4th unit we have replaced in our 35 year marriage. We both believe Henry Rodriguez is one of the most knowledgeable heating and air conditioning person we have ever met. He is the owner of the company and takes great pride in his work and the work done by his employees. <br /> Our duct work was improperly installed and  had lots of holes in the ducts. Henry went over and beyond my husbands expectation. When they encountered something that was done improperly, he fixed it at no additional charge to us. He even found copper pipe that was improperly sized and replaced it. <br /> His crew were very clean cut, professional, polite men. <br /> We would absolutely hire them again and recommend that anyone in need of heating or air conditioning work call Texas Air for a free consultation. <br /> This company is way beyond a 10.....we would give them a 20. <br />

The guy who used to come out and do the maintenance of our unit, used to work for another company. He’s a really great guy. So when he started his own company we switched over to his company. He’s excellent and he’s a really good guy. The people that work there are excellent. They are very honest. They are very nice people and very polite. They are very thorough. They are very professional. If they find something wrong, they take the part and make sure if it’s under warranty and then get the stuff if needed. They are very conscientious. Their price is excellent. They are very responsive. When I call them and if they don’t answer, they call me back. The quality of their work is excellent. I would use their services again in the future.
