Texas Roof and Fence

I contacted Steve at Texas Roof and Fence last fall to get bids on my house and a rent house that had hail damage.  he was very responsive to those requests and quickly got me a bid. <br /> I'm probably not the easiest customer to do business with and I wasn't thrilled with some of his terms and conditions so he agreed to changes I requested.  I'm not sure why but it took a few months to get his signed agreement back to me.  My impression is Steve has a lot of balls in the air and sometimes thinks he has done something he hasn't.  <br /> The roof replacement was done last week.  I am still waiting on the barn roof and gutters which were supposed to be done this week but it's not looking like they will be. <br /> Steve set a high bar and high expectations committing to cleaning up daily which his team didn't do.  He also told me when they cleaned up it would be spotless which it wasn't.   Steve said it was unrealistic to expect they would get more than 99% of the nails, etc. <br /> He may have done better than most roofers would have.  I had high expectations based on the strong reviews he had on Angie's List and in Denton and his representations which fell a little short.  Not sure how much of that is because my expectations were too high and some because his crew or he didn't do what he said they would.  <br />

Quote was handled well by email and in person.  He responded to questions about the product and service to be provided. Their quote was not the lowest, but the product was what we wanted and they provided it in a timely manner. <br />

The guy was very fair and square. I liked him. He was very professional. He was so busy that he didn't have time to respond but he was professional enough to send me an email and apologize for not being as responsive as I would have liked him to have been. He knows the law and what he could and could not do. He wouldn't operate under the table. His price was good. The only reason I used another company was because of their responsiveness. He may have been so busy that he couldn't respond as quickly as some of the smaller guys.

Reco and his crew removed the existing fence and installed a beautiful new 6 foot fence with and additional wide gate in front. My wife and I are very happy with how things went. We have gotten many complements on the look and style of the fence. Reco asked if it would be alright to add their sign to the fence when they were done. That it would be framed so it would not detract from the look of the fence. I said that would be fine. In an over site this was not done.  It's a shame because I believe the would have gotten more business from people seeing the quality of the work. My wife and I have been asked about the builder, but we did not have their card or price on hand at the time. <br />

Company was responsive to my phone calls.   Gave me a detailed written estimate.  I had already been to their website and had learned quite a bit about fencing.  I had received a total of five quotes and this company was the only one to point out that a permit was needed in my city.  Other contractors, when asked about permits, had lied and said they weren't necessary.  That was a black mark against them. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The crew came out as scheduled on a Thursday morning and demolished the existing fence and dug post holes for the new fence.  They installed a temporary plastic fence and left.   A truck delivered materials around 11 am and the crew came back that afternoon and set the posts in cement.  They were back at 7:30 on Friday and began to assemble the fence.  It was made of Western Red Cedar with cedar rails.  It was finished with a cedar top cap and a pressure treated rotboard along the bottom. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />After a week, I noticed that one of the boards had split vertically, and they came out and replaced the board. The fence looks good and passed it's permit inspection! <br />

After a couple of missed connections, my guttering was replaced. The work looks quite good. Though I wish the scheduling process had gone a little more smoothly, the company was always pleasant to work with and I would be likely to use them again. <br />

Texas Roof & Fence came to my house to give an estimate to replace 253 ft of yard fence.  The estimate given to me was less then what other estimates I received up until that point.  Upon realizing that I was an Angie's List customer, TR&F knocked off another $400.. All of their staff were courteous & punctual and wasted no time in delivering what they promised.  The replaced fence has given my yard a needed face lift that's very pleasing to the eye.  TR&F even replaced several roof shingles for free.  The entire experience went by smoothly and without incident.  I whole heartily recommend their services. <br />

They are absolutely great. They gave an estimate, good suggestions, and they gave me time to decide what I wanted. They had to put temporary gates up as the gates I ordered were not in yet and they came back to install those.

Their service turned out perfect.  They were very professional.  They were very honest and sincere with their work.  They made sure I was completely satisfied before they left.  When they said they would show up, they were here.

Their service was great.  I had met with four other roofers that were trying to get me to contact my insurance on the matter and get a new roof.  Texas Roof and Fence let me know there was no need for a new roof, just to fix the particular problem.  I felt they were more honest and professional about the problem.  They are also really convenient.  They will email you an invoice and let you pay online.

Steve and his team did an absolutely AMAZING job on our fence.  They were honest, reliable, dependable and did not compromise on quality just to make a few extra $$$.  Both Steve and his crew let us know that they would rather spend a little more time building the fence <em>right </em>then to <em>rush </em>through it and risk installing a product that we would not be happy with (a big difference from the previous fencing company that we used).  Steve and his crew are true professionals who know the meaning of "an honest day's work for an honest days pay" and I would highly recommend them. <br />

We found Steve on Angie's list as we were looking for approximately 300 feet of fencing to keep our 3 dogs and 3 cats in our yard. After getting quote from a few different companies we decided to go with Steve and he was great!! He really worked with us on looking at different options and we finally decided on a 5 foot black chainlink fence mainly due to price and the fact that it would keep our animals in. Steve made sure that when the installers started the job that they made it as close to the ground as possible and that the gaps at the gates were as small as possible.  He even threw in a few extras which was very nice.  We absolutely love the fence and would highly recommend Steve to anyone! <br /> Thanks for doing such a great job!

They did a wonderful job.  The fence looks great!  They obtained the building permit in the estimated time, and arrived for work as expected.  The workers were friendly and respectful.  They cleaned up the site nicely upon completion.  Overall, we are very pleased.

They did a wonderful, professional job. Rico came out to oversee the job he was AMAZING!  Initially someone else was going to do the work, so I bought all of the supplies. (It turned out they could not do the work). Texas Roof and Fence was recommended by friends who had just had their roof replaced about a month earlier. Steve Ormand was more than patient with my insurance company. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

It’s a small operation. They did a good job. We thought it would be a major repair, since we received a few other quotes before his, but he was able to really simplify it. He did fix the issue, but saved us a lot of money!

They did a fantastic job! Everything was clean, neat, and polished. The extra care they put into making sure that I was satisfied with the work was phenomenal. Their price was very competitive and they even adjusted their quote to be beneath the other quotes that I had gotten. It was a great experience overall.

Steve cares about quality...not how fast the work is done. PS. My daughter has a small doll house and they even replaced those shingles which we didn't even ask.  How great is that.
