The Basement Kings

The basement king was a pleasure to work with. His knowledge is unmatched in the Texas area for sure. I received multiple quotes and talked to multiple companies and he was the best. He's passionate about his work and the manner in which it's done. If he says something, it happens. An added benefit was their cleanliness. Usually a job site of this size and complexity is a mess, but not with the basement kings. 10/10!

Excellent. Honest and quick work. Mr. King was able to get someone out on short notice, to shim/shiv the piers. They performed a full scale cleanup last year, and I will only use Basement kings for any of my crawlspace work. Best in Texas!

It went really well, better than expected. Mr. King was great to work with as he provided me several options for water proofing (for the future) and he installed a sump pump which is what I needed as the first step. He was on time, cleaned up after the job was done (and during) and wanted to make sure we were very happy with his work. I waited to do a review because I wanted to see how the sump pump worked after rain. We have had a couple of good rain events since it was installed and we heard it working and doing its job. The unit is a little loud, but knowing it is working and moving the water out of the crawlspace is all that matters to me.

If you have a leaky basement or are thinking about building a new house with a basement, don’t even consider using anyone except Willie and The Basement Kings. We rebuilt a lake house in 2012 that was destroyed in a wildfire, and the walkout basement flooded every spring. The builder spent thousands of dollars trying to fix it, but it flooded eight times in five years. I found The Basement Kings on Angie’s List, and Willie met me at the lake house the next day. He thoroughly inspected the basement and told me exactly what the problems were and how to fix them. Willie has an impeccable work ethic. He and his crew finished their work today. We have a lifetime guarantee that the basement will stay dry. He took photos of the work every day and texted them to my husband. It was hard, tedious, dirty work, but Willie takes pride in doing the job right, and his price was fair for the amount of work and materials involved. This guy eats, sleeps and dreams about basements. SO glad we hired him. You will be too!

Willie and his team were excellent. Willie has a lot of experience; listened to our needs and offered solutions to meet those needs. When they started working for us, they worked everyday until the project was finished. Willie consistently communicated and kept us aware of any changes/updates pertinent to the project. The work they did was high quality - they take extreme pride in being the Basement Kings and it shows.

It didn't go well. We paid for a consult which would apply to our overall estimate. The consult was frustrating since we had very specific needs and the info I gave did not reflect within the quote. The consultant didn't remember our conversations and the notes taken did not reflect what was discussed. None of the info I gave was considered or "heard". Instead, he gave possible reasons why we had these issues. I tried to explain why they occurred since I was there when it happened. In essence, the consultant did not listen or consider our needs. The final quote and estimate did not remotely apply to our situation or contain the info given. We are very disappointed and going with another company.

Willie and his team did fantastic work. After contacting numerous other "foundation experts", Willie provided the best plan and backed it up with his overall knowledge and certification/training in basement/foundation repair. He and his team do great work and take no short-cuts when it comes to the overall quality of the work. He also was very flexible when other requests were made and he gladly accommodated. He has a passion for his business, customers and takes great pride in his work. The basement and porch are now fixed and look great. Best of all is that we have confidence the work performed will last.

The Basement Kings finished their LARGE job this morning, and I can’t praise them enough! They had a long, difficult job, but no complaints. When they discovered a problem, they fixed it. No problem, that’s their job. They found the water problem had a lot to do with drainage, so they worked outside in cold & rain & developed a system to carry water away from the house. That, to me, was over & above, but they said their main objective was to get & keep the basement dry, so they did what they had to do with no complaints. Now you can’t ask for better than that - they give their all! I am totally amazed!!

I have had over 30 contractors at my home as it has been basically rebuilt.  This company has been the most professional i have dealt with.  Showed up on time, communicated progress, cleaned up at the end of each day COMPLETELY, came with all necessary tools and supplies. <br /> Along the width of the house, all of the walls were removed from the floor to aprox 2 feet.  Lower portion of studs and base plates removed, walls sealed with amazing product, studs, base plate and walls replaced (not the sheetrock).  All lower level floors sealed. <br /> We have had over 5" of rain in the last 24 hours.  This is the first time since i have owned this house that the floors have not flooded when we have saturated soil and heavy rain.  <br /> Incredible product, excellent company.  i highly recommend both. <br />

I highly recommend the method they used. Really enjoyed working with them.

He put blocks in so my atrium would not flood anymore. He put in a drain.

He came quickly to check and replace a pump. It rained a lot and I checked the crawl space to check the pump and there was water underneath it so I knew there was a problem. I called and the owner came out very soon after I called and put in a temporary pump to resolve the immediate problem and determined the dehumidifier wasn't working. He ordered a new dehumidifier and returned to install it.

Willie is very professional and knows his stuff. He visited us several times as we planned the project, and he and his mason Polo consulted with us on our various options. It took about two weeks to complete. Some delays were due to letting block walls cure overnight before they could get any higher. Regardless, they finished in the estimated time. There were some sections we were unsure of because a previous owner had covered up the basement walls with beadboard. After uncovering, they honestly advised us that there was no major damage there and proceeded to carefully replace the cripple wall supports with larger and stronger beams. They did great work, were very pleasant to work with, and we would hire them again!
