I have used Roldan's company for several jobs and a variety of projects. I can always count on Roldan to be a problem solver, hard working, honest, fair, and professional. The quality of work is A++ and on more than one occasion, he has gone above and beyond what I expected. Roldan is a pleasure to work with and I will look no further than his company for any future projects.

We were getting ready to sell our home.  We looked on Angie's List and saw good reviews for #1 Handyman. Edgar came out to give us a bid.  He was on time for the estimate.  The work took longer than originally estimated but we also added some items (like carpeting).  Edgar came on site most days but work was done by various individuals, some were just workman, others were very good at job (e.g., painting).  Edgar beat the previous estimate for carpeting.   <br /> We had one big problem during the work.  The workman took off the storm windows to paint them and didn't keep track of which storm window went with which window.  So, when they put it all back together, many fit very poorly.  One had been hammered in to make it fit, actually bending the storm window.  2-3 of the windows were broken.  But Edgar made note of the problem and made good on everything.   <br /> At the end we were basically satisfied.  However, after we moved out the new resident said the basement toilet was leaking.  Since Edgar had been paid to fix leaking toilet, I called him to come fix it.  That was 3 weeks ago.  I've called or spoken with Edgar at least 15 times since then.  He always promises to come and the new owners sit around waiting for him.  But he has so far not shown up.  I've given up and will pay another vendor to fix the toilet.   <br /> This is very disappointing since I would have recommended Edgar when the work was completed.  But a work who won't stand by his work should never be hired. <br />

He came out and removed a fence. I needed him for two different jobs. I had another appointment scheduled and he did not show up. He accepted the job, then did a no call, no show. His work was okay and the costs were okay, but I was expecting him to come back. I wish he would have just told me he did not want the work, instead of me waiting on him to show up.

He is good. He is professional, and they charge us per the hour. They are not cheap, and his assistant is not so good, but they are professional, they are good at what they do, and when they make a mistake, they do it again without charging us. They deduct the hours when they go for lunch. I think they are decent, and we will probably use them again if we need to. The price is good.

My wife and I were getting her old condominium ready to rent.  We decided that we needed touch-ups, paint, and hardwood installed.  After going through Angie's List we settled on #1 Handyman since we had used their services for minor handyman work and were reasonably satisfied.   <br /> <br /> Roldan provided an estimate for the work on or about the 18th of January.  While he was providing the estimate he made mention that he was doing some big jobs in Great Falls and then proceeded to show me the pictures.  I should have been wary that he was more interested in the "big jobs" than what we needed done. <br /> <br /> About two days later he brought his crew to start work.  I provided a $500 deposit when his crew came and he deposited the check right away.  They began painting on the first day, finishing one room and spackled a crack in the kitchen ceiling.  That day Roldan complained to me that he wasn't going to make money on the job.  While that's the first time I've ever had that said to me by a contractor, I asked him what he wanted me to do.  He was non-committal and had no solution.     <br /> On the second day Roldan called to tell me his child was sick and couldn't make it.  "OK, no problem, just make it tomorrow" I said.   On the third day of the job Roldan and his crew did not show up.  I called and left voice mail messages, sent text messages several times but heard absolutely nothing back.  He completely abandoned the job and even left a shop-vac in the kitchen. <br /> <br /> I'm incredibly disappointed and even though I like helping the "little guy" business, I have to say something.  He took my $500 deposit and painted a staircase hallway and one room which was not $500 worth of work.  But the larger problem is that he abandoned the job leaving us to install hardwood (we got K&K Flooring who did a great job) and also finish painting the walls that he stripped.  

Roldan was professional and responsive. I am very happy with the quality of his work. Highly recommended to anyone. <br />

The #1 Handyman service does beautiful work quickly and thoroughly. Their bid was not the lowest price (though it was pretty good), but the work vastly exceeded my expectations. Roldan, the owner of the company, has a good eye for what will look nice and he and his team go the extra mile to make sure that's what you get. I wanted to fix up my condo before renting it out and by the time I was done I was actually sad I wasn't going to be living there because it looked so pretty. <br /> They did an extremely professional job patching wall and ceiling cracks painting walls and trim; though my condo is somewhat elderly, the finished result was smooth, clean-looking, and beautiful. On their own initiative, at no additional cost ,they made a little wooden door to hide  the metal circuit/fuse box and painted the door to blend into the wall, effectively making an eyesore disappear. I had asked that they paint just the outside of the old metal kitchen cupboards since I was on a budget and figured I could do without the insides being repainted. When I came home that day they had painted the insides too. I was worried this would cost more so I asked Roldan about it. He said, no additional charge -- his team thought the kitchen looked so nice once they painted the outside of the cupboards, they decided to keep going since with the equipment they had it wouldn't take much longer but would look much better. This is what I mean -- they take pride in their work.  Everything else they did looked great too. I was stunned at how actually pretty my bathroom wall tile looked after it was regrouted. Just beautiful work. The whole team was also professional and courteous and of course cleaned everything up completely when they were finished. There were absolutely no problems. I would definitely hire them in the future! <br />

Roldan's crew was great. Arrived on time, did a quality job on the painting, and cleaned up well. Very polite crew. This is the third time we've used them for painting and fixing wood trim. I'd try them for something more complicated as well. <br />

Was on time for both estimate and the actual work. Work was very good, and I'm completely satisfied. <br />

The service man, Roldan Salguer, was good.  He might have been expensive but his work was good overall.  He charged us $60 for an hour with an assistant but his assistant was not as good as he was.  So the price was not the best, it was not that competitive.  He was very flexible schedule-wise.

I cannot stress enough how awful, unprofessional and shoddy <br /> Edgar and his so called "business" is.  Things started with a referral from my <br /> neighbor on Sept. 2011.  I needed some <br /> ceiling/roof work as water was leaking into a second bedroom.  After calling The #1 Handy Man Services and <br /> arranging for a time for them to show up and inspect the damages, Edgar and his <br /> crew did not show up as promised.  It took <br /> numerous phone calls and follow up to get them to show up.  When they did, they merely took a cursory <br /> glance at the damages and walked out without saying anything other than <br /> "we'll be back".  It took more <br /> follow up calls to arrange a date to make the repairs.  After going back and forth for almost a <br /> month, the repairs were finally made. <br />   <br /> Fast forward one year later October 2012.  My roof and ceiling began to leak again in <br /> the same place the previous year.  That <br /> is evidence of shoddy and poor work.  <br /> Even if the previous damages were irreparable, Edgar should have <br /> recommended I go through insurance rather than make repairs that were temporary <br /> in nature.  I called Edgar explaining the <br /> situation and he attempted to duck responsibility and went on to state that <br /> repairs are only covered for 1 year.  <br /> That isn't stated anywhere.  Not <br /> on their website nor on my invoice.  <br /> Edgar acknowledged this and promised to re-inspect the new leak and <br /> apply repairs if the damage was a result of poor work from the previous <br /> repairs. <br />   <br /> Arranging a time for Edgar or someone from his business has <br /> been impossible.  He constantly gave me <br /> the run around, promised to call back and never would. I even told him I would <br /> be out of town on travel for a few weeks and we can address this when I got <br /> back.  Upon my return, Edgar was reticent <br /> and non-committal to coming over to inspect the damages.  When I finally pinned him down, he agreed to <br /> come over 11/7 at 9am.  I suppose you can <br /> guess what happens here.  Shocker, he <br /> didn't show up.  I called at 10:30am and <br /> he said he forgot about it and would send someone over.  I asked when and he couldn't give me an <br /> answer.  I told him to forget it. <br />   <br /> In sum, here are the key takeaways from The #1 Handyman <br /> Services: <br /> 1.  Poor quality work <br /> as evidenced by my ceiling leaking only 1 year after it was repaired. <br /> 2.  Utter refusal to <br /> take pride, responsibility and to stand behind their work and product. <br /> 3.  Unprofessional and <br /> dishonest behavior when addressing the issues of the leaking ceiling. <br /> 4.  This is a fly by <br /> night bush league company that epitomizes cutting corners.  You get what you pay for and I learned the <br /> hard way.  <br /> <br /> <br />

They came in, removed the old sink and installed a new modern plastic tub sink. Service was professional and courteous, I would gladly recommend them again.

I thought their service was okay, but the price was a little high.  They charged $85 and hour. They were really helpful and responsive.  They were willing to work outside the original scope of work.  They came a couple of hours late because the worker they had sent was unable to find my house on his GPS.

Roldan and his assistant did an excellent job.  I had confidence that they knew what they were doing and just turned it over to them.    Everything was hooked up and worked on the first try.  They were in and out with little disruption to my household routine. I had installed this fan as well as two previous fans which had failed in past years in this attic with temperatures in excess of 110 <br /> degrees F.  I wouldn't have done this job now for three times what he charged me. <br />

They did a lot of work and did it quite well.  They were very meticulous and conscientious about the work they were doing.  One of our neighbors asked about them after seeing them do work for us and had them repair some drywall in her home.  They also had good pricing.  They didn't always return phone calls as soon as I would have liked them to but they were ok.

Very professional, no nonsense. Have used this company in the past, and will use them again.

I called and asked for someone to repair a list of items.  They came to the house and met the tenant and addressed all items that I emailed in a list.  They will go to the store to buy any items needed and will keep you informed of any thing that arises during the repair.

He did as I asked him to do.  His prices were reasonable.  He was quick and good.  He was punctual.  He answered most of my questions.  I would use his services in the future also.

They have a crew of 12 people on salary, which I appreciate.  Their prices are reasonable. They’re quick to respond and did the work efficiently. They did an excellent job with plumbing and plastering, and  I am pleased with the outcome.

Their service was outstanding, they were completely reliable and did and excellent job!  Look no further for your fence repairs and carpentry!

Excellent. They were professional and thought on their feet. When a problem emerged over the weekend with the new sink--because of old pipes, not their work--they came back on sunday and fixed it.
