This company has a man in Columbus supervising a building rehab crew. The man normally does the work in the evenings or weekends for extra monies. He will call to set up an appointment. If delayed or needs to reschedule. he will contact you. He did work efficiently and neatly. As he sees difficulties or problems that may occur, home owners are consulted. I kept his personal # to call if I need services again.
Started out fine and he has lied about everything ever since the first 30 days. This beautiful home has now turned into a nightmare.

John and Aaron set out with great intentions to earn favorable feedback to Angie's list from me. Unfortunately, the work they accomplished fell far short of expectations. Work was started on 3 October 2012. The finished bath tile looks decent from afar but upon closer inspection, the grout filling the spaces between tiles is much wider than standard (see pic below). The bath drain that was supposed to be fixed still doesn't work, and the overflow drain has been caulked in place like I believe no other plumber would do (see pic below). The linoleum in the kitchen looks good but in the course of laying it, the freshly painted walls were marked up to the point where I had to repaint the lower 3 feet of walls all around the kitchen. After the initial sanding of the hardwood floors in the living room and 2 bedrooms, I was unhappy with the inconsistency. They attempted to correct the inconsistencies but were unsuccessful. I called in a professional floor re-finisher who pointed out the "chatter", the shininess indicating additional sanding was needed and the lack of sanding to the edges all around each room (see pic below). The water damage in the upstairs bedroom appears to be repaired adequately even though the damaged area was not cut out and replaced with new drywall. Measurements were taken for new storm doors in the breezeway by Aaron and John on 6 November, I bought new storm doors based on their measurements on 8 November and notified John on 9 November that the new doors were in the garage ready to be installed. Days passed without any work on the doors. Finally, on Monday, 26 November, I called John and said I needed the doors installed by 1 December. He said he'd work on them that Wednesday. Nothing done Wednesday, so I called and he said Aaron would do them Thursday. Nothing done Thursday but John promised he'd do them Friday. Saturday, 1 December, when I went to the house, one old door was removed then replaced with bent nails holding it in place (see pic). I called John that evening and told him he was finished and I didn't want to see him back at that house again.
I called Jon about installing a new fence in my new home. Jon came out at the agreed upon time. After looking and measuring my yard he gave me the cost of the job. I was pleased and hired him to do the job. Jon explained to me that his wife was going to have a baby soon but would start the job, but there might be a chance he would miss a day for the birth. Jon and Aaron started three days later. While doing the job they ran into a problem with underground wires. The fence had to be rerouted due to the wiring. I was not charged more even though it took more wood. The fence turned out great. I was so pleased that I hired them to do more work for me. When you buy a used house there are many things that need to be done. Every job was done to my satisfaction. Jon and Aaron were polite, professional and helpful.
I am so pleased with their work I am hiring them to remodel my basement and replace my circuit breaker boxes. In the spring they are going to replace my roof. I will never hire anyone else. Take my word they are the best!!!

UPDATE: After the fence was completed I have had nothing but
problems with is man and his company. I had him install a water
purifier. It is leaking and he refuses to come out and fix it. He also
agreed to add a room to my basement. I paid him $1000.00 it was to
install the water heater and a down payment on the room. Since then I
have called and called him, when he returns my phone calls he makes
promises to come out and begin work but never shows up. I was promised
the work would begin at the end of the last week of the first week of
December, never occurred. This man is a con artist and a cheat. He
steals your money and then does not do the work. If you want aggravation
and a head ache hire this man. I need this room in the basement since
my aunt who had a stroke needs my sons room. John is aware of the time
frame and need and does not care. He has been hounding me when he is
here to hire his wife to clean my house since I mentioned I might need
some help with the house. The fence wood is cracking and he refuses to
honor his work and repair the wood. I have lots of work that needs to be
done such as a kitchen remodel. HE also told me I need a new roof,
which I now question. I will have a roofer come out and look at the
roof. When he called my insurance company about the roof he pretended
he was me. That is fraud. If the roofer says that I do not need a roof I
will report this fraud to my insurance company. He also told me that
the last person who wrote a bad review would be sorry. So now I have to
worry about that. I am a cancer patient who does not need these kind of
problems. I have gone to my bank and disputed the check and will get my
money back if he does not return it. I .guess the bottom line is that
if John gets a job that pays more he pput the lower cost job on the back
burner

Things to know, John brings is underage children with him to work.
He told my son he cannot read. A big concern when directions are
involved. He does not follow through with return calls or showing up
when he says he will.

Fence update. John told the BBB that he would come out and repair the fence he installed. This has not happened as of yet. I call another contractor who specializes in fences. I have been told my fence is falling apart and falling down is because the post were not sunk deep enough, This mistake is going to cost me $1000.00 Water Heater update. Again not installed properly. Water heater exploded taking out my heating system. Finally Jon told me I needed a new roof. I have had 3 roofers come out and look and they found nothing wrong with the roof.

I purchased the 2 painters for $350 and from the initial
introduction it became progressively worse.
I left 2 messages with Jon without a return call and then called a
second number and was able to speak with someone. I later received a call from Aaron and
explained that I had purchased their painting special, that we are moving into
a home and could have some additional work.
He was not familiar with the special and upon explanation he said that
he was uncertain he could honor the deal but wanted to come to the house and
see the area. He arrived on Saturday we
discussed the special again which turned into an argument as he did not want to
honor the offer due to cost. I explained
that the offer is not negotiable as I already purchased from Angie?s List. He began to measure the room with the intent
of defining the job so he could bid it.
I again explained that I do not need to create a cost evaluation as I get
2 painters for 8 hours and that is all I want.
He left spoke with Jon and come back and confirmed the appointment.
I later spoke to Jon about situation and he indicated that
this was not the first problem he has had with Aaron and customer relationships. I told him that after my conversation with
Aaron on Sat I am concerned about the quality of work I am going to get. Jon said that he would be there in the morning
to meet me and ensure that things are done properly.
We were scheduled for Tues at 9am. They were 40 minutes late without calling and
Jon did not show up. I immediately had
concerns about the quality given Jon?s disinterest in following through with
his word. We had taped and repaired the
walls so all that was needed was to paint.
We bought Sherwin William paint and primer and requested that 2 coats be
put on in a Kitchen, living room and hallway.
Aaron called after 6 hours of work and said that they are done and
everything received 2 coats. I
fortunately had a brother in-law there to ensure the work was done. He inspected the areas and found many areas
that were not painted properly. These
areas were pointed out and my brother in-law stepped outside and after about 20
minutes they painters snuck out and left.
I came later that evening to inspect the project and it was
a poor job done by supposed professional painters. They are not able to cut as they hit the
ceiling several times. They did not put
2 coats on as there are many areas that need to be pained again. I joined Angie?s list to avoid Craig?s list
scams but unfortunately Angie?s List is promoting shady vendors. Stay away from their specials as you will be
very disappointed in the work.

11/28/12

Read the response and I believe that they should check their
coupon as it is highlighted that it is for 8 hours for each painter. It is made very clear as to what you are
purchasing. I believe that your response
is a good representation of your company?s values as it provides very
inaccurate information to go along with individual insulates. I would not expect anything less given my
initial experience. I did not initially include that they brought a kid on
sight that looked 12 to help with the painting and it showed in the quality of
their work. They have not refunded the pay.

"what can i say but the customer is always right? when aaron first arrived, yes he was measuring rooms but to see how many sq feet needed to be painted ( how long he needed, customer only paid for one day so he was checking). not measuring to bid aaron new there was some kind of promotion. also when the member got mad over aaron measuring it became clear we did not want to do job. so aaron from outside called me and told me that the member said he had already paid for the job through angies list and wanted it done so it became clear that we were stuck from the get go, because no matter what we did we could not please this man. we are simple people and are respectful of others but the member was very arrogant and rude when he met with aaron. as for me not showing up that is not 100% true that morning i was in urbabna, had to stop at one of the homes sponsered by the mental retardation board because there basement had flooded, before leaving urbana i called aaron and he told me that the member was not there his brother-in-law was, but he had told me he would be there all day. ALL I CAN SAY TO EVERYONE IS CALL THE OTHER REVIEWS AND TALK WITH THOSE PEOPLE. i think the proplem was that he prepaid for work and thought that a day is 8 hours when in fact it is according to angies list 6 and a half is a full day, and initial meeting was bad so we could never please him, well i am trying, after speaking with him i told him i would refund his money and if there was anything else i could do let me know. His review was very hurtful and insulting and mean. thank you for reading my side John Puntel"

We were preparing to build a new deck and needed our house power washed and some of the window and door trim painted. The house is three stories high in the back and I am not comfortable working on ladders at that height. Thankfully, John is. We contacted several people (all off of Angie's List) and John was the first to get back with us. His plan and estimate matched what we wanted and was reasonably priced.
Even though some of the respondents considered it a small project, John took his time and went through the details with us. While others were ambiguous regarding when they could do it and how long it would take, John was very specific and lived up to his promise. He showed up exactly on time and well prepared. He began working and continued to work through the project's completion. He was very conscientious and considerate.
While he was doing some of the projects, we added several additional items onto the list and he was agreeable to the added projects. What started out as a $250 project doubled in cost, but pleasantly so. We were impressed with John's work ethic and attitude. He was very agreeable to the tasks that we added as we went and was very accommodating to our needs. We couldn't have chosen more wisely.
John will be the first person I call for future projects around the house.

Work was done as committed. Arrived at the appointed time. Took 25% less time than estimated. And was very affordable.
